Chapter 367 Isabella Confessed to Fiorello
Fiorello showed up in person because of Maggie.
When he got to the police station, he greeted everyone, asked about the situation, paid the bail, and soon, Isabella was out.
Isabella was stunned to see Fiorello in the lobby. She didn't expect him to bail her out.
"Let's go," Fiorello said, barely looking at her, and walked outside.
Isabella quickly followed.
A Maybach was parked at the entrance.
Fiorello got in. Isabella hesitated between the back seat and the front, then chose the front.
It was her first time alone with Fiorello, and she was nervous but also happy.
"Your address?" Fiorello asked.
"86 Heights Avenue, Sunset Boulevard," Isabella replied softly.
Fiorello drove off. They didn't talk. To him, she was just Maggie's cousin, and he was just taking her home.
Isabella wanted to start a conversation but couldn't find the words.
After a while, Fiorello broke the silence. "You went to find James tonight. Were you planning to go down with him?"
Isabella was shocked and scared that he knew her plan.
"That's a dumb move," Fiorello said. "There are better ways to deal with James. If he died, you'd end up in prison."
"Sorry," Isabella mumbled, not sure why she was apologizing. She felt her mind go blank around him.
She had been influenced by Olivia and acted rashly, partly because she envied how Fiorello treated Maggie.
Isabella kept stealing glances at Fiorello, wishing the drive would last longer.
Maybe this was the only time she'd be alone with him.
Fiorello thought about giving her advice but decided against it. Now wasn't the time.
As they neared her place, Isabella felt reluctant. She pretended to feel sick. "Please stop, I need to throw up."
Fiorello pulled over.
Isabella faked vomiting by the roadside, even managing to throw up a bit.
Fiorello handed her his handkerchief. "Thank you," she said, flattered.
Fiorello was already back in the car. "Hurry up. I need to get back to Maggie."
Isabella held the handkerchief tightly, not wanting to use it.
Back in the car, she stared at the road. Suddenly, she blurted out, "Fiorello, I like you."
She closed her eyes, not daring to see his reaction.
After a moment, Fiorello's cold voice broke the silence. "We're here. Get out."
