Chapter 289 Natalie, Are You Drinking?

[I really think that Jane could win the D'Agair Award.]

[Clearly, it’s Jacob's excellent makeup skills and Natalie's expressive body language that did the job!]

Despite the numerous arguments that continued online, it was evident that Natalie's group was the winner.

In contrast, the other two groups faced challenges.

Grace's makeup was delicate, and it lacked visual impact.

Zoey's group’s lack of lipstick was a critical flaw.

Moreover, the collaboration between the photographer and the models in these two teams was not very good, leaving the photographers with significantly less time for editing the photos compared to Jane.

The outcome was clear for all to see.

Industry experts evaluated the photos, and ultimately, Natalie's team achieved the highest score. However, the margin between the scores was not substantially higher than the other two teams, primarily because Natalie's makeup application was exceptionally poor.

The Fun Challenge’s team initially intended to create excitement through the live broadcast, focusing mainly on the edited collection to be released later. They did not anticipate the live broadcast to gain such popularity.

That evening, a trending topic concerning Lucas emerged.

[We All Need a Brother Like That.]

Which girl did not want a handsome and protective younger brother?

Upon seeing this news, Lilian was displeased. She messaged Lucas on WhatsApp.

Lilian: [Why didn’t you ask me to play PUBG with you? Why do you never include me when playing with others?]

When Lucas saw Lilian's message, he was reminded of Oliver and nearly lost his temper. However, he managed to restrain himself before he replied.

Lucas: [ Your cousin disrespected my sister. Do you still expect me to play games with you? Do you not know what had happened?]

Lucas sent screenshots of the rumors about Oliver and Susan, which had been removed from the Internet, and sent them to Lilian.

Lilian immediately called Oliver.

"Oliver, have you rekindled your feelings for Susan? Are you cheating on Natalie? Infidelity is not only disrespectful but also immoral. If you can’t move on from Susan, perhaps you should consider divorcing Natalie."

Lilian had not actually contemplated the possibility of Oliver and Natalie divorcing. Despite her initial reluctance to accept Natalie, she had grown to accept Natalie. Naturally, she could not accept Oliver abandoning Natalie for Susan. In her view, Natalie was rather good.

"Do you have a death wish?” Oliver asked frostily. The mere mention of divorcing Natalie caused his temper to flare.

"Oh, how scary!" Lilian retorted, somewhat defiantly, "Never mind, do what you want. If you don’t appreciate Natalie, many others do. You have no idea of her popularity. She’s beautiful, talented, kind, and an excellent cook! Where are you going to find such a good woman?”

Suddenly, Lilian paused, struck by her own words. She hammered her head and muttered to herself, “Wait! How can I be like that? When did I suddenly begin to champion Natalie?”

Needless to say, a cloud of gloom shrouded the RK Group.

Jamie visited Sense University again in the evening after the filming had concluded. However, Natalie was nowhere to be found. He assumed that she had gone to prepare dinner for Oliver but was informed by the crew that Natalie had taken her younger brother out for dinner instead.

‘She didn’t cook for Oliver again? This is unprecedented and alarming!’

When Jamie returned empty-handed, Oliver destroyed a Montblanc pen. His mood was so dark it seemed almost tangible.

Following the events of the afternoon, Charles was somewhat prepared for Oliver's reaction and promptly replaced the broken pen with a new one.

Darkness enveloped the sky, void of any stars.

After dinner, Jane and Lucas took Natalie out, allowing her to vent her frustrations by drinking.

After consuming two glasses of red wine, Natalie was slightly drunk. However, she still did not complain about Oliver, which surprised Lucas and Jane.

They exchanged a look, thinking that perhaps, Natalie truly did not care about this matter. With this, they decided to stop Natalie from continuing to drink.

When they returned, Jane made sure Natalie was comfortably settled in bed before she returned to her own dorm room.

Waiting until she heard the door click shut, once alone, Natalie opened her eyes, gazing at the ceiling above. Although she was not accustomed to drinking, her tolerance to alcohol was decent. The two glasses of red wine had not significantly affected her.

However, as the night grew quieter, and the effects of the alcohol lingered, a mix of sour and bitter feelings began to ferment in Natalie's heart. Her emotions darkened.

Suddenly, her phone vibrated.

Natalie, with her reaction slowed by the wine, took a moment to grab her phone from the bedside table. She answered the call when she saw Oliver’s name.

“Hello…”

"I’m hungry," Oliver said from the other end of the line. His frustration from the day seemingly dissipated at the sound of her voice.

"If you’re hungry, then you should eat," Natalie suggested, her words slurred slightly by the wine.

Oliver, speaking from his office adorned with the neon-lit backdrop of Paykston, said softly, “But you didn’t cook for me.”

The implication was clear: what am I supposed to eat if you didn’t cook for me?

Natalie, feeling the alcohol's effects, said truthfully, “I don’t want to cook for you!”

This blunt admission took Oliver aback.

‘Why is she suddenly so blunt? When doesn’t she want to cook for me?’

After a moment of silence filled with tension, Natalie said, “I’m going to sleep.”

At this time, Oliver finally realized that something was amiss. He asked, his voice carrying a cold edge, “Have you been drinking?”

Natalie, feeling hot, turned off the heater as she asked, "Yes, how did you know? Did you have someone follow me?"

These words angered Oliver. ‘Do I need someone to tell me that you drank when you speak like this?’

"You don’t usually drink when you’re with me. Why did you suddenly drink?” Oliver asked. He usually insisted that she only have soft drinks when they were together.

Natalie, her head spinning, lay back and boasted, “I had two glasses! Two glasses!”

"With whom? A man or a woman?"

"Both! A beautiful woman and a handsome man!" Natalie said with a laugh. After all, Jane was beautiful, and Lucas was handsome.

‘Beautiful woman and handsome man?’

Oliver's frustration mounted. However, the angrier he grew, the more composed he became. Suppressing his anger, he asked with a sneer, “Did you drink with Jacob, huh?”
