Chapter 403 Kimberly was Here Again
Emily's behavior was way over the top.
Paul grabbed Emily's hand and snapped, "Quit making a scene. If I hadn't come, would you be begging on the streets or back in the orphanage?"
Shaking off Paul, Emily went to Maggie, almost in tears. "I have a mom. I want to live with my mom."
If Emily's intentions weren't so nasty, Maggie might've adopted her to keep Adalia company.
But Emily, desperate for attention, had ditched Adalia and even tried to hurt her. Maggie couldn't keep her.
Paul stood up, pointed at Emily, and yelled, "That's not your real mom. You're stuck with me. You're not lucky enough to be Ms. Miller's daughter. Come with me now, or you'll end up begging."
"No, she is my mom." Emily clung to Maggie's hand, crying. "Mom, I was wrong. I won't ditch Adalia again. I'll be good, I'll take care of her. I don't want to go with Paul."
Emily had heard from Arya that they were moving to a big mansion, like the ones on TV, with lots of maids and servants. She was excited to live like a princess.
Emily still hoped to move to the new house, where she could get lots of toys and pretty clothes.
Maggie didn't know what Emily was thinking. Seeing her cry so sadly, it was hard not to feel moved.
Maybe it was because she was a mother now that her heart was softer.
But it was just a moment of softness. Maggie still didn't change her mind. "Emily, your dad loves you too. Go back with him, study hard, live well. I'll come to see you."
"No." Emily cried her heart out. "Mom, I want to go with you. You promised to take me to the new house. I'll have my own room, Mom."
"Let's go, stop crying." Paul grabbed Emily, "That's not your real mom. I adopted you. Legally, I'm your guardian. Why cling to Ms. Miller? You just want to live a good life with Ms. Miller. That doesn't belong to you. Give it up."
Paul didn't care if Emily wanted to go or not. He dragged her outside.
Arya saw how rough Paul was and said, "Be gentle, don't be so harsh on the child."
"She's just a brat." Paul picked her up and tucked her under his arm. "Ms. Miller, I'm taking her back."
Maggie stood up and said, "Mr. Sanchez, I suggest you find a different way to interact with Emily. The more you oppose her, the more rebellious she'll be."
"I'm just impatient." Paul scratched his head. "We're leaving."
Paul carried Emily away.
Emily struggled, shouting, "Paul, let me go. I'm a rich lady. I want to find my real mom. Help, Paul is kidnapping a child."
Arya was stunned to see this side of Emily for the first time. "Emily is too rebellious."
Maggie watched Paul and Emily leave and said, "I hope Emily understands that she actually has a very good father."
Paul was indeed good to Emily. Even when she screamed and bit him, he just frowned and didn't hit her.
After they left, Maggie said, "Mom, let's go back to the hospital. Dulce is there alone with Adalia and can't manage everything."
After Maggie left this morning, Fiorello had found Gregory's whereabouts and gone out.
Dulce came to visit Adalia and stayed to help take care of her.
As soon as Maggie stepped out of the café, she got a call from Dulce. "Maggie, Mrs. Kimberly Flores is here. The Flores family knows Adalia is your daughter, and they're causing a scene."
Hearing this, Maggie's heart tightened, and she hurried to the hospital.
