Chapter 201 I'll give you a woman

This time, apart from aphrodisiacs, Hailey also brought other spices, fearing that the drugs might prove to be inconvenient to use. As Oliver headed toward the restroom, she seized the moment to discreetly add the spices into the incense burner, combining them with the hotel's own blend, before lighting it.

When Oliver went to the restroom, he sent a message to Wyatt, instructing him to monitor Natalie closely. In his opinion, even if Natalie had lost her mind, it was unlikely for her to be with Adrian. Hailey must have concocted some naive scheme, thinking to use Adrian as a means to create turmoil. Perhaps if it were a month ago, he might have been deceived, but now, he just thought the scheme was foolish.

Apart from that, Oliver also felt a bit upset. He did not understand why Natalie was angry and even resorted to drinking alone in the bar. If it were not for his desire to rid himself of Hailey, the bothersome and troubling woman, he would not have left the bar so easily.

Upon Oliver's return, Hailey promptly stood up from the sofa and said gently and kindly, “Oliver, I poured you some water.”

Oliver’s expression did not change as he scanned the room and his gaze landed on the incense burner.

Upon seeing this, Hailey hastened to explain, “I requested this fragrance. It’s subtle and refined, intended to soothe and alleviate fatigue. If you don’t like it, I’ll put it out now."

"No need," Oliver said with a hint of sarcasm as he took a seat on a single sofa at the opposite end of the room, "You have five minutes."

‘Five minutes is enough!’

Hailey remained silent; she had already said everything to sow discord between Oliver and Natalie. She knew she would only raise suspicion if she said anymore. She did not dare to divulge the fact that Natalie had married him in her place, worried that he might deduce her previous contempt for him and her reluctance to wed.

Hailey attempted to engage Oliver with a smattering of topics; her only aim was to let the time pass until the drugs began to affect him.

Oliver's interest dwindled further, and he remained silent throughout.

Hailey observed his impassive demeanor with a blend of anxiety and anticipation. She was familiar with his arrogance. She feared him yet craved his attention. It was this mesh of conflicting and intense emotions that gave her the courage to drug Oliver.

Taking a few sips of water to quell her parched throat, Hailey began to feel dizzy, her thoughts muddled.

"Oliver, I'm feeling somewhat dizzy. What's going on..."

Her head was indeed spinning. Her body warmed up from the fragrance she had inhaled. However, she did not lose sight of her goal, attempting to stumble toward Oliver, hoping to fall into his arms. She wanted to claim him as his own and become his woman. She yearned for him to cherish her as he did Natalie.

Oliver, however, stood up abruptly, thwarting Hailey's approach. She fell forward onto the sofa in a graceless heap, her posture awkward.

"Oliver, don’t you feel hot?”

Hailey made several attempts to right herself but eventually collapsed to the floor; her vision blurred; her body weak. She was perplexed by Oliver's indifference and struggled to shed her garments in her impatience.

Oliver looked down at her with a frosty detachment. The sight of her pale, exposed body evoked in him no more feeling than if he were looking at frozen meat in a grocery store, perhaps even with a hint of revulsion.

He had introduced the drug into her glass; a substance that was harmless in itself but capable of inducing deep sleep rapidly. Had Hailey not harbored malicious intentions, she would not have ended up in such a predicament. As for the spices she used, he had long been inoculated against such effects, having faced similar attempts in his youth.

The only exception would have been if the woman in front of him was Natalie.

Every couple of minutes, Hailey would lapse into unconsciousness. Her clothes were in disarray, and under the influence of the fragrance, she slipped into a deep sleep, but her moans continued.

At this time, Oliver called Isaac. As soon as the call connected, he asked, “Do you have a need for a woman?”

"Huh?"

Isaac's confusion was palpable through the phone. Aside from Oliver’s early advice about using protection in his younger years, Oliver rarely meddled in his romantic life.

Oliver said tonelessly, "I have a woman available. Are you interested?”

"Who is it?" Isaac asked curiously. He wondered which woman had the courage to seduce Oliver, especially when Natalie was at the same place.

"Hailey," Oliver replied patiently, “Are you interested or not?”

"No, absolutely not!" Isaac's response was immediate and vehement. He recoiled at the thought of being involved with a woman once engaged to Oliver; it was unpalatable. Moreover, Hailey was also despicable. Not only was she involved with Adrian, but she also plotted against Natalie. All in all, he had no interest at all. In fact, he felt offended that Oliver even called him to ask him about such a thing.

"Then, find me a man," Oliver said.

"Do you mean any man will suffice?" Isaac sought clarification.

"Yes," Oliver confirmed.

Although the drug's effect was mild, Hailey had hoped the added spices would overcome Oliver's strong will. However, she briefly regained consciousness after falling asleep.

Upon awakening, Hailey saw a figure looming over her. Filled with excitement, she raised her lips to kiss the man, and the man reciprocated her fervent kiss.

After her conversation with Lyra, Natalie stepped into the elevator, only to encounter Wyatt, who seemed to be trying to hide from her.

Wyatt managed an awkward smile, greeting, "Good evening!"

"Why are you here?" Natalie asked, instinctively scanning their surroundings.

Anticipating her concern, Wyatt reassured, "There's no need to look further; it's just me here."

"OK."
Natalie was still irked by Oliver. After a brief exchange, she thanked Wyatt for his assistance at the bar and reminded him to rest well, indicating her intention to return.

However, Wyatt smiled and said, “I’m heading in the same direction.”

The duo entered the elevator together, unaware that they were about to cross paths with Oliver and Isaac in the corridor shortly after exiting the elevator.

The moment Natalie and Oliver's eyes met, their expressions were unreadable, and neither looked pleased.

Observing Oliver's silence, Natalie continued on her way without pause.

Oliver, meanwhile, pursed his lips. His imposing aura seemed to ease a little as he followed Natalie at a seemingly leisurely pace, deliberately maintaining a distance. However, if one looked closely, one could see from his pace that he was trying to catch up to Natalie.

Isaac and Wyatt shared a look, their expressions a mix of confusion and resignation. They were at a loss concerning Oliver's motives.

At this time, a group of women emerged from the bar and saw Oliver and Natalie. They looked visibly surprised.

“Oliver, Natalie?”

“What’s going on? Weren’t those two supposed to be…” one of the women said, puzzled.

“If they are here, then where are Hailey and Adrian?” someone asked.
Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
