Chapter 299 Oliver Beats Someone Up Anyway

The men gained courage from the fact that Jane was single, and Natalie’s husband was rumored to be cheating.

Natalie and Jane exchanged a look of confusion.

“I don’t know him,” Natalie said.

Jane shrugged. “I definitely don’t know him. I don’t even study here.”

The two men downstairs had planned this in advance. When they saw Natalie and Jane, one of them took hold of a microphone while the other held a guitar. They gazed up at their balcony and began to play a tune, singing a love song.

Everyone fell silent. Only the sound of the guitar and the man’s singing could be heard.

The duo sang ‘I Swear’, and when the song concluded, everyone applauded and cheered once more.

Even with the distance, Natalie and Jane could feel everyone’s expectant gaze on them.

The two men had already thought about this. With so many people around, they thought that the chances of success were high and the chances of failure were low. In their opinion, even if the two women were not interested, they would not publicly reject them.

Natalie and Jane naturally saw through the two men’s thoughts, and their expressions turned cold.

Natalie looked down and said loudly, “That gentleman over there, I’m sorry, but I don’t know you. I suggest you pack up and leave.”

The man refused to give up, saying, “Natalie, Oliver doesn’t love you! You won’t find happiness with him!”

Since the other party pretended not to understand her meaning, she refused him directly. “I don’t know you, and I don’t like you. It’s best if you leave now.”

The man’s expression soured after he was publicly rejected. He said, “Are you in love with Oliver’s wealth and power? It’s useless! He doesn’t love you! You’re just his plaything!”

His words were too cutting, sparking an uproar among the onlookers.

Natalie looked at the man coldly.

"Natalie..." Jane looked at Natalie worriedly.

"I’m fine. I won’t be bothered by someone like him,” Natalie said to Jane before she looked down at the man and said disdainfully, “Causing a scene after being rejected doesn’t reflect well on you.”

Natalie was indifferent, but Jane was already thinking about ways to teach the man a lesson.

While the crowd was still buzzing, a tall figure suddenly rushed out and punched the man’s face. Before anyone could react, the man was already pinned to the ground as the tall figure continued to beat him up.

With such a fierce attack, none of the students dared to intervene.

“Why are you hitting him?”

“Stop!”

“Look, there’s a fight!”

Meanwhile, Jane took a look at the person fighting and another person standing in the back, preventing others from getting close, before she asked, “Is that Oliver?”

"Yes," Natalie replied nonchalantly. With just a glance, she had recognized Oliver and Jamie.

Downstairs, Oliver said fiercely, “Get lost!”

The onlookers exchanged a look, not daring to make a sound as they looked at Oliver curiously.

Suddenly, someone caught a glimpse of Oliver’s face and gasped in shock.

‘So handsome!’

"Who are you? Why did you hit him? I’m going to call the police!” the man, who had confessed to Jane, helped his companion to his feet.

Oliver ignored him and looked up at Natalie.

That intense and burning gaze gave Natalie an unexpected sense of clarity despite the distance between them.

At this time, Jamie stepped forward and spoke with the two young men. The details of the conversation were unknown, but the one who was beaten looked frightened. He quickly left with his companions, leaving the flowers, guitar, and microphone they had used to confess behind.

Because they were in a rush, they even stumbled and fell before they got up again and ran away.

Natalie, familiar with Oliver’s way of dealing with things, was not surprised. She knew that Jamie must have threatened the duo.

Meanwhile, the others speculated about Oliver’s identity in hushed voices, but no one could figure out who he was.

On this chilly winter night, the temperature hovered close to freezing.

Natalie, dressed in her home attire, felt cold as she stood on the balcony. She wanted to ignore the figure downstairs and go inside, but her feet seemed to be rooted to the ground. Her eyes were inevitably drawn to the man downstairs.

Oliver retrieved his phone and dialed Natalie's number.

Natalie’s phone lit up within seconds, revealing her position on the third-floor balcony to Oliver.

Natalie glanced downward, letting her phone buzz persistently.

"I’m sorry, the person you’re trying to reach is unavailable. Please try again later.”

Oliver called Natalie again, and similar to before, he only heard the mechanical female voice.

Oliver’s expression became gloomy.

Sensing the oppressive aura, no one dared to speak.

“Natalie?”

Jane wrapped her arms around Natalie, offering comfort.

Natalie was pulled back to her senses by Jane's warmth, finally feeling a hint of comfort. She pulled Jane away as she said in a slightly hoarse voice, “Let’s go in.”

Meanwhile, Jamie asked anxiously, “Should I invite Natalie down here? Or should I speak to the dorm manager so you can go up?”

“Call Anthony, and tell him to come,” Oliver ordered.

“Pardon?”

Oliver glanced at Jamie and asked with a hint of impatience, “Was I not clear?”

Jamie hurriedly said, “Yes, yes, I’m on it!”

When Anthony answered the phone, Jamie said, “Mr. Clark, I’m Mr. Windsor’s subordinate. There’s something I want to report. Someone confessed to Jane beneath her balcony. Are you interested in seeing it?”

Anthony was staying in a five-star hotel near Sense University.

Within minutes, an imposing Knight XV SUV drove in, heading toward the hearts made of candles.

"Wow!"

"Oh my gosh! It's a Knight XV!"

"Hey, it’s another handsome man!"

The balcony door was ajar so Natalie and Jane could vaguely hear the commotion.

Natalie knew that Jane had always liked rugged and handsome off-road vehicles, and the Knight XV was a rare sight, owned by only a select few. Yet, here one was, arriving as if on cue. She immediately thought of Anthony.

Jane's expression darkened as she approached the window. Indeed, it was Anthony!

Anthony looked at Oliver and Jamie for a brief moment. Apart from the two hearts on the ground, a guitar, and a microphone, he did not see anyone confessing.

‘What’s this all about?’
