Chapter 699 Bottled Up

Talking to smart people was effortless.

Maggie said, "I'll leave Melissa to you. By the way, you mentioned before that Melissa was selling fake goods. I just overheard her on the phone. Just a heads-up, Timothy is the legal representative."

Mark instantly understood what Maggie meant and sighed, "Timothy has always doted on Melissa, fulfilling her every request. He secretly donated bone marrow to her without considering his health. Ever since the donation, Timothy's health has deteriorated. Sooner or later, Melissa will be the death of him."

Maggie deliberately said, "Dad, didn't you say before that donating bone marrow doesn't affect the donor's health?"

Mark gave an embarrassed smile, "Maggie, that's all in the past. Let's not bring it up. I was confused back then."

Maggie didn't believe Mark was confused. It was just that at that time, she had no value and could be discarded at any moment.

Now Mark knew she was valuable and reliable, so he changed his opinion.

Maggie didn't blame Mark because that's human nature.

Maggie stared at Mark and asked, "Do you already know who poisoned you?"

Mark fell silent, nodded, but didn't say who it was.

Maggie didn't press further and said, "So, what are you planning to do about it?"

If Mark wasn't saying, it must be someone close to him.

If it were Ashley, given Mark's cold and selfish nature, he would have sent her to the police for investigation long ago.

So, it could only be Melissa or Timothy.

Both of them were suspects. Timothy wanted the company and doted on his sister Melissa, so poisoning Mark was possible.

Melissa was also a suspect.

Whoever it was, it was up to Mark to decide.

Mark looked at Maggie and laughed, "It's tough."

"Let me remind you, be careful of raising a tiger to bring trouble." Maggie had suffered from this before. She was kind to Isabella, but Isabella was ruthless to Adalia.

She never actively harmed Jenny, but Jenny saw her as an enemy, causing trouble with Kimberly, endangering her child's life, and even wanting her dead.

Mark nodded, "Dad knows what to do."

"Alright, I'll take Katie and Nate back to Sunset Hills first. I've arranged a hotel for you. I'll send the details to your phone."

If it were just Mark, staying at Sunset Hills would be fine. However, Maggie had to be cautious with Melissa.

Fiorello and Holden were enough for the second half of the newborn party. Maggie called Arya and took the babies back.

There were too many people at the newborn party, and Maggie was worried about a repeat of what happened at the wedding.

Although Jenny was caught, there was still no news about Kyle, who had helped Jenny last time.

Maggie took the babies, and Eleanor, worried, followed them back to Sunset Hills.

Seeing Eleanor return, Arya stayed in the room with Adalia, who was not coming out.

The less they saw each other, the fewer conflicts there would be.

Fiorello came back late, having drunk quite a bit. Worried about the alcohol smell affecting the baby, Maggie sent Fiorello to take a shower.

Fiorello had been busy all day and was very tired. After showering, he sat on the sofa to relax, watching Maggie in her nightgown holding their daughter. A surge of desire rose within him.

"Maggie, you've become even more attractive after having the baby."

Fiorello's eyes were fixed on her waist and hips, feeling parched.

Maggie glanced at him, "Hold it in."

Didn't she know what he was thinking?

Fiorello laughed, "Maggie, I've been holding it in for a year. If I don't use it soon, I'll be in trouble."

He was teasing Maggie; he wouldn't disregard her health.

Maggie ignored Fiorello. Seeing Katie asleep in her arms, she handed the baby to the nanny to take to the nursery.

Katie and Nate had dedicated nannies to take care of them at night, so Maggie didn't need to.

The babies woke up two or three times a night for formula, and Maggie couldn't handle it alone. Fiorello had to work during the day and needed a good night's rest.

Maggie had wanted to send Fiorello to the guest room, but he refused to sleep apart from her.

Not wanting to inconvenience herself, she decided to leave the babies with the nannies.

Fiorello was mainly concerned about Maggie. Her health wasn't great, and staying up all night with the babies would take a toll on her.

After sending the babies away, Maggie returned to the room and saw Fiorello asleep on the sofa. She walked over, sat on his lap, and whispered in his ear, "Didn't you say you'd be in trouble if you held it in? How come you're asleep?"
