Chapter 468 Surrender

Jenny screamed and called for help right away. She put on a great show, dialing 911 for both the cops and an ambulance, acting all frantic.

When Kimberly's driver showed up, he found her lying there, not moving an inch.

Fiorello tracked down the mall using Kimberly's phone. By the time he got there, it was too late; she had no pulse.

Jenny was on her knees, crying.

Fiorello seemed to have seen this coming. He was only briefly shocked when he saw Kimberly's body. He figured Maggie was behind this. His worst fear had come true.

Fiorello squatted down, wiped his face, and then punched the wall in frustration.

Joseph, seeing Kimberly's body, was a wreck. He rushed over, holding her and crying, "Mom! Who did this?"

Jenny sobbed. "It looked like Maggie. When I came to find Mrs. Flores, I saw Maggie running out of the bathroom, all panicked, with blood on her hands. When I went in, Mrs. Flores was already lying in a pool of blood."

Joseph asked the driver, "Did you see Maggie do it?"

The driver replied, "I don't know. Mrs. Flores asked me to put something in the car. She had an appointment with Ms. Holmes. When Ms. Holmes arrived, I told her Mrs. Flores went to the bathroom. She didn't come out for a long time, so Ms. Holmes went to check."

Jenny added, "Then I saw Maggie running out of the bathroom in a panic and found Mrs. Flores like this."

Fiorello stared at Kimberly's body, silent. His emotions were all over the place, and his cold, intimidating look made everyone keep their distance.

When the cops arrived, they quickly checked out the scene. They found Maggie on the mall's surveillance footage, showing she had been following Kimberly, waiting for the right moment.

Since Kimberly was the victim, the police worked fast. They examined the weapon and did an autopsy, getting results within two hours.

Before the cops could arrest Maggie, she had already turned herself in.

The weapon had only Maggie's fingerprints. Kimberly died from a stab wound made by a fruit knife, making Maggie the prime suspect.

Fiorello sat in the police station, listening to the cops explain the case and the autopsy results. "Mr. Flores, according to the autopsy, Mrs. Flores died from a ruptured heart. The wound matches the fruit knife, which has your wife's fingerprints.

The killer seemed to really hate the victim. There are two wounds on Mrs. Flores, meaning she was stabbed again after the first wound didn't kill her. The second stab was fatal. Mr. Flores, can you tell us about any issues between Mrs. Flores and your wife?"

The cops were shocked too. Maggie actually killed Kimberly. They wondered what kind of grudge or hatred could drive her to do that.

The police also found out about Maggie's recent miscarriage and tried to connect the dots, but only the Flores family knew the full story.

Losing her child, of course, she was filled with hate. Fiorello believed she did it, so he didn't think there was any hidden truth.

Fiorello thought for a few seconds and said, "I want to see my wife."

Given Fiorello's status, the cops didn't make it hard for him. "Maggie is being interrogated next door. It should be over soon, and then you can see her."

The interrogation with Maggie went smoothly because she confessed as soon as she got to the station. She admitted to killing Kimberly.

Maggie was calm and numb the whole time, with blood still on her hands.

After the interrogation, the cops set up a meeting for Fiorello and Maggie alone.

Just last night, they were in bed together. Now, just a few hours later, they were meeting at the police station.

Seeing the blood on Maggie, Fiorello showed little emotion. He asked the cops to bring a basin of hot water and a warm towel and turned up the heat in the room.

When he made the request, he said, "My wife recently had a miscarriage and can't catch a cold. Thank you."

These words moved the officers.

Maggie sat on a cushioned stool, looking at Fiorello with empty eyes, a bitter smile on her face. "I killed her. I avenged our child. I have nothing to say. I'm willing to accept any consequences."

Fiorello didn't say a word. He quietly walked to the basin, wrung out the warm towel, and gently took Maggie's hand to wipe the blood off.
