Chapter 1160 Somewhat Reluctant to Let You Go

An hour later, everyone was blown away by the footage.

Jane expertly piloted the drone, capturing smooth, dynamic shots. The pacing was spot-on, with perfect close-ups.

From above, you could see Anthony in the driver's seat, looking every bit the desert hero, cool and confident, like he owned the place.

Other footage varied, but Jane's aerial shots were unbeatable.

Flying a drone is way harder than using a regular camera. It takes real teamwork between the pilot and the subject, and Jane and Anthony nailed it today.

What was supposed to take two or three days got wrapped up quickly thanks to Anthony's presence and Jane's drone skills.

The crew helped Anthony out of his gear, thanking him, "Thanks, Mr. Clark! We couldn't have done it without you! And Jane too, right?"

Anthony just smiled a bit.

Out here filming a documentary, there's not much to do besides work, so everyone was curious about Jane and Anthony. But no one dared to ask.

It was clear Anthony still had feelings for Jane, but she didn't seem too interested. Everyone noticed but kept quiet to avoid any drama.

The next two days, it poured rain.

Most filming stopped, except for the natural scenery team, who braved the rain in their gear.

"Why is it so dry here when it rains so much?" a young girl wondered, staring out the window.

A guy replied, "It's the sandy soil, which doesn't hold water. Didn't you learn that?"

"Yeah, but it's so unfair. Why can't the rain stick around? Why can't plants grow here? Why do people have to deal with drought?" she said.

The other person gave a thumbs up, saying, "No wonder you're the scriptwriter, always talking nonsense!"

"That's called philosophy! You konw nothing!" the girl shot back.

Everyone, including Jane, was used to this banter. The studio was full of young people, and their bickering just brought them closer.

Jane's phone buzzed with a text.

Anthony: [Come out for a bit]

Jane grabbed her phone, said a quick goodbye to her colleagues, and left the café.

Anthony was waiting under the hotel porch, raindrops falling like beads from the eaves.

"I have some business to attend to, need to head back," Anthony said.

Jane's brow furrowed slightly.

It was clear he came here for her, and the "business" was just an excuse. Staying this long was definitely for her.

"Okay." Jane nodded.

Anthony held an unlit cigarette, his dark eyes fixed on her.

"Jane, don't you have anything else to say to me?" he asked, sounding a bit helpless.

Jane hesitated, thinking about their awkward relationship. Saying nothing felt wrong.

"Have a safe trip," she added, "and good luck with your work."

Anthony was both amused and frustrated.

That wasn't what he wanted to hear, but he couldn't push her.

Finally, he placed his large hand on her head, ruffling her hair in frustration.

"Stay safe, Jane," he said formally, holding back the "I'll miss you" to avoid scaring her off.

Jane seemed calm, but Anthony knew she was a strong yet sensitive soul.

An off-road vehicle waited by the roadside. Clint got out with an umbrella, opened the door for Anthony, and waved to Jane from a distance. "Goodbye, Ms. Watkins!"

"Goodbye," Jane replied.

Soon, Anthony and the car disappeared into the misty rain.

On her way back, Jane got another text from Anthony with Nolan's contact info, saying she could reach out to him if needed.

Jane didn't reply.

The next half month was spent in the desert, the unpredictable weather of which slowed filming, but everyone was prepared for it.

Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
