Chapter 655 Luring the Snake Out of Its Hole
The night passed quickly.
Jenny didn't sleep all night. She took a fruit knife and went to the appointment.
This time, she didn't wear finger cots. After they became unusable at the hospital yesterday, she hadn't worn them again.
Now, she didn't need them anymore.
Jenny arrived at the place Maggie mentioned, but she didn't show herself immediately. Instead, she disguised herself and hid among the crowd.
She had to make sure Maggie came alone.
At this moment, Maggie was at home. Fiorello wouldn't let her go out to meet anyone.
Fiorello sent Brian over. As soon as Christina appeared, he would bring her back.
Brian had already arrived at the scene but hadn't seen anyone yet.
There were too many people here, and Brian couldn't pinpoint anyone immediately.
Maggie received a Facebook message from someone marked as "Christina": [Maggie, are you here? I've arrived.]
Seeing the message, Maggie said to Fiorello, "Christina is here. I'll ask her for the exact location now."
Maggie typed: [Where are you? I'm here too, but I don't see you.]
Jenny replied: [Wait for me at Starbucks. I'll come to you. It'll be easier that way.]
Maggie wanted to get the other person's location so Brian could pinpoint her first, but Jenny refused to say where she was, only that she would come to Maggie.
Maggie showed the chat record to Fiorello. Fiorello frowned, "This Christina is very cautious."
"If I don't go, she definitely won't show up," Maggie said. "How about this, I'll go over. With you and Brian there, it should be fine."
"No way. I won't let you go into any danger," Fiorello said. "Even if you just trip and fall, the consequences would be unimaginable. This Christina is coming for you; we can't be careless."
Just as Fiorello finished speaking, his phone rang. It was a call from one of his subordinates.
The identification results were out.
The person on the other end said, "The identification results show they are biological father and daughter."
Upon hearing this, Fiorello's face changed dramatically. He immediately looked at Maggie, "You guessed right."
Maggie asked, "What?"
"Christina is Jenny, and Jenny is Christina. The identification results show she is Kevin's biological daughter."
Hearing this, Maggie felt a chill down her spine.
She had been so close to Jenny before. Given Jenny's hatred for her, and with her being pregnant, she was in constant danger whenever Jenny had the chance.
Maggie was puzzled, "Then why did the fingerprint comparison fail before?"
"That's not important now. Jenny is definitely on Main Street, waiting for you to show up," Fiorello said, his expression becoming serious. "It seems she's already on alert. If we let her escape this time, it'll be hard to catch her again."
"Then let me go and lure Jenny out. As long as I go, she'll definitely show up."
"No," Fiorello quickly thought of a solution. He made a phone call, "Saskia Dixon, go to Main Street now. Contact Brian, and you need to disguise yourself as Maggie."
Saskia was one of Fiorello's subordinates, best known for her makeup skills, which could mimic someone with about 70-80% accuracy.
After giving instructions, Fiorello took Maggie's phone and continued chatting with Jenny to keep her engaged.
To buy time, Fiorello, pretending to be Maggie, lied to Jenny, saying she felt a bit unwell and needed to use the restroom first, then they would meet at Starbucks.
This meant Saskia had at most half an hour to get to the Starbucks on Main Street.
After sending the message, Fiorello didn't respond to any further messages from Jenny until Saskia was in place. Brian also went to Starbucks first, waiting for Jenny to arrive. Only then did Fiorello reply to Jenny: [I'm at Starbucks now. Where are you? Let's check out the second floor first.]
The latter part was to dispel Jenny's suspicions.
Jenny, who was waiting impatiently on Main Street, saw the message and started walking towards Starbucks.
She was 300 feet away from Starbucks.
To lure Jenny into Starbucks, Saskia, disguised as Maggie, deliberately chose a window seat where she could be seen from outside the coffee shop.
Saskia had a fake belly strapped on, wore a wig styled like Maggie's usual hairstyle, and dressed in Maggie's typical attire. With the makeup, it was hard to tell the difference unless up close.
When Jenny reached the outside of the coffee shop, she saw "Maggie" sitting by the window. She felt a surge of joy and, seeing that "Maggie" was alone, relaxed a bit and walked into the coffee shop.
