Chapter 664 Really Lost His Mind
Dulce slapped her thigh, "Maggie, I have something to do, I got to go."
Dulce quickly left.
Fiorello and Maggie exchanged a glance, and Maggie said with a smile, "Dulce is always in such a rush. She actually feels very insecure about relationships. She's been deceived a few times before, and now that Francis is ignoring her, she's definitely overthinking things."
Fiorello said, "I can tell. Last time, she saw me having dinner with my cousin and misunderstood."
Maggie laughed, "Dulce explained that to me. She and Francis got together thanks to that misunderstanding you caused."
"Hmm?" Fiorello was interested in hearing more about it.
Maggie shrugged and recounted the story. Fiorello smiled, "What a coincidence. But I can see that your good friend takes things very seriously."
Maggie said, "Trust is mutual. She just started dating Francis, so it's normal to feel insecure. Just like when you and I first started."
Maggie suddenly stopped talking, feeling a bit awkward thinking about the early days with Fiorello.
Fiorello, however, was curious, "What about you and me?"
Maggie glared at him, "First, tell me, was it you who dealt with Samwise?"
"When it comes to rivals, I show no mercy," Fiorello's eyes turned cold. "If I didn't deal with him, he would keep showing up. Although he wasn't a real threat, he was an eyesore. So I took care of it. He brought it upon himself."
Maggie looked at Fiorello speechlessly. What he considered a minor issue was everything to the Gamgee Family. Their factory went bankrupt, and Samwise ended up in jail.
If Samwise hadn't tried to blackmail Fiorello, Fiorello wouldn't have been so ruthless.
Adalia, who was drawing, ran over and tugged at Fiorello's hand, signaling him to look at her drawing.
Adalia could now use gestures to express many things.
Fiorello picked up Adalia and said, "Let me see what Adalia has drawn."
Adalia gestured with her little hands: a bird, a big tree, and a river.
Every time Maggie saw Adalia using gestures, she felt guilty.
Adalia could no longer speak.
Fiorello went to look at Adalia's drawing, occasionally offering praise and encouragement. Maggie took a deep breath as she listened.
Maggie hadn't told Fiorello about Adalia's biological father. Without any concrete evidence, she didn't want to disgust Fiorello with the matter.
Maggie saw Arya sitting in the yard, lost in thought. She walked over, supporting her waist, "Mom, what's wrong?"
Arya quickly helped Maggie sit down, "Why are you out here? Didn't Fiorello just come back?"
"He's with Adalia," Maggie said. "Mom, are you thinking about Dad?"
"I can't get in touch with your dad again, and I'm worried. Last time this happened, he ended up paralyzed. Do you think they might have poisoned him again?"
Maggie looked at her mother and asked, "Mom, deep down, you still haven't let go of Dad, have you?"
Arya quickly denied it, "No, even if it were just a friend or someone I knew, I'd be worried if I couldn't reach them."
Maggie half-jokingly, half-seriously said, "Mom, should I introduce you to someone? That way, you can shift your focus and not think so much."
Arya immediately felt embarrassed, "A daughter introducing someone to her mom? People would laugh at me. I've never thought about remarrying. I'm just waiting for you to have the baby so I can help take care of it."
"I still have a few months before the baby is born. How about you go on a trip with Fiorello's mom?" Maggie suggested with a smile. "You can go for a month, and by the time you come back, it'll be almost time. Once the baby is born, you'll be too busy to travel."
Arya shook her head, "No, I won't go. By the way, I ran into Olivia a few days ago. She has some brain issues and doesn't even recognize me. Frank said Olivia basically doesn't recognize anyone now. Frank is busy, so I thought I might go take care of Olivia when I have time. Isabella made the mistake, but Olivia is pitiful."
Arya pointed to her head.
Since Isabella went to prison, Olivia's mental state had deteriorated. She often locked herself at home, making her condition worse.
Maggie understood her mother's feelings. After all, they were sisters, and Arya couldn't help but feel some compassion.
Compassion aside, things had reached a point of no return.
"Mom, it's up to you," Maggie said, not wanting to say more.
Arya asked, "Wasn't Jenny arrested? Maggie, how many years will she get?"
