Chapter 1005 Drinking Makes People Braver

Anthony's face turned dark with anger. But at this moment, even with his face as dark as thunder, the drunken Jane wouldn't notice.

Anthony slammed the window shut and locked it.

"You want me dead?" Anthony grabbed Jane's waist with one hand and pinched her chin with the other, forcing her to look up and meet his gaze.

Anthony offered Jane a suggestion. "Do you know the easiest way to kill me?"

Jane stared blankly at Anthony, unsure if she even heard him.

Anthony leaned in, his lips almost touching Jane's red lips, and said, "In bed, when you're underneath me, I'm most vulnerable. You could stab me to death with one blow."

Jane fixed her gaze on Anthony. Her expression was serious as if she was contemplating whether to take the risk and end Anthony's life with a single stab.

Unexpectedly, Jane suddenly slapped Anthony.

Anthony was stunned, too surprised to react, allowing Jane to break free of his embrace.

Jane snorted, glaring at Anthony, saying, "I wouldn't sleep with you! There are plenty of young, handsome men willing to sleep with me for free. Why would I want an old man with a fiancée like you?"

Anthony rubbed his temples. He wanted to curse but did not know where to start. Besides, he couldn't bring himself to scold Jane.

"I'm going to sleep," Jane said, glaring at Anthony with disdain.

Anthony understood that Jane wanted him to leave and she didn't want to sleep with him.

Anthony reminded Jane, "This is the study and there's no bed."

Jane spun around in place, indeed finding no bed. Then she asked Anthony, "Where's the bed?"

"Next door, the bedroom."

Her mind was flooded with fleeting recollections. This suite seemed to have only one room and the owner of this suite was Anthony, not her.

'Why isn't it mine?' Jane thought.

The Watkins family no longer held the status it once had so Jane wasn't qualified to be invited to such event. She had followed Anthony up here.

'How pitiful!' Jane thought.

"Get out!" Jane didn't want to see Anthony now, "Get out! That's your bed. I won't sleep in it!"

Anthony had been scolded by Jane, given a death plan, and even slapped. On top of that, she hadn't listened to him during the day.

Anthony was furious and had no desire to deal with Jane for the moment. After ensuring the study windows were closed and she wouldn't get into any trouble, he went to the bathroom to take a shower.

Anthony thought that when he returned to the study after his shower, he would find her sleeping. However, Jane never let herself be wronged. She might have sneaked into the bedroom to sleep.

Unexpectedly, he found Jane had retrieved the wine Anthony had taken away and was sitting at the desk. She had already finished the remaining wine by herself.

Jane was still holding the wine bottle, tilting it downwards, trying to pour out more wine, and peering into the bottle's mouth.

"Jane! Who allowed you to steal the wine?" Anthony strode over, took the empty wine bottle and glass away, and smelled the strong scent of alcohol on Jane.

Jane seemed to be soaked in wine.

Anthony's temples throbbed with anger. Just as he pulled her up, Jane wrapped herself around him like a water snake suddenly.

"Anthony."

Jane murmured in a tone of seeking support.

Anthony stiffened, guessing that Jane had once again lost track of time.

"Anthony, don't be mad. I didn't mean to drink the wine," Jane said, her arms around Anthony's neck, her voice carrying a hint of childishness. "I was afraid you'd reject me, so I drank the wine."

"What do you mean?" Anthony did not respond to Jane's embrace, his hands hanging at his sides.

Jane stood on tiptoe, whispering into Anthony's ear, "Drinking alcohol makes people more courageous!"

Anthony laughed, "Jane, of all people, you are not a coward."

The drunken Jane felt aggrieved. "I'm afraid you'll reject me."

Anthony was momentarily lost in thought as he recalled the night Jane came to him when she was eighteen, saying something similar. Jane had said, "Anthony, I'm afraid you'll reject me, so I chose my birthday. You can't refuse me!"

"Jane, you're not thinking clearly. Don't try to seduce me," Anthony said, his gaze intense, suppressing the turmoil in his body. "You should know that I'm not a gentleman."

'I am not a gentleman and I may take advantage of someone when she is drunk,' Anthony thought.

Jane didn't know if her mind was clear, but she thought it was over three years ago and was very certain of what she wanted now.

So she stood on tiptoe and kissed Anthony on his thin lips.

After the kiss, Jane was a bit afraid to look at Anthony, instinctively lowering her eyes. After half a second, perhaps out of her pride, she raised her head again and looked directly at Anthony.

Jane's expression seemed to say, "I kissed you, so what?"

Jane was like that in her teenage years.

Anthony felt a pang in his heart. He felt now as if all the past grievances had never happened, as if they had never been apart for those three years.

Those three years was just a nightmare.

Anthony gazed deeply at Jane's radiant face and said hoarsely, "Jane, I'm giving you one more chance."

Jane didn't understand what he meant. This time, she was bolder, grabbing the collar of Anthony's robe and pulling him down, forcing Anthony to bend to accommodate her height.

This time, the sound of Jane's kiss was quite loud.

Jane was satisfied, but before her smile could fully bloom, she felt a dizzying spin, and her body was pressed onto the wide desk by Anthony.

Anthony leaned in and kissed her.

It wasn't until Anthony started undressing Jane that she realized what he intended to do.

"Anthony, I'm... I'm afraid it'll hurt..."

Anthony remembered that night when Jane was eighteen, she had looked at him the same way, trembling and saying affectedly, "Anthony, I'm afraid it'll hurt. Be gentle, okay?"

Jane, obviously extremely spoiled, still took the initiative to approach Anthony.

Jane had already fallen asleep, nestled obediently in Anthony's arms.

In the past three years, Jane's features hadn't changed much. At a glance, she still looked like the young girl from three years ago.

Anthony carried Jane to the bathroom, cleaned her up, and tucked her back into bed. Jane didn't wake up the entire time.

Anthony lay next to Jane and wanted to smoke a cigarette, but when he saw Jane sleeping next to him, he resisted the urge.

The next day at noon, Jane woke up, feeling a headache at first.

Jane rubbed her temples and sat up, realizing she was naked.

Jane's heart skipped a beat, then she noticed she was only occupying half of the bed. The other half was empty but showed signs of having been slept on.

"Awake?"

Anthony walked into the bedroom upon hearing the noise, just seeing Jane pulling up the fallen blanket to cover herself.

Anthony raised an eyebrow and thought, 'This makes it seem like I haven't seen it before, and I have just seen it. What is she covering?'

Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
