Chapter 1007 Murder Plot

Aurora was now about eight months pregnant, and in a month, she could have a C-section, or in about a month and a half, she could give birth naturally.

"My time is valuable and I won't give it," Jane refused.

"The bracelet Jovan gave you, don't you want it?" Anthony realized that a gentle approach wasn't working, so he had to take a firmer stance..

Jane was taken aback.

When Jane turned eighteen, Jovan had given her an icy jade bracelet as a coming-of-age gift. It was also the last gift Jovan had given her over the years, and Jane cherished it deeply.

When Jane rushed to Southvale, she was worried about accidents at the Clark family's, so she took off the bracelet and put it in her suitcase.

But over the past few days, Jane hadn't seen it while taking things out of her suitcase.

Facing Jane's questioning and angry look, Anthony said, "The item is under the pillow in the guest room where you're staying. If you want it, go get it yourself."

In the end, Jane boarded the plane back to Southvale.

The first-class seat was very spacious.

Jane curled up on the side farthest from Anthony, making it clear that she didn't want to talk to him.

"If you don't want to stay at the Clark family, I'll take you to another place," Anthony said, his temper surprisingly good. "The house at Sunnydale Estates, didn't you like it before? We'll stay there."

Sunnydale Estates was a comfortable villa community, built four years ago. Even before it opened, it was already famous in the real estate industry. Jane had casually mentioned  that she wanted to buy a unit there for a vacation.

Jane hadn't expected Anthony to actually buy it.

Jane felt as if a hole had been torn in her heart, cold wind blowing through it.

Just because she liked it before didn't mean she still likes it now.

Even if she still liked it now, she wouldn't like it if it was bought by someone else's fiancé.

If she moved in now, would it be because her skin wasn't thick enough or her self-respect wasn't important enough?

Nowadays, some young girls sold their bodies and dignity for money and fame, becoming mistresses to avoid hard work.

But Jane, who had been the apple of her family's eye for 18 years, couldn't understand these young girls' thoughts.

If one trampled on their dignity when they had nothing left but dignity, what would they have left?

They arrived in Southvale the next morning.

From the airport to the Clark family villa, it was almost noon.

When the servants saw that Anthony had returned, they went into the house to inform the others, while another servant welcomed Anthony and Jane at the door.

Jane noticed the servant's gaze, as if saying, "Why is she back again? Didn't she leave?"

"Anthony, you're finally back!"

Aurora's cheerful voice stopped abruptly when she saw Jane.

Jane shrugged and said, "Don't misunderstand. I'm here to get something I left behind. I'll leave once I have it."

Jane went upstairs directly to the guest room she had stayed in. Nothing had changed and it was just as she had left it.

Jane found the icy jade bracelet under the pillow, examined it carefully in the light, and confirmed that it was indeed hers and not some fake Anthony had found. She breathed a sigh of relief.

With a smile on her face, Jane turned around to see Aurora standing behind her with her pregnant belly, her eyes cold and filled with malice.

Jane's heart tightened. "Aurora, please move aside."

"Jane, why haven't you left yet?" Aurora sneered, "I had Ann send you away, but you didn't go. I told you to get out of the country, but you didn't. What's so good about staying here?"

Jane sensed something was off with Aurora and just wanted to leave quickly. "I'll leave right now."

"Since you're already here, why don't you do me a favor?" Aurora walked towards Jane, saying, "If you don't go to the cruise dinner with Anthony and if you disappear right after the cruise dinner, maybe nothing will happen."

Jane's sense of foreboding grew stronger. She fixed her gaze on the gap beside Aurora, intending to dart past her.

'When an ordinary person collides with a pregnant woman, the ordinary person always loses.

'Both morality and law protect the vulnerable,' Jane thought.

"Jane!"

"What are you doing!"

Aurora suddenly lunged at Jane, but Jane sidestepped.

Unexpectedly, Aurora's eyes locked onto the new jade bracelet in Jane's hand, and without a word, she grabbed for it.

"Aurora, are you crazy? Let go! This is mine!" Jane disgusted Aurora even when she touched the bracelet Jovan had given her.

"Jane, what are you doing! Jane, stop it!" Aurora shouted.

Jane realized she might have fallen into one of Aurora's traps, but she couldn't let go of the bracelet and held it on tight.

The servants, hearing Aurora's voice, rushed upstairs.

Footsteps approached.

Aurora suddenly let go and fell to the ground, clutching her stomach in pain. In an instant, her face turned pale. "It hurts. My stomach hurts."

"Ms. Dewar!"

"Oh my God!"

Jane stood frozen, recalling scenes from TV dramas where women schemed against each other.

Jane sensed something was wrong with Aurora and guessed she might be trying to frame her. She no longer wanted to waste time with Aurora and just wanted to return to Paykston as soon as possible.

But Jane never expected that Aurora would use her pregnancy to set her up.

'Has Aurora gone mad? Isn't she the one who treasures this child the most?' Jane thought.

"Aurora!"

Anthony rushed in, bumping into Jane's shoulder.

The impact was not light. Jane, caught off guard, staggered. The force traveled from her shoulder to her arm and into her hand, causing her fingers to tremble instinctively.

The bracelet fell to the ground, shattering into pieces.

"Call a doctor! Call an ambulance! What are you standing around for!" Anthony shouted frantically.

"Yes!" The servants snapped out of their panic.

"It hurts so much, Anthony. It hurts so much!" Aurora wailed in pain, and soon red blood began to flow from her skirt.

Anthony supported Aurora, half-cradling her in his arms. His entire demeanor was like that of a demon from hell, filled with a terrifying coldness that even frightened Jane.

"Jane, you're so cruel!" Aurora, lying in Anthony's arms, glared at Jane with gritted teeth.

Jane felt a chill run through her entire body, her blood running cold.

'Indeed, Aurora intends to use the child to frame me,' Jane thought.

"I didn't," Jane replied calmly and coldly, not wanting to say more.

Jane looked at the shattered jade bracelet on the ground and felt weary.

She was tired of this relationship, of this conflict, of all the genuine or fake emotions, of the conspiracies and the deceptions.

She didn't want to explain, nor did she want to hold on anymore.

She let it all dissipate with the broken bracelet.

Aurora cried even more sorrowfully, clutching her stomach with one hand and Anthony's clothes with the other, saying in pain, "Anthony, the baby is innocent, the baby..."

"Don't worry, the child will be fine," Anthony interrupted Aurora.

Anthony's tone seemed calm and assured, but also determined.

That determination seemed to challenge the heavens, refusing to let the child in Aurora's womb leave this world.

Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
