Chapter 748 Unworthy

The ‘Supermodel’ competition in Tycoon City concluded recently.

Twenty contestants were eliminated, leaving the final thirty models to proceed to the last two rounds in Country F. The finals did not involve any eliminations.

Although Natalie was not particularly fond of Rose as a person, she had to admit that Rose's professionalism was quite impressive. Rose entered the finals with a commendable overall ranking of seventh.

Leo, the noble son who pursued celebrity, also advanced to the finals, but his ranking was less impressive at 27th.

The organizing committee of the ‘Supermodel’ competition was known for its unpredictable decisions. Considering that most participants had never visited this country, and those who had were there for work, the committee decided to grant everyone a three-day vacation to relax.

A dinner was to be held at the hotel arranged by the organizing committee, where they were allowed to use a small kitchen. Natalie agreed to host it.

"I thought we were going out to eat. Are the hotels in this country so accommodating that they let guests use their kitchens?" a model asked.

Leo responded, "Others might not have this privilege."

It was implied that Natalie did.

"Wow! Is Natalie that influential?"

Leo thought, 'Her husband is influential. He dotes on her, so Natalie is influential as well…'

Soon, someone noticed Natalie entering the kitchen. When she emerged, it caused quite a stir.

"Natalie, are you going to cook?"

In their view, Natalie was a goddess. Back when she was married to Oliver, she epitomized a true noblewoman, and most noblewomen did not engage in cooking.

"No," Natalie replied with a smile, shaking her head, "I just went to check on the arrangements. The kitchen staff is sufficient, and the head chef's expertise far surpasses mine."

Oliver had specially invited the head chef's former apprentice to assist, facilitating the head chef's work and ensuring the quality of the meals.

Both the head chef and his apprentice were professionals. Although Natalie was adept at preparing home-cooked meals, it was better to have professionals cater to the guests, especially those from abroad.

The mere sight of their knife skills and the presentation of the dishes was enough to impress.

Natalie’s role was limited to discussing the dishes and portions with the head chef.

Once Natalie returned to the kitchen, Casey immediately followed her.

Meanwhile, Lilian sat among the other models, fidgeting with excitement. She exclaimed, "Actually, Natalie is an amazing cook. Everyone knows how delicious her food is!"

She seemed to be showing off a bit.

"Really?" Red Rose gave her a skeptical look and said, "If Natalie can cook, why doesn't she do it herself?"

"Do it herself?" Lilian said, stunned, "The last person who had the privilege of tasting her food was Mr. Windsor from the Windsor Group, also known as Simon. Do you think you’re worthy?"

Leo, who was initially thrilled at the idea of his idol cooking a meal, thought about it and then said humbly, "Well, I definitely don't deserve it."

Red Rose, visibly irked, glared at Lilian and retorted, "You're just an assistant. Since you're privileged enough to dine with us, you should try to be more self-aware and minimize your presence!"

None of the other models had brought assistants, and Lilian and Casey were the only exceptions.

If each of the fifty participants brought an assistant, it would have meant an additional fifty people, which was both presumptuous and impractical.

"Don’t you realize how stupid you are?" Lilian asked.

Red Rose rose to her feet, infuriated, looking as though she was going to start a fight.

If this had been the old Lilian, she might have instinctively avoided the confrontation, but after spending time with Natalie, she had learned to handle such situations with confidence.

"Rose, when I confronted Nora, she simply remained silent. Are you sure you want to do this?" Lilian asked with a confident smile.

At this time, Red Rose had already extended her hand, and it was about less than ten centimeters from Lilian's face. The movement brought by the swift moment of the hand caused Lilian's bangs to flutter slightly.

Everyone watched as Red Rose’s hand suddenly came to a halt.

She looked at Lilian, visibly stunned, assessing the credibility of Lilian's words.

Lilian sensed that she was being more kind than necessary, considering she gave a reminder to Rose.

At this time, Lilian, who looked youthful, placed her hands on the table elegantly. It was a simple gesture, but it suddenly drew everyone's attention to her hands. It was also at this time that they noticed the limited-edition Cartier watch on her left wrist and the sparkling diamond bracelet on her right wrist. This revelation made everyone take a closer look at Lilian's other accessories.

Her shoes were custom-made from Dior, and her handbag was a limited-edition Hermès. A black pearl necklace hung around her neck, clearly expensive. The earrings and hairpins she wore were both from Chanel. Her clothes, although lacking visible logos, were clearly not ordinary either.

"Are you really Natalie's assistant?" someone asked, genuinely perplexed.

"Of course!" Lilian replied, both sincerely and innocently.

Everyone was puzzled.

Given her evident wealth, why would she choose to be someone else's assistant? Did she not have anything better to do?

With such a formidable assistant at her side, Natalie seemed even more terrifying. Everyone wondered if offending Natalie might inadvertently lead to offending someone else.

Terrifying indeed!

Red Rose withdrew her hand, feeling both embarrassed and relieved that she had not slapped Natalie. Otherwise, she might have faced severe consequences.

After Natalie finished discussing all the details with the chef in the kitchen, she came out with the intention of mingling with the younger models and answering any questions they might have. However, when she emerged, she noticed that everyone was looking at her oddly. Although she had always attracted attention, the atmosphere this time was peculiarly intense, a shift that had occurred in the half-hour she had spent in the kitchen.

Natalie, maintaining her composure, glanced around as if she had not noticed anything unusual. She was about to ask Lilian about what had happened when Lilian looked up.

"Natalie, can we invite Lucas to join us?"

Natalie pondered for a moment. It was Friday, and she did not have any obligations for the next two days. It was feasible to invite Lucas without any disruption to her schedule.

"Alright. Ask him if he's free."

After Natalie responded, she paused. Just as she was about to ask Lilian to check if there were any flights from Paykston to Tycoon City today, she saw Lilian beaming with excitement as she said, "He's available! He's already at the airport!"

’He's... already at the airport?’

Natalie cautiously asked, "Which airport?"

"Tycoon City International Airport!" Lilian replied enthusiastically, "Natalie, I'll go pick him up! What if he can't find his way here?"
Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
