Chapter 943 Confrontation

Yes, Jane was no different from the Susan she despises and feels ashamed of. Even Natalie would consider Jane shameless if she knew Jane was staying with the Watkins family. Jane feels ashamed of herself.

What’s wrong with you?" Anthony frowned, his gaze sweeping over Jane's oatmeal-covered body before finally landing on her face. How did she end up in such a mess? Jane sneered. What’s wrong with her?

“Do you consider my presence in front of your fiancée as an insult to her, or do you believe I should not be in the hospital, tarnishing her view?" Jane glanced at Anthony with indifference. Observing that he had no inclination to move aside, she made arrangements to bypass him and depart. Jane had no desire to remain here for another second! She did not wish to lay eyes on these individuals for even a moment!

Jane took a step to the left, only to see Anthony also step to the left, blocking her way.

Jane frowned, suppressing her anger, and decided to move to the right.

Again, Anthony moved to the right, blocking her path.

Jane, having left on an empty stomach, was already feeling hungry. After dealing with both Aurora and Anthony's nonsense, she felt a throbbing headache and slight dizziness.

It felt like low blood sugar.

"What’s wrong with you?" Jane blurted out, then realizing her tone was off, took a deep breath and said in an unusually calm voice, " Mr. Clark, could you please move your leg so you're not blocking my way? Thank you."

Even in such circumstances, she couldn't resist being sarcastic. This was Jane's true nature. Anthony wasn't upset by Jane's subtle sarcasm and inquired again, "What happened?"

"Go ask your fiancée," she retorted.

Jane rolled her eyes and this time directly pushed Anthony aside and left.

Normally, Jane wouldn’t have the strength to push Anthony, but he was momentarily distracted. Ask Aurora?

It had something to do with Aurora.

Anthony squinted his eyes, feeling very displeased.

In the hospital room.

The cleaning staff had already tidied up the floor, Ann had ordered a fresh breakfast for Aurora, and Linda was sitting next to the bed, personally feeding Aurora oatmeal. "Anthony, you're here!“

Aurora was the first to notice Anthony as he entered.

The others turned at the sound and indeed saw Anthony.

Linda teased with a smile, "This couple is really in sync. We didn’t even notice, but Aurora saw Anthony right away." Anthony remained expressionless, seemingly oblivious to the comment. Of course, Aurora was the first to see Anthony as she was the only one facing the door, while everyone else had their attention on Aurora.

The Dewar family were speaking kindly, so Ann felt compelled to bring a more serious tone. "Anthony, where have you been? Why are you just arriving now?" Ann asked sternly, "Your wife is in the hospital, pregnant with your son, and you're only showing up now!"I was looking into something." As Anthony said this, his gaze swept over Aurora.

Ann and Linda interpreted Anthony's glance as one of concern and exchanged a smile. Knowing Anthony's reputation for being cold and aloof, they felt that even a fleeting look from him was a gesture of care. For others, he wouldn't bother to acknowledge their presence. However, Aurora felt a sudden surge of anxiety, her heart racing inexplicably. Why was Anthony looking at her like that? It was as if she was wearing an invisible cloak, but he could see right through her. Despite this, Aurora hadn't done anything wrong or harmful.

“Mother, Aunt, Uncle, I'd like to have a private conversation with Aurora alone," Anthony declared. Aurora's unease heightened, and she was about to make an excuse to keep Linda nearby, but Linda and Ann were eager to agree. "You young ones want some privacy and don't want us old folks around."

"Alright, Anthony, make sure to comfort Aurora properly. She's been through a lot. It's your duty in the end!" Anthony sneered. What duty did he have?”

Jane wasn’t brought to the Clark family by him, and Aurora wasn’t someone he wanted to marry.

“Anthony, please speak politely. If there's anything bothering you, you can talk to me," Otis said as Linda ushered him out. Anthony nodded.

Linda whispered in Otis's ear, "Are you still concerned that your son-in-law will mistreat your daughter? The marriage is arranged, and there's a child. Anthony won't mistreat his wife and child. Let's go!”

Otis glanced at Linda and sighed inwardly.

Everyone else left, thoughtfully closing the door behind them.

Aurora looked at Anthony, her heart pounding, "Anthony..."

Anthony, lacking patience to hear Aurora, directly asked, "Aurora, what's with the oatmeal on Jane?”
Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
