Chapter 1133 Anthony, Let Go

Calvin's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly denied it. "No way! Jane and I have been friends forever. She couldn't possibly like me. Besides, Jovan wouldn't be into someone like me."

Anthony seemed to get it.

It wasn't that Calvin had no feelings for Jane; he was just more self-aware.

But Calvin's attitude made it clear that Jane had no romantic feelings for him. She hadn't even noticed Calvin's feelings.

Anthony's presence was overwhelming, and his intense gaze made Calvin feel insecure. He nervously touched his nose.

"Mr. Clark, I just wanted to know. I know I'm not good enough for Jane. I want to know what's going on between you and Jane. I don't want her to get hurt," Calvin added, sounding a bit incoherent and even pulling at his hair in frustration.

Anthony nodded, understanding. "You like Jane."

"I don't want to like her, but I can't help it! Maybe there's something wrong with me," Calvin said, feeling like punching himself.

"Anthony, don't tell her." Calvin regretted agreeing to help Jane with her bag today. "I think our current friendship is good for both of us."

If Jane knew about Calvin's feelings, they probably couldn't even be friends.

After a long pause, Anthony nodded. "As long as you don't let Jane find out, I won't tell her."

Calvin breathed a sigh of relief. "I won't let her find out. She wouldn't believe I like her anyway. So, what's going on between you and Jane? Do you still like her? Do you want to win her back?"

"Yes," Anthony nodded without hesitation.

"If you liked her, why didn't you cherish her before? You even let her have a miscarriage," Calvin glared at Anthony indignantly.

"I didn't protect her well," Anthony admitted.

"Exactly, you didn't protect her!" Calvin was filled with righteous indignation. He wanted to punch Anthony, but knowing he couldn't win, he let it go.

"So what do you want now? Do you want to win her back?" Calvin asked.

"Mr. Green, that's between her and me. It's not something you should be concerned about," Anthony said.

Soon, Jane arrived at the place Anthony mentioned, full of anger.

There was only Anthony in the empty lot next to the parking lot. Several cigarette butts were piled at his feet, and he still had a cigarette between his fingers. Hearing the sound of high heels on the ground, he turned to see the furious Jane and extinguished the cigarette.

Jane looked around but didn't see Lester or Calvin.

"Where are they?" Jane asked.

"Jane, let's talk." Anthony's gaze was fixed on Jane's face.

"I asked you where they are. And my bag, give it back to me." Jane's face was cold, clearly not wanting to talk.

Anthony said unhurriedly, "After we talk, I'll give you both the people and the bag."

This meant Jane had no choice but to cooperate.

Anthony was always like this, wanting to take the lead in everything! Even years ago, when he seemed to be very accommodating to Jane, he was actually in control of many things from start to finish. If she didn't comply, he would force her to.

Jane took a couple of deep breaths to control her emotions. "Alright, Mr. Clark, what do you want to talk about?"

"There's a dessert shop over there. Let's go sit and talk," Anthony suggested, gesturing with his chin.

Jane didn't think her current emotions and her relationship with Anthony were good enough to let her sit down with him in a dessert shop.

Anthony silently looked at Jane, his gaze focused and deep, his dark eyes like a bottomless pool, making those who looked for more than a second feel like their soul would be sucked in.

This intense gaze scorched Jane. "Anthony, just say what you have to say. There's no need to waste each other's time."

Jane licked her lips and added, "It was wrong of me to leave without saying goodbye before. I do owe you a proper farewell."

"What if I don't accept it?" Anthony said.

"What?" Jane looked puzzled.

Anthony took long strides, approaching Jane step by step. "I said, I don't accept your farewell. Jane, you left without saying goodbye that time, and you've been deliberately avoiding me ever since."

Jane wanted to retort, but the words got stuck in her throat.

Jane lowered her eyes, her long lashes covering her eyelids. From this angle, her features were very delicate.

"Anthony, since you know I've been avoiding you, you should also know what I mean." Jane raised her eyes. "We should have separated long ago. The child is gone, and we have no ties left. Anthony, let's end this mistake."

Mistake? Anthony never thought that his relationship with Jane was a mistake from the beginning.

But at this point, there was no need to dwell on this issue.

"Jane, I love you," Anthony said.

Jane looked at Anthony in shock, blinking, doubting her ears, thinking she was hearing things.

Anthony stood in front of Jane, bent down to look her in the eye, and repeated, "Jane, I love you."

At that moment, Jane saw a hint of hope in Anthony's dark eyes.

Anthony looked like an anxious big dog, pleading with Jane, afraid of being abandoned, and hoping she would agree to keep him.

Jane's nose tingled, and she tried to hold back, but couldn't. Her eyes immediately filled with tears.

Jane looked at Anthony with tear-filled eyes, full of sadness. "Anthony, if you had said this to me a few years ago, I would have been very happy, eager to marry you immediately. But I don't love you anymore, Anthony. I'm tired."

"Jane, I don't need you to love me. You need to enjoy my love for you," Anthony stubbornly pulled Jane into his arms.

"But I need to love," Jane said.

Anthony's hand stiffened slightly, and he held Jane even tighter, as if to prevent her from leaving him.

Jane's hands hung at her sides. She had been anxious on her way here, but now she felt unusually calm.

Reality always had to be faced.

Whether good or bad, it was waiting for her.

"Anthony, let go." Jane was tired of saying, "Let go."

"If I had been more determined back then, maybe there wouldn't have been that child, and he wouldn't have suffered. Every life is a gift from heaven. I respect every life, but I ended his in my arms."

Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
