Chapter 216 Confessing Identity
Fiorello's indifferent tone carried a hint of command.
Dulce couldn't resist and subconsciously surrendered.
Dulce had to send the address.
Forty minutes later, the doorbell rang.
Fiorello appeared at the door. "Where's Maggie?"
Dulce was genuinely intimidated by Fiorello. "She's in the room, Maggie is asleep. Why are you so nervous? Are you afraid I'll take Maggie away or corrupt her?"
Fiorello glanced into the room. Seeing Maggie sound asleep, he breathed a sigh of relief.
Fiorello quietly left the room, saying, "Maggie hasn't been herself during the day. You are Maggie's best friend. There are some things that you need to help Maggie understand; otherwise, she might become too fixated."
Dulce looked at Fiorello, feeling like he knew something.
"You seem to understand Maggie well." Dulce smiled and said, "Don't worry, I'm a good friend with Maggie. Maggie's issues are my issues. Maybe Maggie is just upset about what happened to Arya; there's nothing else."
Dulce was worried that Fiorello might suspect something, so she said that.
Fiorello naturally didn't believe Dulce's words but didn't say much either.
"It's late, Maggie is asleep again. If you're worried, I'll leave the main bedroom for you and Maggie."
Fiorello agreed readily. "Alright, thank you."
Dulce was speechless.
Dulce was polite, but Fiorello was not at all distant.
Dulce glanced at Fiorello's cold features and tentatively asked, "Fiorello, when do you plan to give Maggie a wedding? Girls all dream of wearing a wedding dress. You can't just leave it at getting the certificate without a ceremony."
If someone else had asked this, Fiorello wouldn't have bothered explaining, but this person was Maggie's good friend, so it was different.
Fiorello could see that Dulce genuinely cared for Maggie.
"I originally planned to propose to Maggie on her birthday, giving her a formal proposal ceremony. After Maggie's accident, this got delayed."
Fiorello's voice was low. "I will choose the right time again to give Maggie a grand wedding. As Fiorello's wife, she can't be without a wedding."
"With your words, I feel relieved." Dulce smiled and, seeing Fiorello's deep affection, offered him a cup of coffee. "I'll be waiting for your and Maggie's wedding. By the way, you can't bully Maggie in the future, or I won't spare you, even if you are..."
Realizing she almost slipped up, Dulce quickly changed her words. "Even if you are a handsome guy, I won't go easy on you."
Fiorello smirked. "When you were at The Corner of Metropolitan Club, you should have known my identity. You've been hiding it from Maggie, and you should also know Maggie's character. Dulce, Maggie is lucky to have a friend like you; your friendship is enviable."
Seeing Fiorello's confession, Dulce no longer concealed anything. "If I had known that you already found, I wouldn't have had to hold back so much. I saw you that day at The Corner of Metropolitan Club and found out that you are the CEO of Visionary Futures Group. At first, I thought you were just playing with Maggie, worried that she couldn't handle the deception, so I observed you in secret for a while."
Fiorello gently smiled. "It seems I passed your observation."
Dulce chuckled and immediately praised. "Fiorello is definitely a model husband; the world can't find another man as devoted and faithful as Fiorello. Maggie is very lucky."
Fiorello smirked, remaining silent. Curiously, Dulce asked, "Fiorello, can you tell me why you chose Maggie in the first place? Was it just based on her appearance?"
Fiorello answered with two words. "Serendipitous encounter."
There was certainly serendipity, but there was also an element of being attracted by appearances.
