Chapter 616 Adalia Goes Mad
Dulce cursed harshly; if Isabella were here, she could curse even worse.
Isabella used to go to Dulce's beauty salon for skincare, and Dulce would give her discounts and various offers.
Isabella seemed gentle and kind, but who knew she had such a malicious mind?
Dulce was very angry, "Maggie, is Adalia's voice really beyond cure? Isn't Dylan very skilled? He's Adalia's mentor; he should think of something."
Maggie shook her head: "I asked Dylan, and he's at a loss."
"A perfectly fine person, and now she's mute? Won't Adalia's future be ruined?" Dulce was furious and anxious.
"Keep your voice down, don't let Adalia hear you." Maggie glanced upstairs.
Adalia was playing with toys in her room upstairs, which was already a good sign.
Dulce quickly lowered her voice and said, "Maggie, now that Isabella has been caught and Adalia is back, don't be too sad. Maybe in the future, with advanced medical technology, Adalia's voice can be cured. Anything is possible. You're pregnant now, you need to take care of yourself."
"Yes." Maggie also pinned her hopes on the future. Having Adalia back was more important than anything.
There would always be a way to cure Adalia's voice.
Dulce asked, "Maggie, has Holden's issue been resolved?"
"Not yet," Maggie said. "Holden is still under investigation."
"Fiorello must have a way to get him out. I asked Francis, and there should be room for negotiation."
Maggie casually asked, "Do you still keep in touch with him often?"
"Occasionally." Dulce hadn't finished speaking when the phone rang; it was Francis calling.
Dulce felt awkward.
Dulce answered the call, and Francis asked her for help again, wanting her to sniff some evidence from a case.
Dulce complained about being used as a police dog but agreed, "Give me a moment, I'll be there in half an hour."
After hanging up, Dulce said goodbye to Maggie.
Maggie rarely smiled: "Go ahead, get busy."
"Then I'm off. Let me know if you need anything."
As soon as Dulce left, Maggie heard a noise upstairs and quickly went up.
In the children's room, Adalia was throwing things. Maggie was startled by Adalia's sudden outburst and rushed to hold her: "I'm here, Adalia, calm down, look at me, I'm here."
Adalia was screaming, and that's all she could do.
Maggie had no idea why Adalia suddenly acted this way. Arya heard the noise and ran upstairs too.
Seeing Adalia throwing a tantrum, Arya was afraid Adalia might hurt Maggie's belly and quickly took Adalia away: "Maggie, you go out first. I'll calm Adalia down. Don't hurt your belly."
Maggie was worried, but then she noticed a Peppa Pig toy thrown in the corner. It was a small toy.
Maggie instantly understood why Adalia suddenly went crazy. Isabella had hurt Adalia while dressed as Peppa Pig.
She quickly threw the Peppa Pig toy away and gently coaxed, "Adalia, you're safe now. No one will dare to hurt you. Don't be afraid. Come to me."
Adalia's emotions gradually calmed down, and she finally threw herself into Maggie's arms. Maggie felt very distressed and held Adalia tightly.
Arya was also crying on the side.
Dulce drove to the police station to help Francis.
After finishing, Dulce was ready to leave.
Francis stopped her, "Why haven't you been coming to the station lately?"
Dulce laughed, "Francis, this is a police station. Why would I come here for no reason? People who come here are either on business or in trouble. I'm a good person."
Francis put his hands in his pockets and just looked at her. Dulce felt a bit uncomfortable being stared at and said, "I'm going back to the beauty salon."
"I'm just getting off work too, I'll give you a ride."
"I have a car."
"Then give me a ride, my car broke down."
A few minutes later, Francis got into Dulce's car. Dulce's memory was pretty good; she remembered where Francis lived and navigated directly there.
Dulce said, "Nowadays, what kind of man lets a girl give him a ride?"
