Chapter 1120 I'm Here to Pick Up My Wife
Jane and Natalie were chatting away, and before they knew it, the morning had flown by.
"Jane, the rumors about you online have been cleared up," Natalie said, scrolling through her phone. She suddenly paused and hesitated for a moment before showing Jane her screen.
It was a forum post from their social circle titled: [Aurora Confesses].
The post had two main points.
First, Aurora admitted to plotting against Jane, drugging her during her pregnancy, and pushing her down the stairs, which led to the miscarriage.
Second, Jane was not the homewrecker between Anthony and Aurora.
In their circle, news changed daily, so it wasn't easy to convince everyone. But Ann also confirmed that Jane wasn't a mistress and publicly stated that Aurora had plotted against her pregnancy and framed Jane.
The more Ann had hated Jane before, the more credible her defense of Jane seemed now.
"You and Mrs. Clark?" Natalie was shocked by Ann's change of heart, having seen firsthand how difficult and insulting Ann had been to Jane.
A bird perched on the ginkgo tree outside the sunroom.
Jane watched the bird for a moment, then said coldly, "She probably feels guilty."
But what good was guilt when the damage was done?
Seeing the post, Natalie felt a mix of anger and heartache. She had thought Jane's miscarriage was an accident, not realizing there were so many conspiracies involved!
Over the past year, how much had Jane endured alone?
Natalie suddenly remembered Anthony's mention in the post. "Jane, what's Anthony's attitude now that you're back?"
Natalie had seen the relationship between Jane and Anthony. There were only two possibilities: either they had peacefully broken up, or Anthony still had feelings for Jane.
If it were the latter, how could Anthony just let Jane come back?
"I don't know," Jane's eyelashes trembled slightly. Who knew what he was thinking?
Natalie got the gist. Anthony didn't want to let her go, but Jane had left smoothly.
"It doesn't matter; Jovan is back now, and you have us," she comforted Jane.
Jane wasn't alone. Even if Anthony wanted her back, it wouldn't be easy.
Not long after lunch, the Watkins family's new villa had guests again.
Jovan raised an eyebrow when he saw Oliver.
"Hello, Mr. Windsor." Although Jovan and Oliver were both in the Paykston circle when Jovan was powerful, Oliver was still the unappreciated child of the Windsor family. He was rumored to be extremely ugly, and few knew his true appearance.
"Mr. Watkins." Oliver's gaze passed over Jovan, and Ainslee was sitting on the sofa, not far away. "Ainslee is here too."
Ainslee looked up and greeted Oliver.
"Mr. Watkins, I'm here to pick up my wife." Oliver had no intention of entering.
Jovan laughed in anger. "Mr. Windsor, Natalie didn't say she was going home now."
During lunch, Natalie had said she would stay with Jane until the evening and then rush back to have dinner with Nathan.
Oliver was at a loss for words. He had assumed Natalie would go back with him, forgetting that Jane and Jovan were also there.
"Mr. Windsor, why don't you come in and sit?" Jovan stepped aside, gesturing for Oliver to enter. "I don't mind that you didn't bring a gift."
Oliver, showing little emotion, glanced at Jovan. "I heard you consider Natalie like a sister, but I haven't seen you make up for her wedding and baby gifts."
Jovan clicked his tongue. "With your temper, how did Natalie fall for you?"
"You're not her real brother, so why do you care how she fell for me?" Oliver shot back.
The tension between them was palpable.
Jovan treated Natalie like a sister, naturally being picky about Oliver.
Oliver resented Jane for taking up Natalie's time and energy, and thus disliked Jovan as well.
The atmosphere in the living room was thick with tension.
Ainslee rolled her eyes, looking between Jovan and Oliver, and said, "Oliver, I heard your wife is good at cooking."
Oliver had heard similar hints over the past two years, clearly wanting to taste Natalie's cooking.
Knowing Ainslee's nature and her relationship with Jovan, Oliver bluntly said, "What does my wife's cooking have to do with you?"
Oliver's tone and expression screamed, "It's none of your business."
Meanwhile, in South City, Clint reported to Anthony, "Mr. Clark, those rumors have been cleared, and the news proving Ms. Watkins' reputation has been spread." He paused and added, "Mrs. Clark also contributed a lot, specifically speaking well of Ms. Watkins within the circle."
Anthony listened with a cold expression.
Clint sighed inwardly.
Indeed, what good were kind words when the damage was already done?
"As for Aurora, Hubert has filed for divorce, but the Dewar family disagrees. Hubert suggested having Aurora confess and go to prison, but the Dewar family is not easy to deal with. The current solution is to send her to a sanatorium."
Aurora had targeted Jane multiple times. In the past, Anthony had been lenient for Ann's sake, but now all tolerance was exhausted.
Anthony demanded an explanation from Hubert and the Dewar family. Their solution was to send Aurora to a mental health facility. Such places could turn a normal person abnormal. But it was also the kind of place that showed Hubert and the Dewar family's sincerity in their apology.
Anthony nodded, indicating he was reluctantly satisfied. "Keep an eye on her."
It was to prevent Aurora from finding a way to escape.
"Yes." Clint continued, "Mr. Clark, also, Mr. Green, whom you met at a conference in Paykston, is sending you a wedding invitation in a few days."
"Doesn't he have a wife?" Anthony asked.
"This is his second marriage," Clint replied.
"No..." Anthony was about to say "not going" but changed his mind. "Alright."
Clint was full of surprise and confusion.
Anthony actually agreed to attend someone's second wedding?
Wait, if he remembered correctly, Mr. Green used to have a good relationship with the Watkins family. He would probably invite Jane and Jovan.
Clint suddenly understood.
Anthony might appear indifferent to Jane, but deep down, he was very concerned.
