Chapter 414 Hurry Up and Start a Family

"What do you mean by 'just a little while’?" Oliver asked, taking a seat next to them.

The initial excitement of having a niece had diminished over time, and he still preferred his wife over his niece.

"Just a few days," Natalie quickly explained while Tina nodded in agreement.

Oliver sighed, defeated by Tina's innocent gaze.

'Forget it. I can't argue with a child,' he thought.

Seeing Oliver's acquiescence, Tina felt that Natalie was amazing.

At this moment, Liam approached with an iPad and said, “Oliver, your grandmother wishes to speak to both of you.”

It was a video call.

"Me too?" Natalie asked, pointing to herself in surprise.

Liam confirmed with a nod.

Standing up nervously, Natalie realized that despite being married to Oliver for more than a year, she had yet to meet the respected matriarch of the Windsor family.

In a way, Oliver's only emotional link to the Windsor family was tied to his grandmother.

"Why are you so nervous?" Oliver asked as he looked at her in amusement, supporting his chin with his hand.

"Should I redo my hair and change into something nicer?"

Natalie had not left the house and was dressed casually. Her hair was also pulled up in a simple manner.

"It's fine. It won't make a difference if you change or not."

"Are you saying I'm ugly no matter what I do?"

However, before Natalie could say more, a mature female voice rang out.

"Who are you calling ugly? How can you say such a thing?"

Natalie, caught off guard, instinctively stepped back.

"Natalie, come closer. Let me have a look at you.”

Tina, sitting on the carpet, craned her neck, searching for the voice's origin. Eventually, her attention settled on Natalie, and she said, "Mama Natalie, beautiful!"

While Natalie was still distracted, Oliver pulled her closer to the iPad, positioning her in front of the camera.

On the screen, Natalie saw an old woman with silver hair. Her features were soft, hinting at her beauty in her youth. Despite only her upper body being visible, every move she made was elegant and graceful.

Decades earlier, Marjorie Windsor had been a prominent figure in social circles. Ultimately, she was won over by her husband, who had passed away prematurely.

"Natalie!" Marjorie waved and exclaimed joyfully, "Can you see me?"

"Grandma!" Natalie called out. Her back was straight, like a soldier waiting for inspection from his superior.

Meanwhile, Oliver could not help but chuckle at the scene in front of him.

Natalie restrained herself from glaring at him.

Marjorie studied Natalie carefully, feeling more satisfied as time passed. "You're really beautiful! You're even more stunning than when you were on the runway! Oliver indeed has excellent taste!"

Natalie's face flushed because of the compliment, and she only smiled in response.

However, Marjorie was not done. She turned to Oliver, who stood next to Natalie, and asked, "Don't you think you should feel grateful to me?”

With a nod of agreement, Oliver responded, "Yes, Grandma, your wisdom knows no bounds."

Marjorie clicked her tongue and said, “Your words are not sincere at all.”

After teasing Oliver, Marjorie praised Natalie a few more times. After a moment, she finally noticed Tina sitting nearby.

"Oh, who's that little treasure?" Marjorie asked as she beckoned Tina closer to the camera.

"Grandma, this is Tina, Arthur's daughter. She's two years old."

Then, Natalie turned to Tina and said, "Tina, this is your great-grandma."

Tina, following Natalie's prompt, looked at Marjorie before she said, “Great-grandma, hair, gray, white!”

Marjorie's laughter filled the air, her amusement palpable as she playfully attempted to reach through the screen as if to touch Tina.

"She is so cute, even more so than Arthur was at her age!" Marjorie lavished Tina with adoration and compliments. In her eyes, Tina was cute from every angle.

Natalie and Oliver stood beside her, witnessing the warm interaction.

After a moment, the conversation shifted.

"Oliver, Natalie, have you two considered when to start a family?"

The two shared a look, both choosing silence over words.

Natalie felt it was difficult to voice her opinion.

On the contrary, Oliver said, "Not so soon."

He still wanted to cherish their moments alone and did not want to rush into the responsibility of children.

Natalie looked down, wisely choosing to remain quiet.

"Grandma, don't you already have a great-grandchild?” Oliver asked as he playfully flicked Tina's pigtails.

Tina, her attention on Marjorie on the screen, found her very pretty and was not bothered by Oliver's antics.

Marjorie naturally understood their thoughts. She chided, "How can it be the same? She's your Arthur's daughter. You should have your own."

Oliver sat, enduring Marjorie's lectures.

Then, Marjorie's expression softened and warmed up as she turned to Natalie and said with a smile, "Natalie, don't hesitate to speak to me if you have any concerns. I'm here to support you. You're still young, but Oliver is nearing thirty. His energy is going to wane soon. It's important to consider starting a family soon!"

Oliver looked at Marjorie.

'Going to wane?' he repeated her words inwardly.

Natalie could not hold back a laugh at Marjorie's blunt remarks and looked at Oliver with a teasing expression.

Oliver remained silent and stoic in front of Marjorie as if her words had gone unheard.

Natalie's laughter continued until Marjorie expressed a desire to speak privately with Tina.

Liam took Tina and the iPad to another room, and the two began to chat happily.

Oliver, arms crossed, looked at Natalie calmly as he waited for her laughter to subside.

Eventually, Natalie found that she could not laugh anymore. She had finally noticed Oliver's gaze.
