Chapter 200 Meeting Sam
Maggie couldn't understand Selena's words at all and didn't know why she would say such things.
Maggie didn't even know what the CEO of Visionary Futures Group looked like. But she was mistaken for his mistress.
It was just outrageous.
"Unless you haven't done this, someone must know." Selena sneered. "With your background, wanting to be the wife of the CEO of Visionary Futures Group, I really pity your husband. I wonder what your husband would do if he knew you had a lover."
"Selena, you're talking nonsense." Maggie was very angry, "Words shouldn't be spoken carelessly. My husband and I have a good relationship. Don't sow discord using such despicable means."
"Am I despicable?" Selena sneered. "Maggie, I underestimated you before. Your acting skills, your looks, really admirable, being able to handle two men effortlessly, being the mistress of the CEO of Visionary Futures Group is even more shameful."
Maggie took a deep breath and sternly said, "Selena, please leave. I'll say it again: I have no connection with the CEO of Visionary Futures Group. Don't slander me."
Selena sarcastically said, "You act so well; I want to see how capable you are."
After saying that, Selena left.
Maggie felt frustrated; Selena's sarcasm was just like Jane's in the past.
Jane had said similar things before.
Maggie didn't know what she had done to be mistaken as the mistress of the CEO of Visionary Futures Group.
As Maggie calmed down, she carefully recalled recent events, feeling like there was something she was unaware of, but she couldn't pinpoint what it was.
Things were a bit unclear.
Maggie didn't know exactly what it was, but she was certain it was something she didn't know.
Maggie remembered Dulce almost revealing something. What secret did Sam know about her?
At that moment, Maggie felt an urge to meet Sam.
"Maggie, let's go." Fiorello finished the procedures and came back; seeing Maggie lost in thought, he asked gently, "What's wrong?"
Maggie snapped out of it and smiled. "Nothing, just suddenly feeling a bit hungry."
Maggie didn't tell the truth. She couldn't tell Fiorello that she was mistaken for the mistress of the CEO of Visionary Futures Group; it would only cause trouble and affect their relationship.
Fiorello indulgently said, "Alright, let's go eat first, then we can go back."
Maggie linked her arm with him. "I don't want to eat out; I want to eat the pasta you cook."
"Sure, I'll cook pasta for you when we get back."
Fiorello carried the things. They walked out of the hospital together. He put everything in the trunk and opened the car door for Maggie.
Maggie got into the car, thinking about the wrecked car and feeling a bit regretful. "You bought that car for me just a few months ago; it's a pity."
"I'll buy you another one." Fiorello smiled. "The insurance company will compensate; getting a new one won't be a problem."
Maggie smiled. "Fiorello, I feel like you can read my mind."
Fiorello said, "You worry about money; I worry about you."
Those words touched Maggie, and she smiled, "I'm lucky to have met you, Fiorello; I truly feel fortunate."
Fiorello smiled. "If I have the chance, I'll go to church to pray and thank God for giving me such a good wife."
Maggie felt great. "Fiorello, your words are getting more and more touching. I'll text my mom. Otherwise, she won't know I've been discharged and will keep going to the hospital."
Maggie took out her phone and sent a message.
Upon learning that Maggie had been discharged, Arya replied: [Got it, go home and rest well.]
Maggie found it strange. Looking at the reply, she muttered, "Fiorello, I feel like my mom has been acting strange lately. She has been very mysterious. She must be hiding something from me."
Fiorello said, "I haven't noticed; ask your mom about it later."
That was Maggie's plan as well.
Maggie and Fiorello returned to Cityhomes West, breathing in the air at home; Maggie felt completely at ease.
"Nowhere is as comfortable as home; East or west, home is the best." Maggie walked to the balcony and looked at the plants she had nurtured, all still thriving.
"You rest for a while; I'll cook the pasta," Fiorello said as he entered the kitchen.
Soon, Fiorello cooked two bowls of pasta; Maggie was truly hungry and finished it quickly.
Seeing Maggie finished the meal, Fiorello was content; he cleared the dishes and went to wash them.
Maggie sat on a chair, watching Fiorello bustling around, feeling especially happy.
After washing up in the kitchen, Fiorello said, "Maggie, I need to go to the company this afternoon. You rest at home. I'll be back soon. I'll have Olivia come over to keep you company."
"You focus on your work; don't worry about me; I'll go to sleep."
"Alright."
Seeing Maggie actually go to sleep, Fiorello left with peace of mind.
As Maggie heard the door close in the bedroom, she immediately went to the balcony to see if Fiorello had truly left before putting on her shoes and heading out.
Maggie was going to the prison to see Sam.
There were lingering questions in her heart that needed answers.
