Chapter 1074 A Deadly Matter

"Mrs. Clark!" Sadie frowned.

The servant who had been standing behind Jane immediately stepped forward, shielding Jane and warily watching Ann.

Ann felt provoked by the servant and Sadie's attitude, as if the whole world was against her.

Anthony was disobedient, insisting on being with Jane, and even the servants were protecting Jane!

What made Jane so deserving of such kindness?

"Jane, let me tell you! Even if you give birth to this child, he won't be accepted into the Clark family. He'll be an unacknowledged child! You think you can use the child to gain wealth? Dream on!" Ann shouted.

In the Clark Group building, Anthony was in a high-level meeting when Clint received a call from the Emerald Gardens villa. His face suddenly turned grim.

"Clint, is there an emergency? There's an important meeting going on inside, and it might not be appropriate for you to go in now," the guard stopped and reminded Clint at the meeting room door.

"Move." Clint directly pushed the person aside and opened the meeting room door.

A department manager was giving a report, and the room fell silent as everyone turned to look at the commotion.

Clint nodded to everyone and quickly walked to Anthony's side, leaning down to whisper, "Mr. Clark, Mrs. Clark has gone to Emerald Gardens."

The executives saw the usually unflappable Anthony suddenly stood up, his face extremely grim. Without saying a word, he quickly left.

"Today's meeting is adjourned and will continue another day," Clint said before turning to follow Anthony.

"Clint, what on earth happened?"

The executives rarely saw Anthony so emotionally affected.

"A life-threatening matter."

Jane had been indifferent when she first saw Ann, but now she turned icy cold.

Even if the child in her belly wasn't what Jane wanted, it wasn't for others to criticize!

"Ms. Watkins, please calm down! You're still pregnant and can't get angry!" the servant quickly advised.

However, advice was useless now.

"Using the child to gain wealth?" Jane found the term ridiculous.

Did she need to use the child in her belly to gain wealth?

She was never anyone's appendage!

Jane knew that Ann's words were more of a sarcastic jab, implying she wanted to marry Anthony through the child.

Ann never believed that Jane had no intention of marrying into the Watkins family.

"Mrs. Clark, since you've said this much, wouldn't it be a waste if I didn't live up to the accusation?" Jane sneered.

Ann glared at her. "What do you mean?"

Jane placed her hand on her flat belly, "Mrs. Clark, tell me, in this situation, would your son choose you or me?"

Ann's face turned extremely ugly.

Even before Jane was pregnant, Anthony had always stood by Jane's side without hesitation, ignoring his own mother.

"Jane, you're vicious! There really isn't a single good person from the Watkins family!"

"Yes." Jane's lips curled, but her eyes showed no hint of a smile. "As a vicious person, I naturally have to give birth to this child, so you'll be furious every time you see him but can't do anything about it."

"Jane, you!"

"Oh, and if Anthony doesn't have children with another woman, then the child in my belly will inherit all the Clark family's wealth and power." Jane coldly looked at the furious Ann. "Angry? This is just the beginning."

Sadie stood silently by, marveling at Jane's sharp tongue. This kind of mutually destructive behavior was something she handled with ease.

"No! You must come with me today and get rid of this child!" Ann reached out to grab Jane, seemingly having lost all reason.

The servant firmly protected Jane, and the bodyguards blocked the entrance, preventing Ann from entering, causing quite a scene.

The commotion was loud enough that residents of nearby villas began to peek out to see what was happening.

To their surprise, it was Anthony's mother causing a ruckus!

It seemed that even with a child in her belly, Jane would have a hard time entering the Clark family.

This drama was too good to miss to them!

"Stop!" A furious shout came from a distance.

Before the Bentley had even come to a complete stop, Anthony had already jumped out, striding over in large steps.

The onlookers couldn't help but think that Jane was done for this time. Anthony would surely side with his mother, Ann, and not a woman he wasn't even married to. To appease Ann, he would have to embarrass Jane.

Having lived in this circle for so many years, they had never seen anyone manage to humiliate Jane so thoroughly.

This was going to be good!

Jane lifted her eyes and met Anthony's gaze from afar.

Anthony's eyes were dark and intense, filled with a stormy emotion, focused entirely on her, without sparing a glance for Ann.

"Mr. Clark is finally back!" The servant let out a sigh of relief, "Oh! Ms. Watkins, where are you going?"

Jane withdrew her gaze from Anthony, turned, and walked back into the villa, showing no intention of waiting for him, her back exuding coldness and pride.

Almost everyone could see that Jane was angry.

"The Watkins family really raised an impolite person!" Ann muttered through gritted teeth.

Sadie sighed inwardly, shaking her head, thinking that Ann, whom she had assisted for many years, was truly hopeless. Even now, she hadn't grasped the situation. Fortunately, she had sided with Anthony early on.

"Anthony, you came back..."

"What are you doing here?" Anthony interrupted Ann, his eyes cold, looking at her as if she were a stranger, giving the impression that he would throw her out the next second.

"Shouldn't I be here? Can't I come here? You are my son, can't I come to see my son?" Ann hadn't seen Anthony for over a month.

She had originally wanted to speak to Anthony calmly, but his attitude infuriated her as soon as he opened his mouth.

It was all Jane's fault. If it weren't for Jane, her relationship with Anthony wouldn't be so strained!

"You are not welcome here. Please leave." Anthony's attitude was very firm, "If you need to talk to me, you can call me back to the Clark Manor."

The implication was clear: don't come to Emerald Gardens to find Jane.

"I'm not here to see you; I'm here to see Jane!" Ann said angrily.

"There's nothing for you to discuss with her," Anthony said.

Ann attributed all of Anthony's coldness to Jane.

Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
