Chapter 1011 Unwanted, Including Him

Upon Clint finished speaking, he could sensed  Anthony's anger clearly, even through the wireless waves of the phone,

Cursing under his breath, Anthony clenched his teeth and asked Clint, "Where is she now? Don't tell me you don't know."

Clint sighed in relief, at least he knew where to find Jane.

"Ms. Watkins took a train to Fae City," Clint said. "Also, the train attendant said Ms. Watkins left something in her seat. When will you be back?"

"As soon as possible."

Anthony left the airport, re-entered through the entrance, and bought the next available ticket back to Southvale.

And he was unfortunate because this flight had no first class, only business class, but business class was already sold out.

Anthony hadn't flown economy class in years. The cramped seat gave his long legs no room to move, and his felt stifled because of his tall figure.

His mood was terrible and malancholic.

Some girls who initially thought Anthony was handsome and wanted to strike up a conversation were scared off by his scowl.

Clint was waiting at the airport in advance and met Anthony at the arrival gate, leading him outside.

"What did she leave behind?"  Clint hadn't mentioned it directly on the phone, and Anthony hadn't asked, so he assumed that Jane had carelessly left something unimportant.

It wasn't until Clint pulled out a sealed transparent plastic bag containing several pieces of broken jade.

"The attendant found this in Ms. Watkins' seat. They contacted Ms. Watkins, but she said she didn't want it. Since we were confirming Ms. Watkins' whereabouts, they gave it to us."

While broken jade might not be valuable, this high-quality jadeite bracelet was still valuable. It could be transformed into a small pendant by repairing the broken section, or by combining it with precious metals like gold or platinum, it could still be used.

It just wouldn't be as priceless as before.

Anthony paused for a few seconds before taking the broken pieces of the jade bracelet from Clint.

Others only saw the monetary value of the bracelet, but to Jane, it was priceless.

Because she had humbled herself to return to the Clark family just for this jade bracelet.

Now, Jane had left this precious item on the train and told the attendant she didn't want it.

Anthony felt that Jane wasn't just giving up on the bracelet.

She was also giving up on him.

"Mr. Clark," Clint noticed Anthony's expression wasn't right.

Anthony closed his eyes tightly, suppressing all his emotions, and handed the broken bracelet back to Clint. He said, "Get it fixed, no matter the cost."

'Fixing a broken jade bracelet isn't just about money. At best, it could be inlaid with gold or platinum, but it wouldn't be the same,'Clint thought.

But seeing Anthony's reaction, Clint didn't dare speak up.

The Bentley drove from the airport onto the second ring road, about to enter the thirdring road.

The driver cautiously asked the man in the back seat, "Mr. Clark, where are you going? The company or..."

"The hospital." Anthony opened his eyes and asked Clint, "How's Aurora?"

"She just came out of anesthesia two hours ago. She's stable now. But if you want to talk to her, you'll have to wait."

Clint knew that Anthony wasn't asking about Aurora out of concern but to see if there was opportunity to settle scores with her.

Anthony didn't plan to confront Aurora immediately. "Let's do the paternity test first."

"Okay, I'll arrange it so you can do it as soon as you get to the hospital."

Clint discreetly glanced at Anthony a few more times. He thought his movement was subtle, but it was easily noticed by Anthony .

"What are you looking at?" Anthony asked without much emotion.

Clint spoke honestly, "I'm worried about your state."

Anthony sneered at this. "Do you think I'll kill myself just because Jane left?"

Clint chuckled awkwardly, "You'll not kill yourself, but..."

Clint, who had been by Anthony's side the longest, knew how Anthony had struggled through the time three years ago when he first left Jane.

It was like he was a walking corpse.

Anthony drowned himself in work. When he had nothing to do, he smoked and drank excessively, ending up in the hospital five times for alcohol poisoning and twice for excessive smoking.

He eventually changed.

He started secretly visiting Jane.

He was like a thief. Clint didn't know how many plane and train tickets Anthony had bought from Southvale to Paykston. Not to mention the times Anthony drove there himself.

Aurora had delivered prematurely because of Jane, almost losing her life. But Anthony wasn't at the hospital with his fiancée.  Ann stayed at the hospital and was too embarrassed to face Aurora's parents. But she still had to tough it out.

As soon as Anthony came out, Ann scolded him harshly.

She genuinely wanted to scold Anthony for being blind and heartless.

"Alright, Anthony didn't leave on purpose. It must have been work-related. Young people, it's understandable. He's carrying the weight of a huge family business. It's not easy. We're here at the hospital, aren't we?" Linda tried to smooth things over with a smile.

Aurora had given birth, but she and Anthony hadn't officially registered their marriage, which worried Linda. She didn't dare offend Anthony.

Ann and Linda exchanged polite words with forced smiles.

Otis looked at Anthony with a troubled expression, wanting to say something but ultimately giving up. He wanted to smoke, but then he realized that it was a no-smoking area.

Wade left the hospital after Aurora woke up briefly .

Anthony remained silent throughout, having no desire to interact with Ann or Linda.

Aurora, due to heavy bleeding, fell asleep again shortly after waking from anesthesia. She was in very poor condition. She had a difficult pregnancy and couldn't produce milk after giving birth. So doctors and nurses were constantly in and out of the room.

The baby had to be fed formula for now.

"Formula isn't as good as breast milk. Should we find someone to provide breast milk for the baby?" Ann felt heartbroken seeing her premature grandson, who was as skinny as a rake, drinking formula.

In this circle, it wasn't uncommon to find someone to provide breast milk. Some young mothers couldn't produce milk or didn't have enough, some wanted to maintain their figure, and others didn't want to endure the hassle of breastfeeding.

Linda agreed wholeheartedly, "We need to find someone good to provide breast milk. She should be beautiful, have at least a master's degree from a prestigious university. And she also should have a good temperament. If she's talented or an industry elite, it would be even better. Because I've heard that the breast milk can affect the child's development."

The Clark family would pay for it and find the appropriate person. Linda just needed to set the conditions.
