Chapter 643 Intimate Moments

The sounds of clinking glasses and mingled conversations gradually softened. It felt as though someone had pressed a mute button at the entrance, silencing everything.

Beyond the sudden quiet, the occasional sound of flattery could be heard, laden with caution and sycophancy.

Natalie thought she overheard the name ‘Oliver Windsor’ among the hush.

As expected, it was not long before a man dressed in a tailored silver-gray suit made his entrance, accompanied by his usual aide, Charles, and surrounded by a group of the evening's most distinguished figures.

Through the crowd, Natalie and Oliver exchanged a look.

His gaze was steady and inscrutable. However, she felt that she could see a hint of tenderness in his eyes.

Then, without missing a beat, Oliver’s attention turned to a conversation with a middle-aged entrepreneur beside him, treating Natalie as though she were a complete stranger.

Natalie blinked, musing on how convincingly the man played his role.

Charles, always the reliable confidant, caught Natalie's eye and offered her a polite nod, perfectly balancing between indifference and courtesy.

Natalie held a wine glass filled with red wine, noticing that Oliver's gaze briefly lingered on it.

Oliver did not stay long, exchanging a few polite words with those nearby before proceeding with a determined stride.

Natalie watched him leave, confused. Where was he going?

"Natalie, have you and Oliver reconciled?" Emily whispered, suddenly appearing at Natalie’s side.

"How did you know?" Natalie responded, masking her surprise. She had not disclosed anything to Emily yet.

Emily was confident in her assumption. She understood Natalie; if there had been no reconciliation, Natalie’s reaction would have been far from the subtle delight she had shown earlier.

At this time, a waiter suddenly approached Natalie with a champagne flute, skillfully replacing the glass of red wine without waiting for her approval.

"Miss Watson, this is for you."

"I didn’t order this. Is there a mistake?" Natalie asked, confused and suspicious. She was not going to accept the drink so easily.

The champagne flute held a clear liquid with tiny bubbles; its brand unrecognizable.

"It’s from Mr. Windsor,” the waiter whispered discreetly, his words intended for her ears alone. Oliver had given him specific instructions earlier.

With this, Natalie accepted the champagne flute. She took a light sip.

‘Huh? Isn’t this… Sprite?’

Upon seeing Natalie's astonished expression, the waiter only smiled and proceeded to walk away as though nothing of note had occurred.

Emily could not suppress her laughter. "Oliver really doesn’t want you to drink, does he? He’s always been extremely protective.”

Natalie was both exasperated and amused. However, a warm sensation suffused her heart as well.

None of the other attendees seemed to notice their interaction. In their minds, they were all thinking about how cold and distant Oliver was toward Natalie.

After attending to her social obligations, Natalie discreetly left the afterparty before everyone did.

With Natalie's departure, Emily Reed navigated through the party, which soon became a hotbed of speculation and rumors.

"What’s going on between Natalie and Oliver? Why do they behave as if they’re strangers?"

"Isn’t it obvious? Oliver isn’t interested in Natalie. Didn’t you see how he and Charles ignored her?”

“Man, I was hoping for a confrontation between Natalie and Oliver. It’s boring without any drama.”

"Perhaps it’s a war without smoke. Do you think Natalie could be plotting some dramatic revenge?"

"Are you hoping to see Oliver get defeated? You’re asking for trouble…”

"Regardless, from my observations, Oliver seems completely disinterested in Natalie.”

“I’m curious about his presence here tonight though. It’s obvious that it was Natalie’s comeback stage. I didn’t expect him to attend…”

“Don’t forget that it was also Flora's debut show. Flora and Arthur share a child.”

Thinking that Oliver was still at the afterparty, Natalie made her way to the parking lot in search of Jane and Tina.

Jane's car was unmistakable; it was an elegant rosewood-red Porsche.

Upon finding the vehicle, Natalie practically skipped toward it. Just as she was going to call out, she suddenly froze.

There, in the rosewood-red Porsche, with the door wide open, Anthony pinned Jane to the driver's seat, passionately kissing her.
