Chapter 744 It's My Honor to Like You
The contestants would only wear high-end designs from major brands and studios in the final round.
Last time at the competition night, Natalie wore high heels. This time, Oliver prepared a pair of flat shoes for her.
The shoes were delivered this afternoon, specially designed to match Natalie's dress. They not only complemented the style of the dress but also added a certain elegance when paired with the flat shoes.
Natalie quite liked the new shoes and took a moment to examine them in her hands. "Let me try them on," she said.
As soon as she spoke, the man knelt down in front of her, placing his handsome fingers on her ankle. "Hold onto my shoulder. Lift your foot," he instructed.
It wasn't Oliver who was changing Natalie's shoes.
Even though Natalie was familiar with the routine, she still felt moved.
Not every man would be willing to kneel down and change shoes for someone they liked, especially considering the prominent status of the men in this circle.
And not every man would always remember that their wife's leg was still injured and she needed flat shoes.
"Oliver, thank you," Natalie said.
Upon hearing her voice, the man paused his actions for a moment. Only after he had finished putting on the shoes did he stand up and take a few seconds to admire Natalie's footwear, satisfied with his choice.
Oliver always had confidence in his own taste and didn't ask if Natalie liked it. Holding onto her waist, he asked, "What do you think?"
Why did she suddenly say thank you?
The word "thank you" hadn't appeared between Oliver and Natalie for a long time.
She remembered that he didn't like it when she said thank you to him.
Because it created a distance.
With Natalie wearing flat shoes, she was considerably shorter than Oliver. She wrapped her hands around his neck, rose on her tiptoes, and embraced him, resting her chin in the hollow of his neck.
"Thank you for loving me," she murmured into his neck.
Oliver's body trembled slightly, almost stiffening, before gradually relaxing. He reciprocated the embrace, gently holding Natalie in his arms.
"What's wrong, baby?" His voice was deep and rich, filled with indulgence and doting, the epitome of tenderness.
Natalie shook her head as she continued embracing Oliver.
After a while, she murmured to herself, "Oliver, I never thought I would meet a man who… who would be so good to me. Except for Lucas."
If it weren't for the last four words, Oliver would have been happier.
That little nephew not only wanted to marry his somewhat foolish but still lively sister, but even as an adult, he was constantly being mentioned by his wife. It was unacceptable!
"Natalie, it's also my honor to love you," Oliver gently kissed Natalie's forehead. "I used to complain about the unfairness of fate, but ever since I met you, I realized that everything before was simply the reward for meeting you."
"Do you ever...complain about fate?" Natalie was shocked. She had always thought Oliver was the type of strong person.
"Only when I was immature," Oliver self-deprecatingly laughed.
In fact, it wasn't just when he was immature. Ever since he could remember, he had been steady and mature. The naive idea of complaining about fate only arose in moments of extreme despair and helplessness during quiet nights.
However, to have Natalie by his side, what harm was there in acknowledging fate once?
Natalie looked up at Oliver, half believing his statement, but she didn't ask too much.
Oliver remembered that Isaac had jokingly asked about his feelings for Natalie before.
His reply at the time was: "Everyone seems ordinary to me, except for her. She is the only goddess."
That sentence came out without hesitation, straight from the heart.
To him, she was different from all the lives that time had touched, including himself.
The Tycoon City competition for the show "Supermodel" officially started.
This time, it had a forest theme, utilizing the unique landscape of Tycoon City. The entire venue was beautifully arranged, and every model that walked out looked like an elf.
Natalie's outfit for the event was a set of Western-style gradient long dress, which she displayed beautifully.
Nora noticed that Natalie was wearing flat shoes. With widened eyes, she was about to criticize, but suddenly realized that these shoes resembled the style of a renowned designer she knew. That designer had already taken a step back from the limelight, making only three pairs of shoes each year.
"These shoes..." Nora was about to say.
"Oliver gave them to me," Natalie said with a smile. When she saw Nora's unhappy expression, she deliberately added, "Do you think they look good?"
Initially, Nora only suspected that these shoes were the work of that designer she loved but couldn't afford. Now, upon hearing Natalie's response, she discovered that they were actually a gift from Simon!
Did she not ask who gave them to her?!
"Natalie, are you showing off?" Nora asked angrily and jealously, glaring at Natalie as if she wanted to devour her alive.
"Oh, so you figured it out," Natalie smiled more brightly and beautifully. "Miss Nora's Mandarin has improved. Congratulations."
