Chapter 345 Secret Resolution

This wasn't the first time someone had said Adalia looked like Maggie and Fiorello.

Maggie said to Adalia, "Say hello to the ladies."

Adalia flashed a wave and chimed in, "Hey there, gorgeous ladies!"

The compliment sparked a wave of joy among the group, their admiration pouring out.

"Hey now, you're such a polite little one."

"Seriously, your manners are on point. So, what's your deal, cutie? How old are you? And what's your name?"

Adalia nodded in agreement and replied, "I'm almost five, and my name's Grace."

"Aw, I wish I had a daughter as lovely and sweet as you."

Emily chuckled, "You can't have a daughter without a man, and we all know that's not on your radar."

"Men are a dime a dozen. If I can't find the right one, I'll hit up a sperm bank and do it solo."

"Exactly! Kids without the drama of men."

Arya, feeling a bit out of touch with the youthful banter, settled in to listen. Being a single mom herself, she knew the challenges firsthand, but witnessing the capabilities of these young women filled her with hope.

Many of these women had bought homes and cars independently, while some men hesitated to include their partner's name on the deed for fear of being outmaneuvered.

Gone were the days of dependence; independent women were on the rise, let alone these ladies, who exuded wealth; whether from family fortunes or entrepreneurial success.

Mid-chat, Maggie caught sight of Holden and Joseph making a beeline for the rear lounge. A twinge of worry hit Maggie as she realized Eleanor and Kimberly were nowhere in sight.

Turning to Arya, she inquired, "Mom, have you seen Eleanor around?"

"I haven't seen her," Arya replied. "She greeted me briefly at the opening ceremony and then headed to the lounge. She hasn't crossed my path since then."

Maggie's intuition tingled as she noticed Fiorello making his way to the lounge as well. Standing abruptly, she instructed, "Mom, look after Adalia. I'll go check on things."

Inside the lounge, Kimberly had a near fainting spell earlier, and Eleanor had been assisting her in recuperating. To prevent any commotion in the main area, Eleanor had been keeping Kimberly settled in the lounge.

When Kimberly felt composed enough, she insisted on going to the front to locate Maggie and Fiorello. Unable to dissuade her, Eleanor summoned Joseph and the rest of the family to join them in the lounge, preferring privacy over a public spectacle.

Spotting Joseph, Kimberly erupted in frustration, "I can't believe I raised such a clueless son. You're all so scatterbrained; the family will end up childless because of you."

"Mom, what's going on?" Joseph, bewildered, feared yet another clash between Eleanor and Kimberly, turning to Eleanor for enlightenment.

Eleanor hesitated, just as Holden and Fiorello entered the scene.

Approaching the seething Kimberly, Fiorello inquired, "Grandma, who's rubbed you the wrong way this time?"

Before Fiorello could finish, Kimberly landed a stinging slap on his shoulder. "You've disappointed me beyond belief."
