Chapter 719 Sour Son and Spicy Daughter
"Let the chef know about your recent food cravings and flavor preferences later." Oliver received a call from the company and prepared to go to his study to handle work.
"Well, you can just make something simple, I'm not picky." Natalie wanted to say that it wasn't necessary to make a big fuss.
"Since we're going for something special, might as well go all out."
"..." Well, she was convinced.
Not long after finishing their meal, the chef came and asked Natalie about her dietary preferences, listening and recording as she spoke.
"The madam seems to have developed a liking for sour food recently." The chef keenly noticed this difference from before. When they were at the Rosewood Estate, he would judge the tastes and preferred ingredients of both the master and the mistress based on the amount of food they left, making it convenient for future cooking.
Natalie thought about it and realized, "But I actually quite like spicy food too."
Lately, it seemed like her taste had become heavier, and she enjoyed both sour and spicy flavors, but she didn't like sweet.
The chef meticulously recorded everything and also noticed that Natalie's appetite had increased.
However, as a competent subordinate, he learned to mind his own business.
After Mrs. Windsor left, the chef quietly entered the study and showed Oliver the records.
"She likes sour food?" Oliver frowned as soon as he saw the word "sour."
"That's what she said, but she also enjoys spicy food, so I plan to make more dishes with a sour and spicy flavor in the future," the chef said.
Oliver then saw the word "spicy" later on, and his expression improved slightly.
According to folk beliefs, boys prefer sour food while girls prefer spicy food.
Mr. Windsor, who had studied modern biology, scoffed at this feudal superstition. It was clearly determined by whether the father provided a Y chromosome or an X chromosome.
But now, he couldn't stand the sight of the word "sour"!
A son?
Just the thought of it was distressing!
"Make it spicier, within Natalie's acceptable range, but not sour," Mr. Windsor issued the command in his usual domineering manner.
The chef: "??"
What kind of operation is this?
You told me to ask Mrs. Windsor what she likes to eat, and now you're saying she can't have sour?
But you do know that eating too much spicy food isn't good, right?
The honest and straightforward chef never considered the aspect of "boys liking sour food and girls liking spicy food," especially since in his mind, Mr. Windsor was a typical modern science-minded and progressive person who rejected feudal remnants.
If Mr. Liam were here, he would immediately understand Oliver's thoughts and couldn't help but advise, "Sir, wake up! Being a boy or a girl cannot be changed by what they eat!"
The "Supermodel" Paykston competition was nearing its end.
The photo shoot took three days. The participants did their own makeup and styling, and then the organizing committee assigned photographers. The final photos would be scored during a runway show.
This competition was called "Elegance," and whether it was the photos or the catwalk, they had to showcase an Eastern style.
The "Elegance" competition started in the evening, taking advantage of the natural light at dusk and the hidden lights in pavilions and towers to create the desired runway effect. The mansion's corridors, pavilions, and staircases became ready-made catwalks.
The organizing committee staff and models were busy running around, but a few people, including Nora, who served as the host, had some free time.
However, if we're talking about who has more free time, it's actually Natalie and Nora who are relatively free, whereas the other four mentors have things to do.
Melvin and Ennis are industry leaders, and many people in Paykston lined up to meet them. Kirk and Joseph, on the other hand, had other engagements with magazines and exhibitions.
Natalie also had an endorsement shoot, but it was scheduled in Tycoon City, so she will go there next week to film.
"Miss Watson is really something else. Everyone else is eating the boxed meals provided by the organization, but you're the only one being picky and having meals delivered to you. Can't you eat what's prepared by the organizers?" Nora sarcastically remarked during lunchtime.
Casey fetched Natalie's lunch, as she thought the weather was too hot for Natalie to go out. She asked Lilian to take care of Natalie.
Natalie felt that Casey had been taking care of her as if she were a fragile porcelain doll. It was really considerate.
Fortunately, the servants who came to take care of her had high emotional intelligence. They not only prepared lunch for Natalie but also for Lilian and Casey. Lilian was delighted about it for a long time.
In her own words, she said, "Finally, I don't feel like a stray cousin anymore!"
Nora originally looked down upon Natalie's special treatment, considering it a childish behavior that couldn't be taken seriously.
Everyone agreed to eat the meals arranged by the organizing committee, except Natalie, who ate separately. What kind of princess act was she putting on? Even a noble-born heiress like her didn't act so grand!
However, she discovered that Oliver was the one who arranged for the meal to be delivered!
How could she bear that?
Just seeing this lunchbox made her uncomfortable!
Upon receiving her lunch for the day, Natalie raised an eyebrow at Nora's comment.
Several backstage staff members and models on break also glanced at her.
It had to be admitted that Miss Nora was skillful at manipulating people's thoughts. She was particularly adept at subtly imposing her own thoughts onto others.
"Certainly not," Natalie put down her chopsticks. She was accustomed to maintaining the best etiquette in public. She said calmly, "Miss Nora, you have two issues with your statement. First, what the organizers prepared was a meal from the Manor Restaurant, not some boxed lunch. Even if the food provided here doesn't suit your taste, it shouldn't be reduced to just a boxed lunch, right? Secondly, me not having the meal with everyone else didn't cause any trouble for the organizers. Lastly, it seems like Miss Nora, you are the one who is more concerned about such matters."
Nora couldn't believe her eyes.
How did Natalie become so troublesome? What's the matter with her? It was clearly her who was tearing into Natalie, but now Natalie has turned the tables?
"Miss Nora complained the day before yesterday that the lobster prepared by the restaurant was not Australian lobster, and last night she was dissatisfied that the beef was not Japanese Wagyu. And today at noon, she wants to eat authentic French escargot," Natalie shot back, smirking and tilting her head. "How do you have the audacity to demand so much? Do you think this estate is your own? Or that the organizers are your relatives? Furthermore, this is a Chinese-style estate, and all the food also adheres to Chinese customs. If you had any taste or...culture, you wouldn't make such requests for Australian lobster, Japanese Wagyu, and French escargot."
"Ha-ha!"
The once quiet restaurant erupted in laughter in an instant. Everyone was hesitant to laugh because of Nora's status, but there were always some who were headstrong and took the lead.
"Hahaha! Hahaha... I can't handle it, I'm going to die from laughter! It's been so long since I've seen someone so funny!"
