Chapter 407 Cliché Novel Plot

Maggie's premarital pregnancy was enough for Kimberly to ignore all her good qualities and blow it out of proportion, questioning her character.

'If Maggie got pregnant before marriage, she's probably untrustworthy and might cheat during marriage too,' Kimberly thought, getting angrier as if Maggie had already cheated, making judgments based on assumptions.

Kimberly slammed the table, fuming, "She's a vixen. I bet the baby isn't even a Flores. I'm going to have someone investigate."

Seeing Kimberly's reaction, Jenny was secretly pleased but pretended to be concerned. "Kimberly, if Maggie's baby isn't Fiorello's, then whose is it?"

Kimberly snapped, "I'll find out. Let's see how Maggie explains herself then."

"Kimberly, if this is true, it could ruin the Flores family's reputation, and Fiorello might not believe it. We should investigate quietly," Jenny said. "If the baby isn't Fiorello's, what will you do?"

Kimberly thought about how much Fiorello adored Maggie. Even if they found something, he might not believe it. But if there was another man, the baby couldn't stay.

Kimberly didn't want to scare Jenny with these dirty matters, so she said, "I'll handle it."

Jenny felt relieved. As long as Kimberly was suspicious, it would be easy to fabricate a story.

"Kimberly, it's cold. Let me take you back," Jenny said kindly.

"Alright, Jenny, you're the best," Kimberly said, finding some comfort.

Meanwhile, Maggie had no idea Kimberly was plotting again.

Maggie was dropping off Dulce at the hospital parking lot when Dulce said, "Maggie, I don't think Mrs. Kimberly Flores is easy to deal with. She's always up to something."

Maggie smiled bitterly. "I can't provoke her, but I can avoid her."

"Everyone in the Flores family is fine, except Mrs. Kimberly Flores. She's always causing trouble," Dulce said, then asked, "Maggie, do you really not remember the man from Happy Pub? Do you have any idea who Adalia's father is?"

Maggie had thought about it but couldn't remember. That night was a blur.

Maggie shook her head. "I don't know."

She wasn't completely honest because sometimes, when she was with Fiorello, she had vague memories that made her think the man from five years ago might be him. But she knew that was impossible.

Dulce sighed, "I'm just afraid that man will show up one day. I'm worried Fiorello won't accept it, and the Flores family won't back down."

Maggie had thought about this too and was scared.

She joked, "If that man shows up and sees Adalia has become a Flores with billions in inheritance, he might be tempted. He might even fight for custody. Isn't that how those novels go?"

Maggie worried that a clichéd plot might become reality.

Her recent experiences were bizarre enough to write a novel about a Cinderella marrying into a wealthy family.

Seeing Maggie still joking, Dulce felt relieved and teased, "There might be another version. Adalia's father could be Fiorello, and you two had a one-night stand years ago. That's how novels are written these days. I've even fantasized about meeting a tycoon, stealing some sperm, and staging a return with a child, getting a few billion in alimony."

Maggie laughed. "You're selling your child."

"Selling to the child's father isn't illegal," Dulce laughed. "I think it's fascinating. I'll write a novel like that someday."

Maggie laughed. "Dreams are fine, but don't daydream while driving. Stay safe."

"Alright, you go back, Maggie. Don't catch a cold. I'm off," Dulce said, getting into her BMW and driving away.

Maggie stood there for a while, thinking about Eleanor and Joseph leaving in a hurry. She called Fiorello.
