Chapter 470
"Mr. Windsor, you really know how to create a spectacle. You even dare to threaten legal action against the Hastings family," Helen said. Then, she looked at Natalie and said without hiding her disdain, "Mrs. Windsor, what a pity regarding your leg."
"Mrs. Hastings, don't worry. My leg will recover, but I can't say the same for your daughter's career," Natalie replied tonelessly. "Oh, you should watch your back as well. I'm not the kind to cower."
To be able to maintain her status in the Hastings family, Helen had undoubtedly resorted to all kinds of unsavory means to do so.
Oliver did not have patience for Natalie's subtle approach and said bluntly, "I came here for two matters. First, leave the country. Second, I want Susan to return my ring. That ring is worth a seven-figure sum. It's enough to get her imprisoned for a few years."
Natalie looked at Oliver, astonished.
'His ring is with Susan? That means the lipstick stain belongs to Susan as well, right?' she thought.
Natalie closed her eyes tightly, overwhelmed by the irony.
"What... What are you talking about?" Helen exclaimed as her eyes widened in shock, "Oliver, this is the Hastings Estate!"
Oliver brought his phone out, making it clear he was going to call the police.
Upon seeing this, Helen called out anxiously, "Oliver!"
His finger paused above the dial button, his attention fixed on Helen as though he were watching a clown.
"You can't make the call. We have to wait for my husband and my father-in-law to return," Helen said as she shot a look at a servant, signaling her to summon reinforcements. "Moreover, you said Susan stole your ring? Where's the evidence?"
"Oliver, you can stay, but I'm leaving,” Natalie said. She did not want to spend another second in this place. She found the sight of Helen unbearable.
Oliver did not respond to her words.
"Oliver, you don't have the right to control my actions," Natalie said, her gaze mixed with disappointment and determination.
"Why are you angry again?" Oliver asked with a sigh.
"Don't you understand? I want a divorce," Natalie said helelessly.
This was the first time Natalie had said this in public. She did not do this to humiliate him, but she could not allow him to feign ignorance over this matter again and again.
"A divorce? You want to divorce him?" Helen was shocked.
The astonishment on Helen's face was palpable, as though she had just heard an unbelievable joke.
In Helen's opinion, as well as many who were unaware of the intricate details, it appeared as though Natalie was the one desperately holding on to Oliver.
"Natalie, I won't change my mind," Oliver said darkly. "If we can't have a civil conversation, then I'd rather not talk at all. Please wait for me over there.”
Natalie's attention drifted to the distant garden, her heart engulfed by a sense of sorrow. Perhaps, the discord between her and Oliver had been escalating over time, not solely due to Susan or the minor disputes of recent times. It was also because of the nature of their interactions.
Meanwhile, Oliver did not want Natalie out of his sight, particularly during moments such as these. He knew she did not want to be here, so he wanted to quickly deal with this matter.
The first to arrive was Mr. Hastings and Samuel.
Mr. Hastings was just about to greet Oliver when Oliver interjected, "Mr. Hastings, your daughter-in-law must have summoned you here for support. I didn't come to chat today, so let's just skip the pleasantries.”
The rebuff was unmistakable.
