Chapter 227 Divorcing Oliver
Natalie had long wanted to sever ties with the Watson family, but she never had the ability or opportunity. It seemed like a fair trade this time, using Hailey's imprisonment to compensate for the meager years of nurturing by the Watson family.
After a few seconds, Natalie's smile faded. Cutting off ties wasn't enough. She couldn't be separated from Lucas.
"Go ahead, call your damn brother," Oliver impatiently said.
"Okay!" Natalie felt so thrilled that she wanted to hug Oliver.
She walked to the side and dialed Lucas's phone, but it took a while for him to answer.
"Natalie, what's up?" Lucas whispered.
Natalie thought for a moment and asked, "Lucas, were you in class?"
Indeed, Lucas had snuck out of class to answer the phone. He immediately walked further away and raised his voice, "No!"
"Hmm..." Natalie suddenly feared discussing this with Lucas, unsure of his thoughts. "Lucas, I plan to cut ties with the Watson family. I want your opinion."
"Would they agree?" Lucas wasn't convinced.
"Well, your brother-in-law will help me. Do you want to stick with me or stay with the Watson family? If you choose to be with me, I currently don't have a stable income, nor do I have the social status that the Watson family can provide you with.
"As for the Windsor family... I'm unsure of my future with Mr. Windsor. If you want to stick with the Watson family, I will support your decision."
Lucas was stunned for several seconds. Even through the receiver, his urgency and restrained sob could be heard. "Natalie, don't you want me anymore?"
"I..." Natalie was interrupted by Lucas.
"I don't want to be with the Watson family. I want to be with you! Natalie, you can't abandon me. You're the only relative I have. I don't want the Watson family's social status, and I don't want you to support me. I can support you. Divorce Oliver. I don't care about him! Natalie!"
The last "Natalie" sounded like Lucas was about to cry.
Natalie hurriedly reassured him, "I'll never abandon you. Don't worry, I just want you to choose. If you're willing, you can leave the Watson family with me."
"Alright!" Lucas had already thought about it. He was a slow-tempered person, he never felt much attachment to the family after they hurt him early on.
With this answer from her little brother, Natalie felt relieved and couldn't help but smile.
But as she turned around, her smile froze. She didn't know when Oliver had stood behind her. Now, he was staring at her with a cold, frosty face.
"What happened?” Natalie looked at Oliver with confusion, then sought help from Charles.
Charles stepped aside and kept his head down.
"You want a divorce from me, huh?" Oliver took a step closer to Natalie with his long legs. "I helped you and your damn brother. And he dares to incite you to divorce me?"
Clearly, Oliver was truly angry.
Natalie instinctively stepped back, and as he advanced, she took another step back until her heels reached the edge of the desk. Her upper body involuntarily leaned backward. Oliver held her waist with one hand and pinched her chin with the other.
"Natalie, has Milan's food made you more daring?"
Emily, who had been observing the whole situation, thought, "This has nothing to do with Milan's food.” So, Natalie is this timid in front of Mr. Windsor?
"No, I... Please don't be angry." Natalie subconsciously felt that she wouldn't last long with Oliver.
She couldn't explain herself properly, and this completely angered Oliver further. He picked up his coat and walked out, leaving behind the words, "Charles, clean up the mess."
Charles obediently responded, "Yes!"
Natalie wanted to chase after him, but Oliver was in a bad mood, he shouted, "Don't follow me!"
The ambulance quickly arrived, and Mrs. Watson accompanied Hailey into it.
Charles separated Natalie from the Watson family, drafting a statement to protect her reputation. The news spread throughout the circle the following day.
Emily couldn't help but click her tongue a few times. "Mr. Windsor's personality is indeed eccentric, but he is quite handsome."
Emily then thought of all the scandals involving the Windsor family and suddenly felt that Grandpa Windsor and his illegitimate children would probably suffer in the future.
Mr. Windsor was not someone to be trifled with! He was truly a cunning wolf!
"Emily, you..." Natalie didn't expect Emily to be so perceptive, and suddenly she understood Oliver's identity.
"Don't worry, I won't speak recklessly." Emily patted Natalie's shoulder.
Oliver left first, and Charles had originally planned to contact someone to send Natalie home. But Oliver was leaning against the front of the Maybach. He hadn't left.
Standing about four or five meters away, Natalie stopped moving forward.
Was there any reason for him to lose his temper? Did he think she was easy to bully?
The more Natalie thought about it, the angrier she became.
"Mr. Windsor, it's an honor to meet you!" Emily greeted boldly, showing no surprise or flattery.
Oliver's gaze shifted from Natalie to Emily, and his eyes momentarily locked onto her. "Miss Reed, don't artists get assistants and bodyguards from your company? I handed the her over to you, and yet you brought her to the police station?"
He had waited to investigate the matter thoroughly.
"This can't be blamed on the company. It happened due to my personal affairs, and my current identity doesn't deserve a bodyguard," Natalie explained for Emily.
"Mrs. Windsor's identity isn't deserving of a bodyguard? Natalie, do you know how many people want to kidnap you?" Oliver's anger hadn't subsided; this girl was speaking up for Emily. What nerve!
"The one they want to kidnap is still Mrs. Windsor, not Natalie!" Natalie was indignant. Even if someone wanted to kidnap her, it was Oliver's responsibility.
Just as the words left her lips, she realized that she had gone too far. She reluctantly called out, "Darling..."
She had to go along with his temper. Oliver was someone who only responded to softness, not force. Besides Natalie, he didn't respond to any force.
Emily frowned, wanting to say something to Natalie but held back her tongue. "Mr. Windsor, our company is indeed responsible for today's events. I will arrange for Natalie to have an assistant and a bodyguard. I will personally oversee it, alright?"
Oliver reluctantly nodded and looked at Natalie, waiting for her to say something.
Natalie also felt somewhat frustrated and looked away, ignoring him.
