Chapter 367 Change of Heart

"That’s exactly what I thought," Oliver said, "It’s nonsense. How can your brother take advantage of you?"

Oliver had never been worried about Natalie and Lucas from the beginning to the end. The duo were siblings regardless of whether they were connected by blood or not. What was there to be worried about? At most, he found Lucas to be an annoyance for disrupting his alone time with Natalie.

Oliver swiftly took a shower in the bathroom, returned to the bed, which was full of warmth, and held Natalie in his arms. He whispered in her ear, “Sweet dreams, Darling."

He did not make any unnecessary movements, mindful of her physical exhaustion, and gently held her in his arms.

"Has Hailey been found?" Natalie asked before falling asleep.

Oliver replied, "We’re still searching for her."

‘Even Oliver is unable to locate her…’ Natalie's uneasiness grew stronger, feeling like something bad was going to happen.

After Oliver returned, Natalie surprisingly slept soundly through the second half of the night. She slept until dawn.

Lucas and Lilian had already started arguing early in the morning.

As soon as Natalie came downstairs, Lilian complained to her.

Lucas feigned innocence and denied it. “I didn’t do anything. She’s lying. Don’t listen to her.”

Oliver had postponed too much work in the previous days and had to go to the company today, and Natalie accompanied him to the door.

Lilian quickly ran over, clung to the window of the Bentley Mulsanne, and whispered to Oliver, "Where’s Susan?"

"She went back to Tycoon City."

"Let me tell you, I only recognize Natalie as your wife, not Susan!"

"I only recognized Natalie as my wife as well. And Susan likes Arthur.”

Oliver did not understand what made the little girl have such a peculiar idea.

"Let me tell you, some women’s hearts change very fast. Arthur isn’t here. Who knows if she likes you now?” Lilian said indignantly, thinking about the bad women she read about in novels.

Oliver chuckled and asked, "Since when did you like Natalie so much? Weren’t you on Susan's side before?"

"That was before! People change!" Lilian prohibited Oliver from bringing up her past mistakes again.

Though Oliver appeared indifferent to Lilian's remarks on the surface, he could not help but reflect on them on his way to the company. Indeed, people do change.

"Charles," Oliver called out.

"Mr. Windsor?" Charles, seated in the passenger seat, immediately sensed that he was about to be asked a potentially difficult question.

"What do you think about Susan's feelings toward me?" Oliver asked.

"Mr. Windsor, I’m not very familiar with Susan, and I haven’t interacted with her much. As such, I’m not sure."

No sooner had Charles's voice faded than he caught Oliver's icy expression through the rearview mirror, which said, ‘What use are you if you know nothing?’

Quick to adapt, Charles promptly amended his statement. "But Mr. Windsor, both in the industry and online, there have been rumors suggesting that you and Susan are having… an affair. Perhaps…"

"Did you forget how to speak properly? Can’t you complete your sentence?” Oliver asked unkindly.

Actually, Charles had managed to communicate his point. Some matters were better left unspoken, especially in the presence of the individual concerned, and more so when that individual was one’s boss!

Susan felt unwilling. She did not want to return to Tycoon City. She had intended to go back quietly, but unexpectedly, she ran into a famous figure who had also arrived at the same airport at the same time.

A throng of fans and media reporters awaited at the airport.

Susan belonged to the fashion industry and had never maintained a low profile. Moreover, she was from the Hasting family. Due to her status as an upcoming designer and also her association with Oliver, she became rather newsworthy.

Unsurprisingly, the reporters took notice of her and began to follow her.

Natalie learned about this while she was in the company.

The outcomes of the recent Fashion Week auditions were out. She had fared quite well, selected by several famous brands.

Emily had made a selection that benefited both parties, eliminating some less valuable shows and arranging the most valuable ones for Natalie in an optimal sequence.

Natalie was reviewing the schedule and familiarizing herself with the process when she looked up to see Emily staring blankly at a video.

In the footage, Susan was seen leaving the crowd, shielded by a group of bodyguards, with a distinguished man by her side, displaying signs of closeness.

The man was handsome, dressed in a meticulously tailored suit and handcrafted leather shoes, embodying the epitome of refined luxury.

"Do you know him?" Natalie noticed Emily's unusual gaze toward the man.

Emily closed the video and smirked. "My former fiancé."

The shock on Natalie's face was unmistakable. "Isn’t it said that you and Joseph..."

"Joseph and I are innocent.” Emily interjected, gesturing dismissively toward the man in the video. “As for this man, he’s nothing but a fool.”

Seeing that Emily had no desire to talk about the matter, Natalie refrained from asking further questions.

However, upon leaving the company, Natalie went online to look at the video. At first glance, she felt that she resembled Emily's ex-fiancé a little, and upon closer examination, the similarity became even more pronounced, which took her by surprise. It was only after reading the comments that she discovered the man in the video was Samuel, the heir of the Hastings family and Susan's elder brother.

The resemblance between her and Samuel made sense, given her striking similarity to Susan.

For a brief moment, Natalie pondered over the possibility of having any blood relation with Samuel but quickly dismissed the thought, preferring not to entangle herself further with Susan's family.

Nonetheless, the revelation remained surreal - Emily's former fiancé was from the Hastings family, which meant that Susan and Emily almost became family. However, it was clear that Emily disliked Susan.

In the absence of Natalie and Susan, Fun Challenge experienced a notable decline in viewership.

Fortunately, Jane and the other participants provided enough entertainment to prevent the ratings from plummeting too drastically.

For Jane, however, Natalie's absence rendered the show dull. In the latter stages, her demeanor reflected boredom as she navigated the challenges with precision and ferocity.

While Jane dominated the competition, showcasing her impressive abilities, the internet buzzed with speculation about the simultaneous departure of Natalie and Susan.

Oliver, however, ordered a suppression of these rumors, and within a couple of days, they disappeared as if they had never existed.
