Chapter 787 For You
"He's here?" Natalie was surprised. Oliver had not informed her that he would be coming.
Oliver was dressed much more flamboyantly today than usual. He already possessed outstanding looks and temperament. Today, he was dressed in an expensive bespoke luxury outfit and had even styled his hair!
Natalie had known Oliver for a long time and rarely saw him make an effort to style his hair. Oliver had a cleanliness obsession and felt uncomfortable with hair gel in his hair. He was already incredibly handsome without purposely styling his hair, but after styling it, he became even more eye-catching!
"Natalie, Oliver looks so handsome!" Cocker said enviously, "If I hadn't seen him several times before, I would be mesmerized by him now!"
Natalie had only glanced at him for less than two seconds before Oliver looked up. His gaze accurately locked onto Natalie’s from dozens of meters away. His face showed a gentle and indulgent expression that only appeared when facing Natalie.
"Oh! He's really so handsome and charming!" Cocker exclaimed, "Natalie, did you see? Many people in the audience are looking at Oliver!"
Ever since Oliver entered, many people had been looking at him. This was normal, as he was elegant and distinguished. He had also become accustomed to this attention. He did not think there was anything special about it and calmly ignored those gazes. On his way here, someone even asked him for his contact information.
"He rarely acts so boldly, and he's really strange today," Natalie exclaimed.
Cocker said, "You should be grateful for his boldness. With his outfit and your status, Oliver, many women wouldn't dare to approach."
That was indeed true. When people stood high enough, some people would not dare to approach.
After returning to the mentor's seat, Natalie quickly sent a message to Oliver before the competition started.
Natalie: [Why didn't you tell me you were coming?]
Oliver, seated in the VVIP seat, soon received the text message. He glanced at the woman in the mentor seat and replied.
Oliver: [I never said I wouldn't come.]
'Oh, yeah! He never said he wouldn't come.' Natalie suddenly remembered this.
Oliver did not attend the first two rounds, so Natalie assumed he would not come today. Moreover, due to her suspicion that she might be pregnant, she did not pay attention to Oliver in the past two days.
In the end, she decided it was useless to overthink the situation. It would be best to wait for the competition to end and then quietly go to the hospital for a check-up. At that time, she would know everything.
Natalie: [You're dressed up so fancy today.]
Natalie noticed Oliver looking at her from tens of meters away for a few seconds, and her mind automatically envisioned his slightly raised eyebrows.
Oliver: [I dressed up like this specifically for you.]
Natalie suspected that Oliver might have installed a bug in her brain.
'He’s really getting more and more shameless…'
Natalie rolled her eyes in her mind, put away her phone, and stopped looking at him.
Melvyn, Innes, and Louis exchanged glances. They had initially thought Natalie's lover had some wealth, but the people who could afford the kind of tie Oliver was wearing were all business giants at the top of the business world. Oliver even made these industry elites feel small in comparison.
They did not watch the live broadcast of Fashion, but they heard that there was a watch that appeared in the live stream that resembled the 'Eye of the Stars'.
"Natalie, what's your husband's identity?" Melvyn could not help but ask.
Melvyn did not know Natalie before. He and Jane were in the same field. Compared to Natalie, their relationship was much better.
Natalie paused for a moment and then replied, "A businessman."
The others fell silent.
A businessman? This answer was too vague! Street vendors were businessmen, and entrepreneurs were also businessmen!
In the last two rounds of the finals, unlike before, there was an additional segment where prominent fashion reporters could ask questions about the mentors' scores. The reporters posed various sharp questions.
Perhaps because there were so many industry insiders present for the finals of the top thirty contestants, several models had mishaps during their runway walks. Their performance was not as polished as during private training or even compared to the previous two rounds.
This included Rose, also known as the Red Rose. Her red hair had been dyed silver to match the day's stage effect.
The mentors' comments were very sharp. After each round, the five mentors provided feedback on aspects such as the stage setup, aura, performance, and camera presence. Almost no one escaped criticism.
In the high-pressure environment of the final two rounds, with only thirty contestants left, the organizers had raised the stakes by inviting senior figures from the fashion industry to evaluate the performances.
"Mr. Smith only speaks German, where's the translator? Hasn't the translator arrived? How's that possible? Who's responsible for this?"
An anxious voice resonated through the earpieces.
The senior figure invited today was Mr. Smith. At the age of eighty, he had spent decades in Germany, dedicating himself to design and rarely interacting with the outside world. It was known that he had no aptitude for languages and had given up on learning any others.
"Director, I know someone here who can speak German!" a woman's voice chimed in through the earpiece.
Natalie recognized the voice as Nola's.
While there were likely many German speakers present, what they needed was not just any speaker but someone capable of translating everything Mr. Smith would say, especially since his speech would be spontaneous. This required the skills of a highly proficient interpreter.
Natalie was wondering if Nola might volunteer herself when she heard through the earpiece, "Natalie can do it!"
The other four mentors turned their attention to Natalie and noticed her shocked expression. It quickly became apparent to several people that Nola was intentionally trying to embarrass Natalie.
But it was already too late.
The sound system broadcasted the host's announcement.
"Next, Mr. Smith will give his overall critique of tonight's competition, and Natalie will translate for everyone! Thank you, Natalie, for helping with the translation."
'What the heck!'
Natalie glanced over and saw Nola looking at her with eager anticipation, clearly waiting to see her struggle.
Nola had previously failed to embarrass Natalie during the Fashion live stream, and now it seemed she was attempting to embarrass Natalie again.
Many people looked at Natalie in shock. Although German was not a minority language, translating live, especially in such a complex and pressure-filled setting, was a formidable challenge.
