Chapter 928 You Won't Forget Me, Right?

Natalie pursed her lips. It was indeed like that. If Oliver had done such a thing, Natalie would have thought it was natural. In fact, she had initially planned to do it herself but was talked out of it. In other words, what Oliver wanted to do was done by Eugene instead.

"Since it was originally something he wanted to do, and we are the beneficiaries, it makes sense for us to bear the consequences, right?" Natalie said.

"No." Eugene seemed to chuckle and said, "Natalie, when did you learn to lie?"

"How did I lie?" Natalie was both confused and instinctively guilty.

What Natalie had just said did indeed have a hint of deception.

"Natalie, what I did is my responsibility. Neither you nor Oliver should interfere. Don't make things more complicated, got it?"

"But..." Natalie hesitated.

Eugene interrupted her, "I'm also your brother's savior, no buts."

Natalie was left speechless by his words.

"Natalie," Eugene suddenly called her name and asked, "If one day I disappear, you'll remember me, right?"

"Why are you saying this all of a sudden?" Natalie felt a strange sensation and realized the implication after asking.

Eugene was Roger's second personality. Although cases of personality splits were rare worldwide, they were not incurable. Some personalities even disappeared automatically after fulfilling their purpose, as if they had never left a trace in this world. Eugene might also face such a day.

"Yes," Natalie said without hesitation.

"Then if Roger disappears, will you remember him forever?" But Eugene didn't dare to ask this question, fearing that it would arouse Natalie's suspicion.

After hanging up the phone, Roger stared at himself in the mirror. Roger didn't know how other patients with dual personalities communicated with their second personality, but he could do it this way. By looking at himself in the mirror, it was as if he saw Eugene and could even communicate with him mentally.

Roger said, "Eugene, from now on, you live for me and become the main personality. You'll be happy, right? Remember our agreement."

The agreement was to carry Roger's love for Natalie and protect her, but stay away from her.

Roger said, "Eugene, I impersonate you very well, right? Natalie probably hasn't realized that I am Roger. As you said, we are essentially the same person, which is why I can impersonate you so effortlessly."

Lucas' surgery was very successful. After coming out of the operating room, he was first taken to the ICU for further observation. Once he passed the critical period, he was transferred to a regular VIP ward. His physical data and condition were excellent, so Natalie was overjoyed.

Lilian, who was always cheerful, finally saw her gloomy face brighten after two months. Lilian was always the one who couldn't hide her emotions.

"Lucas, if you had died, it would have been such a waste. I own a large portion of the Norton Group's shares, and the annual dividends are more than I can spend. My father has saved up land for my dowry. If you marry me, you'll become a little rich man!"

The Norton family's little princess, Lilian, still had no concept of money. If she had any sense of money, she would have changed "little rich man" to "billionaire".

As soon as Lucas' condition stabilized, Lilian couldn't wait to start talking non-stop. Over the past two months, Lilian had lost quite a bit of weight. Previously, when she was working as an assistant by Natalie's side, she had gained a few pounds, but now they were all gone.

Lucas looked at Lilian with compassion, wanting to hug her, but he still had various tubes attached to his body, making it impossible to do so.

"Lilian," Lucas said seriously. "You saw it this time. My illness could take me at any moment. Even with a bone marrow transplant, there's no guarantee it won't relapse. You need to think it through."

"Think what through?" Lilian didn't catch on immediately and looked at Lucas with her beautiful big eyes, full of confusion.

"Think carefully about whether you really want to be with me," Lucas said, looking affectionately at Lilian. His throat was a bit dry as he spoke. "I'll give you one more chance to choose. If you still want to be with me, you might end up a widow."

Before Lucas could finish his sentence, a shadow moved in front of him. Lilian suddenly threw herself onto Lucas, hugging him tightly. "Lucas, are you trying to get rid of me? You can't scare me away! I won't leave! If you keep saying things like that, I'll tell Natalie about you!"

The instruments attached to Lucas suddenly started beeping loudly.

Before Lucas could ask Lilian to get off him, the nurse who was standing guard outside rushed in, "What's going on?"

She exclaimed as she saw Lilian, who was always by Miss Watson's side, lying on top of Lucas.

"It's nothing! She must have pressed on the instruments. Silly girl, get up!" Even though Lucas was usually thick-skinned, he felt extremely embarrassed at this moment.

Natalie rushed over upon hearing the commotion and happened to witness this awkward scene. Lilian quickly stood up, her eyes darting around guiltily. "I'm sorry. Natalie, I didn't mean to."

Natalie, worried about Lucas and Lilian, was in the middle of admonishing them when the accompanying bodyguard knocked on the door.

"Mrs. Windsor, Mrs. Hastings wants to see you. Do you want to meet her?"

Natalie seriously recalled her impression of Helen. All she could remember were scenes of Helen speaking to her in a sarcastic and harsh manner, her unreserved support for Susan, and her baseless accusations against Natalie.

The bodyguard told Natalie that Helen was crying and insisting on seeing her. This wasn't the first time Helen had tried to see her, but previous attempts had been blocked by the bodyguards on Oliver's orders.

Hearing this, Natalie instinctively frowned, really not wanting to deal with Helen, who only knew how to cry.

Helen hadn't entered the hospital but was in the hospital's VIP parking area. Natalie had previously said that if Helen wasn't there for medical reasons, she shouldn't come in. Because someone who easily got emotional could easily disturb the medical staff and patients in the hospital.

"Mrs. Hastings."

Helen, standing by the Bentley, turned around. "Natalie."

Helen was clearly meticulously dressed, wearing the latest season's ready-to-wear from Chanel, with exquisite makeup and styled hair. However, her complexion was poor, probably from crying too much, and her eyes were a bit swollen.

With tears in her eyes, Helen looked at Natalie affectionately and tenderly, like a loving mother longing for her daughter. Helen took two steps forward, trying to hold Natalie's hand.

Natalie stepped back first, avoiding Helen. Natalie furrowed her brows deeply, showing her resistance and even aversion.
