Chapter 906 Almost Losing Control
Natalie had been accompanying Nathan and Oliver on the plane.
The father and son seemed to be at odds again, with one serious and the other persistent in their argument, one speaking coldly while the other kept murmuring.
It wasn't until they got off the plane and into the car heading back to the Rosewood Estate that Natalie had a moment to check her phone.
Upon unlocking the screen, she saw a dozen missed calls!
Natalie was wary of such calls, hesitating whether to call back when the person called again.
"Hello."
"Hello, is this Natalie, the family member of Lucas from Paykston University's Computer Science? I'm Lucas' counselor. Lucas' leukemia has relapsed. Please come to the affiliated hospital of Paykston University immediately! Hurry!"
Natalie's identity was not a secret in the country, and since she was the only relative contact Lucas had listed in the school records, almost everyone at Paykston University, knew her as a supermodel and Oliver's wife.
Being shouted at like this, Natalie felt the person was not a scammer.
"Natalie, what's wrong?" Oliver noticed something was off with Natalie. Her face suddenly turned pale.
Nathan in her arms looked bewildered and uneasy, gazing at his mother.
Natalie held Oliver's hand, "Oliver, you need to find out immediately. What happened to Lucas?"
She was so nervous that she was trembling all over and had trouble speaking clearly.
Oliver immediately contacted Collin to investigate.
"Go to the affiliated hospital of Paykston University! Quickly!" Just as Oliver said this, Natalie couldn't wait for Collin's feedback and instructed the driver.
After a few minutes, Collin provided feedback.
Oliver squinted at Natalie, with grim expression
"Has his leukemia relapsed?" Natalie's voice was strained, her throat dry, and her eyes reddened instantly. She forced herself not to cry.
Oliver stared intently at Natalie, not blinked for a while, then finally uttered, "Yes."
The atmosphere in the carriage became tense.
Natalie's breath stopped for several seconds. After a while, she finally caught her breath.
Suddenly, she thought of something and nervously asked Oliver, "Lilian doesn't know about this yet, right?"
"No, she doesn't." Lilian was not with them in the car, and the driver should have already taken Lilian back to her apartment.
"Then don't tell her for now. Wait a couple of days until Lucas was in a better condition ."
Natalie was afraid Lilian would cry.
She was almost losing control.
Hospital.
Lucas lay in the ICU ward, still in a coma, his face unnaturally pale.
"Acute leukemia patients who has undergone chemotherapy have a significant relapse rate. After a relapse, due to the patient's developed resistance during the previous chemotherapy, the effectiveness of the chemotherapy is definitely not as good as before," the attending doctor sighed.
"Is a bone marrow transplant still an option?" Natalie stared through a glass window at the ICU bed inside.
"Of course, a bone marrow transplant is much more reliable than chemotherapy. However, finding a matching bone marrow is not easy."
Without hesitation, Natalie immediately said, "We have already found a matching bone marrow. Please prepare on your end, and I will bring the person over soon."
"Really? That's truly a stroke of luck in the midst of misfortune!"
