Chapter 807 Mrs. Windsor Doesn't Want to See You
"Samuel, you're a really good actor!" Natalie laughed at herself.
She originally thought that he was different from the Hastings family, at least in his attitude toward her, but she was too naive. Samuel was the Hastings family, why would he favor her?
"They contacted you? What did they say to you?" he asked. Samuel had a bad feeling, but he suppressed the panic in his heart.
"So, you didn't discuss it with them?" Natalie's words were blatantly sarcastic. "Why don't you go ask your mother or your sister?" she remarked.
"Natalie!" he exclaimed, helpless, not knowing how to explain.
Natalie said, "Although we've met a few times, our relationship isn't close. You should still call me Natalie, or you can be even more insincere and call me Miss. Watson."
"You're still so quick-witted," he replied. Samuel's voice became very soft.
Natalie didn't hear the first half clearly, but she caught the phrase "quick-witted" and thought to herself, 'Does being quick-witted have anything to do with you?'
"Well, Miss. Watson, can you tell me what my mother and they said when they contacted you?" Samuel said with a good temper. "Maybe I'll stand on your side."
"Do you think I'm stupid?" she replied.
Natalie's words were only halfway through when she heard a knocking on the door.
Samuel walked in and closed the door behind him.
"Miss. Watson, your husband is here to see you," came the nurse's voice from outside.
Samuel saw Natalie's expression freeze instantly, and her look toward the door became even more rejecting and resistant than when she saw him.
He asked, "What happened between you two? Did you fight?" Clever Samuel immediately noticed her abnormality, and at the same time, there was a touch of satisfaction in his heart!
Okay, he admitted, it was more than just a little satisfaction.
"I don't want to see him," Natalie said to Samuel while holding onto her blanket.
Samuel took a second to react, realizing that this was definitely not a simple disagreement, because the normally arrogant and overbearing Mr. Windsor wouldn't have knocked on the door so politely.
Besides, Natalie's temper was always good. If she didn't want to see Oliver at a time like this and would rather be with him, an "outsider", then Oliver must have made some fundamental mistake.
Yes, Oliver definitely made a mistake. His usually good-natured sister must be in the right.
"Would you like me to keep him outside for you?" Samuel asked.
Natalie didn't say anything, just looked at him, but her intention was clear.
"Miss Watson, have you slept?" the nurse double-checked. If there was no response, she would open the door herself.
"If I help you deal with people, won't you give me any benefits, my sister Natalie?" Samuel said playfully.
Natalie had no expression. "Do you believe that I can have security throw you out too?" she warned, impatiently.
"All right, I'm going!" Samuel muttered as he walked toward the door. "Little sister, such a temper."
Natalie placed her hand on her stomach and pulled down the corners of her mouth.
Little sister?
How could a married and pregnant person be called a little sister?
Oliver looked at his watch, calculating the time. Whether Natalie called "come in" or not, he planned to go in.
Yes, he had to go in and see her anyhow.
However, what he didn't expect was that the door actually opened and he saw a somewhat unfamiliar man.
Samuel opened the door and saw arrogant and domineering Mr. Windsor. The tension and anticipation in his eyes solidified the moment he saw him as if someone had poured a bucket of cold water on him, weakening his entire presence.
'He's actually frowning! Is he disgusted and unhappy with me again?' Samuel wondered.
"What, is my face so ugly to Mr. Windsor?" Samuel asked and leaned against the door frame, seemingly casual, but it happened to block Natalie on the hospital bed.
"What are you doing here?" he asked, Oliver's mood was as livid as his face, not even bothering to address him as "Mr. Hastings".
"Of course, I came to see Natalie," Samuel said. He looked at Oliver with a hidden meaning, he curled the corner of his mouth as if he was here to cause trouble for him. "But she said she didn't want to see you."
"I came to see my wife. Who are you to stop me?" Oliver grabbed Samuel's wrist, wanting to push him aside.
Samuel had maintained a good figure, and he regularly exercised, but his level of physical strength was completely different from Oliver's.
Samuel didn't seem to notice the other's intention to fight, he lowered his voice and said, "What, do you think my current identity is for stopping you?"
Oliver squinted his eyes, scrutinizing Samuel.
Samuel unreasonably gave off a sense of pressure, and said, "Mr. Windsor, do you think I have the right to prevent you from seeing her?"
Watching the two arguing, Jamie stood beside them, afraid to speak, but his mind was full of confusion.
'What's going on? Mr. Hastings threatened Mr. Windsor? But Mr. Windsor does seem to be threatened! Does Samuel know about the bone marrow thing? No, even if Samuel knows about it, he can't threaten Mr. Windsor since he's not Susan,' Jamie thought.
"How is she?" Oliver asked and let go of his hand after a while.
Samuel raised an eyebrow, seemingly satisfied with Oliver's insightful reaction, so he turned his head to look at the woman lying on the hospital bed.
Natalie lay on her side with her back to the door.
"She doesn't want to see you. Maybe she heard your voice, and now I can only see the back of her head," Samuel said and looked at Oliver with an expression of blame.
"That's not what I meant," Oliver replied and clenched his hand by his side, his veins protruding on the back of his hand, trying to control his emotions.
Seeing that it was going well, Samuel stopped taunting Oliver. "I just arrived and haven't had a chance to talk to her yet. I'll tell you about her condition later," he explained.
Before the words had even finished, he gave Oliver a "get lost" gesture and slammed the door shut, not giving Oliver any opportunity.
Hearing the sound of the door closing, Natalie turned her head cautiously, making sure Oliver's footsteps were not there, and coincidentally met Samuel's gaze.
Samuel unceremoniously arranged a seat for himself and asked her, "How are you feeling?"
Natalie turned her head away, unwilling to speak.
"Hey!" Samuel became annoyed. "Natalie, the man you don't want to see is still waiting at the door. Now you're treating me with this attitude. Isn't it a bit too much?"
"I'm not going to die." Natalie had just finished speaking when she received another warning look from Samuel. Reluctantly, she added, "I'm fine. I can be discharged after a few days of observation."
In fact, a few days of observation meant she had to stay in bed to protect the baby.
Thanks to Casey, she didn't suffer serious injuries after falling from such a high runway. Otherwise, not only would she have lost her child, but she might have also risked her life.
"Are you in any pain?" Samuel saw that Natalie didn't respond and scoffed, saying, "How old are you? Why are you having a child? It's not too late to have one at thirty."
