Chapter 525 The Outcome

Fiorello was very calm when it came to his parents' marriage.

Maggie was a bit impressed.

Perhaps it was because he wasn't directly involved that he could see things more clearly.

If he were involved, it might be a different story.

After finishing her call with Fiorello, Maggie started her car and headed home.

She had just arrived downstairs when she received a call from the school saying that Adalia was injured.

Maggie quickly rushed to the school and found out that Adalia had gotten into another fight. Her forehead was injured, and a classmate had cut her with scissors.

Maggie didn't have time to ask for details and took Adalia to the hospital first.

Adalia's forehead wound required five stitches. Maggie was heartbroken and worried about scarring.

Adalia was a girl, and appearance was important. If she grew up with a scar, it might affect her self-esteem.

During the stitching, a little anesthetic was used. Adalia didn't cry or make a fuss. After the anesthetic wore off, she felt the pain but still didn't cry. Adalia was quite resilient.

Maggie gently touched Adalia's forehead wound and asked, "What happened? Why did you get into a fight again?"

Adalia kept her head down and didn't want to speak.

Maggie sighed and decided not to press further. She hugged Adalia, saying, "I'm sorry, Mommy doesn't protect you."

Adalia nestled in Maggie's arms. After a while, she looked up at Maggie and asked, "Mom, if I'm not good, will you not want me?"

"Of course not, Mommy will always want you," Maggie said sadly. This child had always lacked a sense of security. "Did your classmates say something to you?"

Adalia's childhood was not happy, and an unfortunate childhood might take a lifetime to heal.

Although Susan and Alan were legally punished, the psychological and physical harm they caused Adalia was indelible.

Adalia bit her lip and said, "They said my mom is a murderer. My mom is not. So I fought with them."

Hearing this, Maggie felt a pang of pain in her heart. Adalia loved her very much, which is why she fought with her classmates twice over this.

"Sweetie, I'm sorry for making you suffer," Maggie said, feeling very distressed. "It's all Mommy's fault."

"Mom, I don't want to go to school anymore," Adalia said. "I can learn jewelry design from you and still make a lot of money to support you and Grandma."

"No way," Maggie said sternly. "You can't talk about not going to school. Mommy doesn't go to college, and it's hard to find a job. You must study hard. Education isn't the only path, but it gives you more choices. Understand? I'll handle the school issue. You need to study hard and ignore others' gossip. When you're at the top, can you still hear the gossip below?"

Adalia seemed to understand a little. "Mom, I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault," Maggie said, kissing Adalia's cheek. "You won't go to school today. I'll take two days off for you. Now, let's go home, and I'll make you some baked chicken wings tonight."

"Okay," Adalia said, still feeling a bit resistant to school.

Maggie took Adalia's hand and was about to leave when she heard a familiar, heartrending cry echoing down the hospital corridor.

Immediately, Maggie saw Olivia quickly running into Room 8 from the elevator.

Maggie didn't know that Isabella was being treated at this hospital.

In the room, Isabella couldn't accept it and cried out, holding Olivia's hand in despair, "Mom, my face is ruined. My face hurts so much. Mom, please help me."

If Isabella hadn't instinctively closed her eyes and used her hand to block some of the acid, her eyes might not have been saved.

Isabella's face was almost entirely swathed in bandages, as severe burns covered 80% of her features. The corrosive damage was severe, and the skin on her neck was also ulcerated.
