Chapter 150 Doting
In fact, during the engagement party, he had already noticed her slender waist.
After Natalie closed the closet, just as she was about to turn, she felt a small sting on her lower back. She fell forward, but the man’s arm protected her from hitting the closet door.
Oliver's actions were swift, leaving Natalie defenseless.
When she looked down, she saw a red mark on her waist. She felt even more embarrassed than when she was kissed.
"Oliver, you...!"
Natalie's eyes blazed with anger, looking as though she wanted to kick him! He was crouched down in front of her now; this angle was perfect for kicking his face, but alas, she did not dare to do such a thing.
“That man earlier…” Oliver said in a low voice.
“Didn’t I say there was nothing going on between me and him,” Natalie said, annoyed.
Oliver seemed quite pleased with the hickey he left on her waist. When he stood up, he quickly leaned forward and kissed Natalie’s neck.
Natalie quickly stopped him, afraid he would leave a mark and ruin tomorrow's photoshoot. However, she knew Oliver tended to do as he pleased and mere words rarely deterred him. After a beat, in a moment of inspiration, she cupped his face in her hands, raised her head, and took the initiative to kiss him.
The string of reason in Oliver’s mind snapped immediately, and he kissed her fiercely.
After a moment, Oliver rested his forehead against hers and asked gently, “Can we?”
Upon hearing this, Natalie was surprised to discover that she no longer had any aversion to this matter.
“I…”
Sensing Natalie's change in attitude, Oliver's eyes widened slightly. Excitement and anticipation shone in his eyes immediately.
Natalie’s heart melted when she looked at his eyes. It was as if the stars themselves were contained in his eyes at this moment. She was about to speak when Oliver abruptly stopped, and his expression grew cold.
"What's wrong?" Natalie asked, her face reddened with embarrassment.
There was a strange noise earlier. Oliver's hearing had always been better than the average person.
On the contrary, Natalie had not noticed anything unusual.
At this time, a male voice said from outside, “Go up and get the girl down! I’ll catch her! Hurry”
"Go into the bathroom and don't come out," Oliver said. As he spoke, he led her to the bathroom and quickly closed the door at a shocking speed.
"Oliver, what's going on?!"
Natalie also sensed that something was amiss. She had just cracked the door open when the man outside pulled it shut.
"Don't turn on the lights, don't make any noise, and don't come out!" Oliver’s voice was cold with fury.
"Oliver, I'll go with you, don't..."
‘Don’t leave me here…’
"Be good, don't cause trouble for me," Oliver said before he left.
Soon enough, the sounds of fighting rang from outside.
With no lights on in the bathroom, the people outside were unaware that there was someone hiding inside.
Natalie was anxious and uneasy. In a daze, she could not help but open the door only to discover that Oliver had locked it from the outside! At this time, she seemed to finally regain her senses. She knew she could not go out. She would only be a burden to Oliver.
Natalie held her breath, afraid to make a sound. Her whole body tensed, worried about Oliver.
It was unclear how much time had passed when the bathroom door was opened from the outside.
Light flooded in through the crack.
Oliver had taken off his suit jacket and loosened his tie, and he was still dressed in his shirt and pants, looking no different from before.
"Are you... are you alright? Did you get hurt?" Natalie rushed over and grabbed Oliver's sleeve.
"Who can hurt your husband? Why are you crying?"
Oliver bent down and looked into Natalie's eyes before he tucked a stray strand of her hair behind her ear. There was a hint of gentleness and indulgence in his voice when he spoke.
Only then did Natalie realize that her vision was blurry with tears. She hurriedly wiped the tear away with the back of her hand. She lowered her head, feeling embarrassed. She had been too anxious just now. The incident of being chased in the car had left a shadow on her.
"Scared?" Oliver asked, his heart aching.
"You're not hurt, right?" Natalie asked again.
"Give me a kiss, and I'll be even better."
Natalie hit him, but she was relieved that he was not injured.
When she stepped out of the bathroom, she was startled by the mess outside.
The floor lamp was shattered, there was a huge hole in the wall where the LCD TV used to be, and the duvet was torn. The room was filled with feathers, and the wooden four-legged chair was smashed to pieces.
There were two muscular men lying motionless on the ground; their faces contorted in pain, and their bodies twisted in an unnatural position. Blood was flowing from their faces and foreheads, and two sharp knives were lying beside them.
Natalie cried and took a step back, accidentally bumping into Oliver's arms.
Oliver hugged her and comforted her. "Don't be afraid, they're pretty much disabled."
These two men had interrupted his time with Natalie once again. He was rather angry when he dealt with them. He made sure not to kill them and only made sure they could no longer fight back.
Natalie finally understood why these two men were glaring at Oliver with resentment and despair. It was obvious that these two men came looking for trouble.
Oliver stepped on one of them, asking about their intentions.
The men obviously did not know who Oliver was.
One of them said fearfully, “Someone put out a hit on Oliver Windsor. However, he’s always surrounded by bodyguards, so we decided to target his wife….”
Shock turned into worry when Natalie heard this. She turned to Oliver and exclaimed, “Someone wants to kill you?! Who did you offend?”
