Chapter 347 Your Wife Is Going To Be Famous!
During the journey back, it did not take long for Jane to call Natalie. She asked curiously, “So you’re together now?”
Jane responded, "No, I don’t dare to do that. It’s just a temporary… truce. In any case, I can’t get rid of him now.”
Jane was acutely aware that the issues between her and Anthony still existed. She knew that their current peace was only superficial. Perhaps in the future, with the arrival of new people and events, this illusory peace would be shattered.
Jane had wondered countless times why she had agreed with Anthony. Perhaps, it was driven by a sense of loneliness.
Natalie said, “Well, no matter your decision, just know that I’ll support you.”
“Thanks, babe!” Jane said.
After ending the call, Natalie glanced to the side and noticed something was wrong with Oliver.
He leaned back on the seat with his eyes closed, maintaining his usual casual posture. However, upon closer inspection, one could see he was tense. There was also an imperceptible frown on his face, which seemed to indicate his discomfort.
Natalie's attention was drawn to his hand resting lightly on his stomach. "Oliver, are you alright?"
Oliver remained still. After a moment, he answered, "I’m fine."
‘How can he be fine? Something’s wrong with his voice…’
"Does your stomach hurt?" Natalie leaned closer, asking worriedly.
The mere thought of the ‘junk’ he had eaten earlier filled Oliver with discomfort. He wondered about the cleanliness of the food and whether it had been properly cooked. Thinking about these things made him feel uneasy.
Oliver adjusted his position, turning his broad back to Natalie.
Natalie, seeing his discomfort, set aside her irritation. She leaned forward, her hand on a leather seat, and asked, "Should we go to the hospital? Is it serious? I think we have some stomach medicine at home… Hey, say something."
If the discomfort was minor, a hospital visit might be unnecessary.
As she leaned closer, her delicate and sweet scent filled Oliver's senses. After a pause, he replied, “I skipped dinner earlier.”
Natalie rolled her eyes and said, “Didn’t I prepare dinner for you? It’s in the refrigerator. Moreover, don’t think I don’t know you can eat the food prepared by the chef at home now…”
Her voice dropped to a whisper nearing the end of her words.
The chefs at Rosewood Estate were exceptional, and now they prepared meals for Oliver following Natalie's usual methods and recipes, ensuring Oliver could enjoy good meals. However, his stomach still rejected food from outside.
Oliver frowned. “Do you treat me as your husband?”
Charles, who had remained quiet, decided to intervene. "Oliver’s condition has improved quite a bit. You didn’t cook for him in vain over the past six months. How could he fall sick after eating a little bit outside…”
Charles paused, thinking about it for a moment before he chose to keep his thoughts to himself. He thought to himself, ‘Natalie is so kind that she’s being fooled by Oliver…’
Natalie rolled up her sleeves and gently placed her hand on Oliver's stomach.
Oliver was taken aback for a moment. He felt a pair of soft hands rubbing his stomach with patience and gentleness.
"No one forced you to eat earlier," Natalie said while rubbing Oliver's stomach, "I tried to stop you earlier, but you insisted on eating. Considering how pampered you are, I knew your stomach would be delicate."
Oliver, who had started to feel a bit better, was irritated by her comment. "What do you mean by pampered? Aren’t we the same?”
“How are we the same?” Natalie said as she looked at him strangely, “You’re the heir of the Windsor family while I’m not different from a guest in the Watson family…”
Oliver held Natalie’s chin and said, “Well, you’re now Mrs. Windsor. That’s your rightful identity.”
Despite the scenery swiftly passing by outside the window, Natalie felt as though time had frozen in that moment. Her heart skipped a beat because of Oliver’s words. At some point, the words ‘Mrs. Windsor’ became capable of making her heart flutter.
“Just remember you’re now Mrs. Windsor, okay?” Oliver said.
“Hmm.”
Natalie nodded, feeling a touch of sweetness in her heart.
…
Upon returning to Rosewood Estate, Natalie prepared a cup of hot water for Oliver, fetched some stomach medicine for him, and then proceeded to cook.
Oliver stared at the flat, yellow pill silently for a couple of seconds. He had only pretended to be sick earlier, but he had no choice now but to take the medicine. In any case, he did not think it would be detrimental to his health.
Alas, before he could fully reconcile with his wife, she had already left for work.
…
The following day, Natalie packed her bags and headed to the airport for the filming of Fun Island on a small island.
Oliver’s expression was sullen as he drove Natalie to the airport. However, when he met the production team, he returned to his usual expressionless self.
The director approached him with an ingratiating smile.
With an impassive expression, Oliver asked, "I thought filming would only take place at Sense University?"
"The contract specifies that the majority of the filming would occur at Sense University, but this segment will be shot outside. Don’t worry. We’ll take good care of Natalie!” the director replied nervously. He did not understand why Oliver seemed unhappy with the change in the filming location. After all, his wife was going to be famous!
Indeed, the original plan was to film the third episode at Sense University. However, the exceptional success of the first episode and the high expectations for the second prompted the production team to opt for a more scenic outdoor location.
The decision to extend the filming was deliberate.
Natalie and Jane had only agreed to participate in three episodes. With Natalie's burgeoning popularity, a contract renewal for this show was unlikely. Jane's participation was dependent on Natalie's involvement; if Natalie left, Jane would definitely follow suit.
"Alright, you should go now. Bye,” Natalie said. She preferred he did not linger because everyone, whether openly or secretly, was looking at them.
Oliver glanced at the director, and the director tactfully stepped aside.
"What’s the matter?" Natalie presumed Oliver had something to say.
To her surprise, before she could react, he took a step forward, held the back of her head, and kissed her fervently.
