Chapter 1075 Mom, Let's Stop Here

"She lives in your house, carrying your child, how can it have nothing to do with me? Anthony, don't be fooled by her appearance. Do you know what she just said? She said she would use the child to provoke me and let the child inherit everything from the Clark family!"

Ann almost shouted these words. She had been a lady of high society all her life and rarely lost her composure, especially not in such a public setting.

"Really?" Anthony was not angry; instead, he seemed somewhat pleased.

If Jane was willing to let her child inherit everything from him, he would be more than happy.

"Anthony, if you..." Ann stopped in mid-sentence, suddenly realizing that people around them were watching. She pulled Anthony towards the villa. "Let's talk inside."

Anyone with a reputation wouldn't want others to see them as a laughingstock.

"Let's talk in the car." Anthony blocked Ann's way.

"You're shutting me out?" Ann was incredulous. She was Anthony's mother! How could Anthony do that?

"Jane doesn't want to see you." Anthony opened the car door, "Please get in."

Ann was still fuming as she sat in the car, her chest tight with anger.

"To the Clark Manor!" Ann ordered the driver.

The driver glanced at Anthony, and after he nodded, the driver started the car and headed towards the Clark Manor.

The ride was silent, directly taking Anthony and Ann to the Clark family estate.

"Get in and kneel!" Ann pointed to a photo. "Kneel before your father's picture!"

Anthony silently glanced at his father's photo and then knelt down.

Ann shouted out, "Anthony, look carefully. This is your father, the man who raised you. If it weren't for the Watkins family, he would still be alive! But because of the Watkins family, your father died in his early thirties!"

"Now you like Jane and even let her keep the child. Do you have a conscience? Huh!" Ann questioned.

She continued, "And your sister! If it weren't for the Watkins family, she would have came into this world! Is this how you act as a brother?"

"I think you've lost your mind, you've been utterly bewitched by Jane!" Ann kept cursing, her words harsh, as if venting long-suppressed emotions.

Anthony looked at his father's photo, his face calm, showing no sign of remorse.

He felt he had done right by the Clark family, his deceased father, and his unborn sister. The only person he had wronged was Jane.

When Ann finally tired of cursing, he spoke, "Can I go back now?"

Ann's breath hitched. "What did you say?"

"If you're done lecturing, I want to go back." Anthony stood up, his knees aching after kneeling for more than an hour.

"Where are you going back to?" Ann grabbed Anthony's wrist, already suspecting the answer but unwilling to believe.

"Emerald Gardens," he said calmly.

"You still want to go back to Jane? Anthony, are you ignoring everything I said? Do you still recognize me as your mother?"

Anthony paused.

Ann thought her words had worked and softened her tone. "Anthony, don't be stubborn! If you let go of Jane, you'll find there are better women more suitable for you. The child in her belly is not a problem; it's still early, and you can have an abortion. Your future wife will bear you children."

"Do you think Jane wants to have that child?" Anthony turned back, sarcastically asking Ann.

"Could it be..." Ann was stunned.

When Anthony asked this, the answer was already clear.

"Mom, I was the one who wanted Jane to have the child. I went to great lengths to make her keep it, using despicable means to prevent her from going to the hospital for an abortion."

Ann's eyes widened in disbelief, each of Anthony's words cutting into her heart.

"Mom, don't think you're the only one who doesn't want that child." Anthony suppressed the pain in his chest, "Jane doesn't want it either."

Both the child and Jane were kept by his manipulative means.

He was unwilling to see Jane frowning, yet she was treated like this by Ann.

"Anthony..." Ann saw the coldness in Anthony's demeanor, his resolute look giving her the feeling she was about to lose her son.

Ann felt a wave of panic.

"Mom, let's stop here. Don't go looking for Jane again." He wouldn't give Ann another chance to appear in front of Jane like today!

Clint was waiting outside the Clark Manor.

From a distance, he saw Anthony walking out, bathed in the sunset, exuding a murderous aura, his mood extremely foul.

"Mr. Clark." Clint approached.

"Find out who leaked the information." Anthony extinguished his cigarette, his face dark.

Clint immediately replied, "Yes, sir."

The Bentley sped back to Emerald Gardens.

Anthony quickly entered the villa, scanning the living room but not seeing Jane. His heart sank, and his nerves tightened.

He immediately asked the maid, "Where's Jane?"

"Ms. Watkins is upstairs." the maid replied.

The maid was stunned, frightened by Anthony's tone and demeanor. He was terrifying when he asked her the question.

Anthony breathed a sigh of relief and strode towards Jane's room.

He knocked twice but heard no response, so he broke in.

Jane was sitting on her newly bought sofa, staring out the window. She only turned her head when she heard Anthony break in.

Her face was expressionless, devoid of emotion. Her delicate features and beautiful face made her look like a lifeless doll.

The most beautiful doll.

"Jane, why didn't you answer when I knocked?" Anthony paused at the door, confirming she was safe and sound on the sofa, finally relaxing.

"If I told you not to come in, would you stay out?" Jane quietly asked.

In fact, she had been lost in thought and hadn't heard Anthony's knocking.

Anthony walked towards Jane, told her with his actions: No.

Even if she said not to come in, he would still enter.

"Right, I have no right to stop you." Jane lowered her eyes, a mocking smile on her face. "This is your house. How could I restrict your actions?"

Anthony felt a pang in his heart, as if something blunt had gouged it.
Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
