Chapter 1059 In My Eyes, You Always Look Good

The servant thought, 'Alright, it's none of my business anymore. I shouldn't meddle in Mr. Clark's affairs.'

Jane saw that the album contained a dozen photos of her, all of her sleeping in bed.

The photos were taken in night mode, and in the dim light, only Jane's face and hair emerging from the covers were visible. Half of her face was buried in the pillow, slightly deformed from the pressure.

Jane probably wasn't sleeping well at the time. With her brows furrowed, she looked nothing like the standard sleeping beauty described in fairy tales. It looked like the cover of a horror movie.

In that villa, besides Anthony, there was no one else who could have taken such ugly photos. So ugly that they almost scared her!

Jane was very angry and lost interest in taking more photos. She just wanted to go back and confront Anthony.

Unexpectedly, she turned around and met Ava's gaze.

Ava was wearing the latest Chanel ready-to-wear, a string of round pearls around her neck, a large diamond ring on her ring finger, and carrying a Himalayan Hermès bag.

Ava stared at Jane, clearly having been observing her for a while.

Caught off guard by Jane's sudden turn, Ava could only force a smile. "Hello, are you the new resident? I haven't seen you before."

Jane had seen this kind of trick many times in high school. When caught peeping, they would pretend it was a coincidence or that they needed something.

Jane glanced at Ava indifferently, not recognizing her, and replied, "I have something to do, I need to go."

Maintaining the most basic courtesy, nothing more.

Jane had no intention of talking to anyone here. She walked out of the lakeside path with her camera, where a golf cart was parked on the asphalt road outside, prepared by Anthony's bodyguard for her to use.

Emerald Gardens was too large for Jane, who was pregnant and naturally lazy, to walk around.

Ava could only watch as Jane left in the cart, completely out of her sight.

Ava, not being from a top-tier family, had only heard of Jane's name but had never seen her in person. There were quite a few photos of Jane circulating, but that was many years ago. Seeing her now, in the flesh, a wave of uncertainty washed over her.

Ava immediately went online to check and was shocked when she saw the photos.

The person living in the best villa was actually Jane!

Since Jane was home, Anthony would return to Emerald Gardens on time in the afternoon, even if he wasn't working there.

Jane usually treated Anthony like he was invisible, doing whatever she wanted and never waiting for him to come back.

So, when Anthony came home today and saw Jane sitting obediently on the sofa, he was surprised.

Jane turned her head to look at Anthony, her face expressionless, as if he had offended her.

"What's wrong?" Anthony took off his coat and sat down in just a shirt.

Jane opened the camera, pulled up the horror-movie-like photos, and tapped the table with her finger. "Care to explain?"

Anthony picked up the camera and looked at the photos again, unconsciously curling his lips a bit. "I think they look pretty good."

Jane, when asleep, put away her sharp tongue and claws, making her look especially endearing.

Jane thought her ears were playing tricks on her and sincerely asked, "Anthony, shouldn't you reassess your sense of aesthetics? You call this good-looking?"

"In my eyes, you're always good-looking," Anthony said.

Jane thought, 'I'm just discussing aesthetics; why are you complimenting me?"

It made Jane feel awkward about confronting Anthony.

Jane picked up the camera and decisively decided to delete these ugly photos first, so they wouldn't scare her and the baby in her belly. The baby's eyes were delicate and shouldn't be tainted.

Anthony seemed to know what Jane was thinking, a mischievous smile quickly flashed in his eyes, and he casually said, "By the way, I have backups of these photos."

Jane said angrily, "Say that again, what do you have?"

"Jane, if you take a set of photos for me, I'll delete them all," Anthony said, looking like he was negotiating with Jane.

Jane closed her eyes tightly. "So you took my ugly photos just to make me take photos for you?"

Anthony didn't deny it.

"Aren't you afraid I'll make you look super ugly?" Jane threatened Anthony.

"It's said that one of Ms. Watkins' specialties is taking photos of people."

Jane felt that Anthony left out the other half of his sentence, which was: "If you deliberately make me look ugly, don't you want your ugly photos gone?"

Jane didn't understand, "Wait, don't you hate taking photos? I used to want to take photos of you, and you refused no matter what. Now you've changed?"

Anthony didn't say anything.

Anthony couldn't possibly tell Jane the truth, that he felt unbalanced because she took photos of Billy but not him.

Before this, Anthony hadn't realized he was so petty, to the point of being jealous of Billy.

"If I'm satisfied, I'll give you a set of night lenses." Anthony raised the stakes. "Jane, this is a deal with no loss."

Anthony was like a hunter who had set a trap, with Jane, the little rabbit, eyeing her favorite carrot inside.

Anthony just sat there, watching to see if Jane would take the bait.

After five minutes, Jane, with a blank face, changed the lens on the camera to a portrait lens.

"Where do you want your photo taken?" Jane asked reluctantly.

"Just here." Anthony sat on the sofa, not really having a strong desire to have his photo taken, it was just jealousy.

Jane rolled her eyes. "Only those pretentious fifty or sixty-year-olds like to sit on the sofa, looking at documents while taking photos, pretending to be serious!"

Yes, she was mocking Anthony for being pretentious.

He asked good-naturedly, "Then what do you think would be less pretentious?"

Jane immediately changed her tune. "Nah, forget it. Sitting on the sofa suits you perfectly."

Anthony had that pretentious aura!

Anthony could hear the mockery in Jane's words.

But Anthony didn't care, letting Jane stand in front of him and start adjusting the lens.

"Be careful!" Anthony hurriedly called out.

Jane was focused on the camera, her heel bumped into the sofa behind her, causing her to lose balance and sway.

Before Jane could react, Anthony, who had been sitting opposite her, was in front of her in a flash, his strong arm catching her waist securely.
