Chapter 1142 Popularity

After a wild night of drinking, that kid was a surprise.

"What?" The host almost lost it. "You mean that wild night?"

"How would I know what you're thinking?" Jane shot back. "Next question, or we might get reported. I'm not covering any losses."

Thanks to Melissa and Jane's chat, the livestream blew up.

The bullet chat was on fire.

[Who's reporting? No one's reporting you!]

[Jane's so chill! It's definitely the wild night I was thinking of!]

[With who? Ms. Watkins, spill it! No one's reporting you!]

[Lol, why do I find Jane kinda cute? Just me?]

[I think Jane's both cool and cute. If she went into showbiz, I'd be her fan!]

[She doesn't need money or fame, why would she?]

Jane's comments shook things up a bit, but the production team loved it. The viewer count hit a yearly high.

For the next segment, guests had to interact with a friend on camera.

This was to show the real side of celebs with their friends and family.

The other three celebs had different takes: one called a male co-star to boost their on-screen couple status; another called his mom, making a touching scene of a hardworking son and a worried mom; Melissa called an award-winning actor, but his response was just polite.

Jane was watching. It was her first time doing this, and she found it pretty interesting.

Photographers loved observing life.

When the camera turned to her, Jane realized she hadn't picked anyone yet.

"I know Ms. Watkins is close with designer Ms. Lee and supermodel Ms. Watson. Who are you calling?" the host asked.

They clearly wanted Jane to bring in Flora or Natalie for more views.

Jane didn't want to drag her friends into this. She thought for a second and decided.

"As long as it's someone from my contacts, right?" Jane confirmed.

"Yes, Ms. Watkins," the host replied.

"Not calling them." Jane opened Facebook and typed: [I want to eat lobster]

The host looked confused.

The bullet chat went nuts.

[Is this what you call interaction?]

[Jane is so logical!]

[Maybe Jane's burned too many bridges and has no one to call.]

[Someone replied! She got a reply on Facebook!]

On the live stream, Jane's Facebook blew up with replies:

[Which place? Big or small?]

[How can I deliver without an address?]

[Just lobster? Want anything else?]

[Send an address]

[Which lobster place? I'll deliver it personally]

[Eat at the restaurant or home? Want to meet up?]

Meanwhile, her private messages were going crazy.

Jane ignored the private messages. Soon, a call came in.

Caller ID: [Calvin]

Things got even wilder.

"Ms. Watkins, will you take the call?" the host asked.

Calvin never called for anything serious, so Jane figured it was safe to answer on camera.

"Jane, where are you? I sent you a message, and you didn't reply. How can I deliver food without an address?"

The phone was on speaker, and Calvin's voice echoed across the internet.

Now everyone knew how attentive Calvin from the Green family was.

"I'm filming a show," Jane tried to remind Calvin. "We're live right now."

But Calvin didn't get the hint. He just said, "Oh," and continued, "When will you be done? Send me the address, and you can eat as soon as you're done. Do you want some BBQ? Oh, you're livestream, never mind. No BBQ; Jovan won't allow it."

Jane said, "Alright, shut up. I'm hanging up."

The bullet chat exploded again.

[Just curious, who is this Calvin?]

[Calvin is from the Green family. Don't ask which Green family; it's the one everyone knows.]

[Calvin and Jane seem really close. I'm a bit jealous.]

[Calvin being wary of Jovan is like me avoiding junk food in front of my parents.]

[I just posted on Facebook that I want lobster, and all I got was "Keep dreaming!" The difference between people is so stark.]

[Honestly, I was hoping Jane would call Anthony.]

[You're overthinking it.]

[Didn't you see Jane's Facebook responses? Her social circle is enviable.]

[What's there to envy? They're probably all men. Jane seems like a flirt.]

[Jane is single. So what if they're all men? She has lots of suitors; are you jealous? You're just bitter and ugly, envious of others being popular.]

The bullet chat turned into a battlefield.

Jane was oblivious and left as soon as the show ended.

"Jane, over here!" Calvin was waving from a distance, holding two takeout boxes.

"Jane!"

"Jane, you really stirred things up on the live show!"

"Jane, I bought from a better place. Eat mine!"

"Get in line! Our family chef made mine. Jane, eat mine!"

Several young men and women, all good friends of Jane, stood beside Calvin.

Jane thanked them all and accepted their offers. "How about I treat everyone to a late-night snack? What do you want to eat?"

"Anything's fine," they replied.

"Alright, let's go!" Jane said.
Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
