Chapter 988 I Feel Disgusted!

Jane was lost in thought when her hand was suddenly taken by Anthony and placed it in the crook of his arm.

Jane instinctively cast a puzzled glance at him.

"You should have the awareness of being a companion." Anthony reminded her.

Jane resignedly nodded, "Alright, I'll link your arms."

Anthony was not considered a hotshot in this circle. He didn't like to socialize. In the past, for such international events, Anthony would either send someone to represent him or attend in person but remain reticent.

However, Anthony's demeanor did not provoke dissatisfaction among others. Instead, it piqued their interest even more. He was a rising star, who was powerful and had a story about how he had brought down the Watkins family.

"Mr. Clark, you actually brought a companion this time!" A blonde, blue-eyed Western European man said to Anthony in shock, "Wow, your companion is really beautiful. Is she your fiancée?"

Anthony gave his companion a meaningful look and said, "Isn't your companion also not your wife?"

The man's companion was a red-haired, tan-skinned Western woman, dressed in an exceptionally sexy off-shoulder evening gown. Upon hearing Anthony's words, she gave him a charming smile.

The blonde, blue-eyed Western European man smiled knowingly, understanding that the woman Anthony brought was not his fiancée.

In this circle, such situations were all too common, and everyone was used to them.

"Beautiful lady, would you mind exchanging contact information?" The Western European man's gaze lingered on Jane. It was obvious that he had developed a strong interest in her.

A cold light flashed in Anthony's eyes, but before he could speak, Jane replied, "Sir, you don't even know who I am. How do you deserve to have my contact information?"

That tone, those words, that attitude was arrogant as always.

The Western European man's face instantly darkened. "How dare you speak like that!" Before he could ask Anthony to teach Jane a lesson on how to respect people, Anthony pulled Jane into his arms, smiled indulgently. "See you later." Then he left with Jane.

He walked away with his arm around Jane's waist in a possessive and assertive manner.

Jane heard a curse from the Western European man behind her.

"Aren't you afraid of offending people by speaking like that?" Jane looked up and asked Anthony.

"You're afraid that I offended people but still talked to him in an arrogant manner?" Anthony said that, but his demeanor clearly indicated that he didn't care about this crap at all.

Jane chuckled. She had said that on purpose, hoping to make things difficult for Anthony. Because Anthony had coerced her into attending this wretched event by using information about Jovan.

Unexpectedly, Anthony was so assertive.

Meanwhile, on the other side, the Western European man had just cursed when a few of his friends walked over.

One of them laughed and said, "Got scolded?"

The Western European man was surprised. "How did you know?"

"That's Jane Watkins, famous for her arrogance. Your brother pursued her for a whole year, and she never even glanced at him."

The Western European man was an illegitimate child of a certain family. He held the status of a young master in the family, but the one in power was the eldest son of the main branch.

"She's Jane Watkins! No wonder she was so sought after back then. She is indeed beautiful!"

"Jane Watkins and the Clark family member had a falling out, didn't they? And doesn't Mr. Clark already have a fiancée? How come..."

"Who said Mr. Clark is a heartless man who keeps away from women? He seems to treasure Jane Watkins quite a bit!"

Someone laughed maliciously. "Is this Anthony's Achilles' heel?"

Jane had never been on this cruise ship before, but she had heard of its name. It was one of the world's most luxurious cruise ships, with a rental fee reaching nine figures.

The overall style of the ship was reminiscent of Central Europe in the 13th century, with a focus on the Renaissance period. Even the waitstaff were dressed in period costumes, creating a highly immersive experience.

The ship's layout was like a miniature social circle, complete with entertainment facilities such as ballrooms, shooting ranges, casinos, and theaters, as well as essential amenities like restaurants, gyms, supermarkets, and bars.

There were even specialized "escort" services, with both male and female options.

Jane didn't know what kind of games were available on this ship. She had once been on a cruise that featured "live passion performances". She was underage at the time, and the host had been harshly mocked by Jovan for sullying Jane's eyes .

"Where can I find information about my brother?" Jane asked Anthony.

Jane had been quietly observing the surroundings but had found no trace of Jovan.

Initially, Jane considered the hospital where Jovan was admitted and its shareholders, but she discovered that none of the hospital's shareholders had the qualifications to board this ship, let alone the doctors.

"No rush, I'll take you there tomorrow," Anthony teased.

"Mr. Clark, your room is ready," the leading attendant stopped at the door of a suite, opened it for Anthony and Jane, and handed the key card to Anthony.

The attendant, a Western man, was particularly open and savvy, giving Anthony and Jane a knowing smile. "Enjoy your trip!"

Jane found the attendant's smile odd at first, but as soon as she entered, she saw a candlelit dinner in the dining room, accompanied by an expensive bottle of Lafite and exquisite roses everywhere.

Out of the corner of her eye, Jane noticed something. Looking closer, she saw a whole row of condoms on the left side of the entrance: various brands, functions, and flavors were all available.

Jane thought to herself, 'Am I on another inappropriate cruise?'

As she cursed inwardly, she heard Anthony's low chuckle beside her.

"What are you laughing at?"

Anthony placed the luggage inside, closed the door with one hand, and casually picked up a box of condoms, glancing at the description.

"We've used this one," Anthony commented seriously, "and you didn't like it."

Jane was stunned for several seconds, her mind flooded with countless fragments.

She remembered that she had told Aurora, "I'm not interested in your fiancé."

Aurora who was pregnant said, "He's my fiancé, the father of my child."

Anthony had told her, "I won't marry Aurora."

Anthony had rushed to the hospital as soon as he heard Aurora wanted an abortion.

'Which of Anthony's words could be trusted? It doesn't matter, right?

'Anthony treats me well. But that doesn't matter either, right?' Jane thought.

Jane finally couldn't hold back and shouted, "Anthony Clark!"

"I'm not deaf. Keep your voice down," Anthony rubbed his ears, showing disdain for Jane's sudden raised volume, as if completely oblivious to the warning and anger in her words.

Jane's face turned cold. She warned,"Anthony Clark, don't play games with me. I won't accept it! I feel disgusted!"

Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
