Chapter 407 He’s Spoiled by His Wife
"Do they need models?" Natalie asked.
"No, the organizers have already found models for the first round of the finals,” Emily replied. She had already gathered information about it in advance. Then, shifting the topic, she said, "However, if you want, I can get you tickets for the finals."
Natalie sighed, disappointed. However, upon hearing the offer, her mood quickly lifted, and she thanked Emily.
"By the way, Susan is also competing in this event."
Natalie remembered that Susan had risen to fame a year earlier than Wine. Some had even suggested that Wine's style bore a resemblance to Susan's.
In Natalie's view, Wine was much more talented and had a more solid foundation compared to Susan. However, Susan had the home advantage, which might give her more confidence.
…
Today, Natalie had an interview with a magazine. The magazine’s headquarters was based in another city, and they had sent a team to Paykston to conduct the interview in a luxurious venue owned by the Windsor Group.
Upon their arrival, a vibrant young woman greeted everyone before she discreetly told Natalie, "Natalie, we deliberately chose this studio owned by the Windsor Group so that you can have lunch with your husband after the interview!”
‘Seems like they are unaware that Arthur has taken over the responsibilities of the Windsor Group…’
The young woman confided in a low voice, "I must admit that I’m a fan of both you and Oliver!”
Natalie was confused. ‘A fan of us? Because of our appearances?
There were many people who admired Oliver, but he was not a celebrity after all. It was strange for the young girl to call herself a fan of Oliver.
“No, I’m a fan of both of you as a couple!” the young girl replied with a laugh.
…
Arthur did not have plans to see Natalie or have lunch with her. However, he had a plan in mind.
He called Oliver, asking, “Would you like to make a deal with me?”
Oliver skimmed the documents in his hands, his response lukewarm. "Not interested."
“It’s about Natalie.”
Oliver paused before he said, “Speak properly.”
This meant he was willing to make a deal.
Arthur disclosed his intention, saying, “I need your help. To be precise, I need to borrow your people…”
"For what?"
“I want to investigate something,” Arthur replied.
‘I need to investigate what happened to Flora…’
"Jamie will forward you the list and details," Oliver said before he asked, "And what do you offer in return?"
"Natalie’s in my company. I’ll plan a date for you and her.”
…
Arthur had originally thought about planning a romantic French restaurant for the two of them. However, taking into account Oliver's pickiness, he could only choose the company’s cafeteria.
The cafeteria was equipped with a kitchen and chefs, which meant that there was a bigger selection of food for the picky Oliver.
Famed within the Windsor Group, the cafeteria was likened to a four-star buffet. It boasted an array of delectable dishes. It had quickly become the envy of many employees of other companies.
At this moment, Natalie and Oliver were seated opposite each other, surrounded by various plates of food that Natalie had selected.
"This one is really tasty. Try it,” Natalie said after taking a bite of the seafood paella.
Oliver, with a look of contempt, barely concealed his disdain for the meal and the cafeteria setting. He thought that Natalie would at least make him something simple since they were here.
Oliver felt that he had been tricked by his brother and that Natalie had unwittingly become his brother’s accomplice.
“Seriously, try it. It’s delicious.”
Natalie persisted in her attempts to persuade Oliver, even going so far as to feed him herself. He was no longer as picky as before, but he remained fixated on only eating food she cooked. She knew she had to break this habit of his. Otherwise, what would become of him when she was away for work?
Natalie had specifically chosen a secluded corner by the window, but their presence did not go unnoticed.
A hush fell over the area.
The Windsor Group’s employees dared not openly stare at the couple and could only look at the couple covertly. They were in awe when they saw their domineering former boss looking so obedient in front of Natalie.
They saw Natalie feed Oliver a spoonful of the seafood paella. Despite the reluctance on his face, he still ate it. Then, they heard him say, “Are you taking advantage of my love for you to bully me?”
The employees were puzzled.
‘Bully him?’
Natalie's smile broadened slightly as she teased, “So what? What can you do about it?”
Oliver rose to his feet, resting one hand on the table. Then, he leaned close to Natalie and whispered something into her ear. His usual coldness was replaced by a hint of warmth and mischief.
Natalie, seemingly shocked by whatever he said, playfully punched his shoulder and said, “Shut up!”
Meanwhile, the interview team exchanged a look after witnessing the public display of affection.
“They’re really lovey-dovey! I didn’t expect them to be so close!”
"Don’t get too excited. It’s embarrassing. Look at how nonchalant the Windsor Group’s employees are!”
Meanwhile, the ‘nonchalant’ employees of the Windsor Group were chatting excitedly on their phones.
[I suspect Oliver has just made a naughty comment!]
[Oliver making a naughty comment? I’d believe it more if it were Arthur.]
[I’m good at reading lips! I believe he said, ‘You’ll find out tonight’. How naughty!]
[Natalie is blushing! She’s so beautiful!]
[Oliver looks reluctant, but he still does whatever she tells him to. How cute! Haha!]
[Oliver is like a different person in front of Natalie…]
Meanwhile, Oliver casually returned to his seat. As he looked at the flustered Natalie, he picked up a piece of carrot and nibbled on it. He reluctantly swallowed it with a grimace before he complained, “It tastes terrible. It's nowhere near as good as your cooking."
One of Arthur’s assistants, who was seated nearby, quickly sent a message.
[Mr. Oliver said the food in the cafeteria tasted terrible.]
Arthur: [He’s been spoiled by his wife’s cooking. Ignore him.]
At the same time, Natalie said to Oliver, “Eat up.”
Oliver grimaced, reluctantly taking a bite of a spare rib. He muttered, “It’s awful.”
Suddenly, the cafeteria was abuzz with whispers. Everyone’s attention shifted toward the entrance, where a commotion had begun.
Natalie noticed several heads turning in unison, but she did not pay attention until she heard a voice pierce the air.
“Daddy!”
Following that, a chubby little girl, with plump cheeks, rushed toward Oliver and wrapped her arms around his leg.
The atmosphere changed immediately, and everyone cast sympathetic glances at Natalie.
‘Is this like the drama on TV where the ex-lover returned with a child in tow?’
‘This is too pitiful! Ever since she married Oliver, there hasn’t been a moment of peace in their relationship!’
