Chapter205 The First Encounter Between Father and Daughter

<Chapter> Chapter205 The First Encounter Between Father and Daughter</Chapter>

Maggie could comfort others but couldn't resolve her own troubles.
When Maggie left, she teased the child in Ann's arms. Looking at the child's small figure, she couldn't suppress the sadness in her heart.
Maggie couldn't explain why she felt so sad.
Maggie took a taxi back home, and shortly after arriving, Eleanor brought some delicious food.
"Maggie, this is freshly stewed chicken soup. Have it while it's hot. There are also these supplements. I'll put them in the kitchen for you. When Fiorello comes back, let him cook for you."
"Thank you, Eleanor." Maggie felt touched in her heart. "Eleanor, you are so kind to me."
"Of course," Eleanor smiled and said, "Hurry, eat up."
Eleanor treated Maggie with extra care.
Maggie looked at Eleanor and thought of Ann's mother-in-law. Maggie felt much happier.
Eleanor was just Fiorello's aunt, yet she treated Maggie so well. She was kind and treated Maggie like her own daughter, and Maggie could feel it.
Maggie ate the food and checked her phone messages.
Other than a message her mother sent earlier, there were no other messages.
This was unusual. Arya couldn't have been silent after Maggie was discharged.
"Eleanor, have you noticed anything unusual about my mom recently when you were with her?"
Eleanor thought for a moment and said, "I did notice that your mom has been quite troubled recently. A few days ago, I saw Arya arguing with a woman at the entrance of the community. I asked Arya about it, but she didn't say anything. Maggie, when you have time, ask Arya about it."
Maggie was truly uneasy. She checked the time; it was already five in the afternoon.
"Eleanor, I'll go to my mom's place in a while."
"Alright, shall I accompany you? I'm worried if you go alone."
"Sure." Maggie smiled. "It's good to have company."
Maggie quickly finished the food, and the two of them left together.
Eleanor had the driver wait at the entrance. Seeing the car, Maggie once again witnessed Eleanor's financial strength.
Maggie had seen this Mercedes online before, priced at six hundred thousand dollars.
Maggie couldn't imagine it.
The driver took them to Arya's house. As Maggie and Eleanor got off the elevator, they saw Arya pushing a man out of the house.
Arya was pushing him out with a broom. "Get out, get out. If you dare to come back, don't blame me for being impolite."
"Arya, calm down. Let's talk." The man had a very good attitude, dressed elegantly, and was clearly not an ordinary person.
"Mom, what's going on?" Maggie asked in confusion, her gaze scanning the man.
The man was around fifty, well-dressed, wearing a watch worth three thousand dollars, glasses, and slightly overweight.
When Arya saw Maggie return, her face changed drastically. She quickly pulled Maggie into the house.
The man noticed Maggie, and a mix of joy and complexity crossed his face.
"So, this is Maggie, Maggie, I am..." he began to say, interrupted by Arya, "Mark, have some shame and leave."
Arya threw out the gift Mark had brought and was very emotional.
Maggie had never seen her mother so angry before.
Mark cast a glance at Maggie, hesitation flickering in his eyes. He heaved a sigh, words hanging unspoken in the air. Without another word, he turned and disappeared into the elevator.
Although Mark didn't say anything, Maggie understood from his eyes and guessed who he was.
Inside the house, Arya's emotions hadn't calmed down. Eleanor tried to console her, and suddenly Maggie spoke up, "Mom, was that man my dad?"
Blood relations were indeed mysterious. Even though it was their first meeting and they hadn't exchanged a word, just one glance and Maggie knew that the man who had just left was the father who had been missing for over twenty years.
Arya was stunned, tears streaming down her face, and Eleanor was also shocked.
Arya wiped her tears and said, "Maggie, he's not your dad. You don't have a dad, understand?"
Maggie was surprised. Previously, Arya had told her not to hate Mark, saying that Mark had his own difficulties.
But now, Arya had reacted strongly, driving Mark away and even denying his identity.
Maggie felt unsettled. It was her first time meeting Mark, and it was in such an unexpected situation.
"Mom, I'm not a child." Maggie took a deep breath and said, "You've been troubled recently because Mark has returned, right? What's the matter with Mark's return that made you so angry? Tell me, and we'll solve it together."
Maggie guessed out her concerns. However, Arya still found it hard to speak and could only wipe her tears continuously.
Maggie walked over to Arya, took her hand and said, "Mom, a person who has been missing for over twenty years has returned. They must have a reason. Is it related to me?"
