Chapter 1014 Anthony Clark, So Ruthless

The doctor originally wanted to say a few more words, but he didn't dare to say more after realizing that the situation in the ward was not quite right.

He  had said everything a doctor should say. if the family and the patient didn't listen, there was nothing he could do.

Anthony watched with indifference the whole time.

"Since you had Hubert's child, our engagement is automatically canceled," Anthony said, straightening his clothes and preparing to leave.

He told Ann, "Mother, I'm leaving now. Do as you please."

"Anthony Clark! You bastard!" Aurora grabbed the pillow from the bed and threw it at him in a frenzy.

But Aurora hadn't recovered physically. She could only manage to throw the pillow to the bedside, not even touching the hem of Anthony's clothes.

"This was your plan all along. You wanted me to have someone else's child so that there would be no possibility between us. How could you be so heartless? I've loved you for so many years!"

Anthony turned his head and said cruelly, "Yes, I wanted to make sure you could never become my wife."

As for Aurora's love, it wasn't something Anthony wanted. It had nothing to do with him.

"Say something! Are you mute?" Linda didn't know what to do, but she didn't want to let Anthony leave just like that.

'He is my ideal son-in-law!' Linda thought.

Otis irritably shook off Linda's hand and said, "If Aurora hadn't insisted on marrying Anthony from the beginning, would Anthony have done this?"

Given Otis's knowledge of Aurora, she would never have given up on Anthony, if the child, who was not Anthony's, had been still born.

Even if Anthony got married, Otis wasn't sure if Aurora would shamelessly try to ruin his family.

Aurora could set Jane as her goal from a young age and strictly demanded herself to achieve it. She could also use any means necessary to get a man.

In Otis's view, Aurora' current suffering now was inevitable and perhaps fortuante.

But Linda didn't think so. She cursed at Otis.

Anthony wasn't interested in the subsequent events and left without looking back.

After leaving this ward, Anthony and Aurora were no longer engaged.

Anthony finally got rid of Aurora completely. Even Ann couldn't pressure his marriage as a mother, but he felt no relief or joy.

Clint sighed when he saw this.

If it weren't for Aurora's antics, Anthony and Jane might have already reconciliated.

"Car keys." When he got to the garage, Anthony changed his mind and decided to drive himself.

Clint, worried about Anthony's state, tried to persuade him but still handed over the car keys.

"You stay here and keep an eye on them." Anthony told Clint to stay. Firstly Ann was still agitated. Secondly, he needed to prevent Aurora from causing more trouble. Thirdly, Anthony had some respect for Otis, and if needed, he could lend a hand.

Of course, between Anthony and Aurora, there were no feelings left. Aurora's scheming had already worn out any affection Ann had for her.

Ann knew the grandson wasn't hers but from the despised Hubert. These past few months had been a waste. The prospective daughter-in-law had spoken rudely and almost crazily.

She couldn't stay in the ward any longer. Ann said a few words to the Dewar family and left.

Linda saw that Aurora couldn't hold onto Anthony, but the child had already been born, so she had to pull someone down. She dragged Otis out of the hospital to find Hubert.

Although Linda didn't think much of Hubert, Aurora couldn't have a child without a proper status.

Everyone was gone.

Aurora looked at the empty ward and gave a bleak smile.

'It was the same the last time I was hospitalized, but it is the same this time,' Aurora thought.

There were two knocks on the ward door.

Aurora looked up expectantly, only to see a cold-faced Clint. She gave a self-deprecating laugh.

"Is there something else?"

Clint hadn't expected that not only Ann had left, but even Aurora's parents had left.

But Aurora's misery was self-inflicted.

"Mr. Clark said, considering you once took care of Mrs. Clark, even if your motives were impure, he wanted to let you know," Clint said, "from tonight on, everyone in the circle will know that you are no longer his fiancée."

Aurora had anticipated this outcome and wasn't surprised.

"He just wants me to make room for Jane." Aurora couldn't understand. "What's so good about Jane? Back then, they were together because Jane forced him. Jane was actually the one who insisted! If Jane could do it, why can't I?"

Clint laughed and said, "Do you think Ms. Watkins could have forced Mr. Clark if he wasn't willing?"

Aurora was stunned.

Clint said, "Everyone thinks that back then, Mr. Clark appeared at Ms. Watkins' side because she was attracted to his looks and forced him to be her bodyguard, gaining the opportunity by being close to him. But how many people know that Mr. Clark himself went to great lengths to become a candidate for Ms. Watkins' bodyguard?"

With Anthony's looks, Jovan, who was very protective of Jane, would never have easily let Anthony appear in front of Jane, in case he seduced her.

But in the end, he did seduce her.

Later, Clint often thought that the Anthony was completely wrong in the whole affairs.

People said Jane was attracted to Anthony's looks, but Anthony actively approaching Jane was also because of her appearence.

Even if Anthony wanted revenge, he wouldn't have targeted Jane.

Aurora was so shocked that she couldn't speak, shaking her head repeatedly. She didn't want to believe it.

Aurora had always thought that Jane's dominance made Anthony bow his head.

Even if Anthony later truly liked Jane and fell in love with her, wasn't the beginning still against Anthony's will?'

It turned out that it was just Aurora's wishful thinking all along. She had always been a joke.

"By the way, Ms. Dewar," Clint got back to the point. "Regardless of whether the child is what you expected, he is innocent. I hope you treat him well. If anything happens to the child, Mr. Clark will investigate thoroughly."

Aurora gritted her teeth, knowing he was reminding her not to try to  to kill the child by some means.

As long as that child existed, Aurora would never have a chance to marry Anthony.

'Anthony, how ruthless you are!' Aurora thought.

Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
