Chapter 304 Taking it off means you care about me

Charles said with a smile, “Hey, now that filming has ended, I came to take you home.”

Natalie swiftly glanced at the gap in the rear window of the Rolls-Royce. The window was made of one-way glass, and although she could not see anything, she could imagine Oliver inside, a cigarette in hand, with smoke swirling around his cold and handsome face.

"I’m not going back."

Upon saying this, Natalie felt her tone might have been too harsh. After all, Charles was not the source of her discontent. She added, "I have finals coming up, so I need to study."

‘Oliver has already checked your schedule. Your finals aren’t for another five days. You just don’t want to see Oliver,’ Charles thought to himself secretly. Outwardly, he said, "Lilian is at Rosewood Estate, and she wants to see you. You know Oliver isn’t very chatty…”

"If there’s nothing else, then I’ll leave first," Natalie stated, gripping her book as she walked away.

Charles sighed and retreated to Oliver's side. "Sir..."

The car window rolled down, and the smoke from the cigarette dispersed.

Oliver watched Natalie as she moved further away, his gaze narrowing in displeasure. He ordered, “Tell her that Lucas is at home.”

"Huh?" Charles was taken aback. It was one thing to use Lilian’s name to deceive Natalie since Lilian would help Oliver. However, it was different with Lucas. Lucas would surely expose Oliver.

Upon seeing Oliver’s stern expression, Charles hurried after Natalie.

“Natalie, are you sure you don’t want to go back? Lucas is coming,” Charles said. Worried that she might not believe him, he added, “He’s coming to see Lilian.”

Natalie regarded Charles skeptically, doubtful that Lucas would visit Rosewood Estate of his own volition. However, considering Lucas knew Lilian and they were close in age, there was a chance he might be at the estate. Since this concerned her brother, she felt she had to check it out.

Natalie glanced at the Rolls-Royce and frowned. “I don’t want to ride in this car. Please arrange for another car for me. I’m willing to take a cab.”

"Why?" Charles asked, puzzled.

Oliver possessed many cars, so it did not matter if Natalie disliked this particular one. However, Oliver was in the car now. If Natalie did not return with Oliver in the same car, he knew the situation would turn ugly.

"That car makes me uncomfortable."

Charles sighed in relief, thinking to himself, ‘At least you didn’t say the man in the car makes you feel uncomfortable.’

“Please wait for a moment,” Charles said before he left to ask for Oliver’s opinion.

After Charles conveyed Natalie's request, Oliver frowned in confusion.

‘Why does the car make her feel uncomfortable? She didn’t feel that way previously…’

Charles considered the possible reasons, speculating, "Is it possible that it’s because this car was also involved in the rumors regarding Susan?”

Previously, photos of the Rolls-Royce had been captured as well when Oliver picked Susan up from the airport. It was the reason why most people suspected the mystery man in the photos to be Oliver.

Oliver paused for a moment, his expression changing subtly.

‘Is she unhappy about that matter? If so, doesn’t this mean that she cares about me?’

"Tell Jamie to bring another car over. Also, get rid of the Roll-Royces in the garage,” Oliver said before exiting the car.

“Where are you going?”

"Leave without me."

Natalie did not realize that the person coming from the Rolls-Royce was Oliver, not Charles. She was talking to Jane at this moment.

Jane had decided to stay in the dormitory, saying she was too lazy to pack her belongings.

Natalie called to inform Jane that she needed to go to Rosewood Estate and that she could not meet up with Jane. Unexpectedly, Jane called her first, saying she could not meet and that she would be busy over the next two days.

After ending the call, Natalie finally noticed the figure approaching her and instinctively stepped back.

“Why are you here?”

A hint of displeasure flickered in Oliver's eyes, but he still said, "Charles was called away on urgent business, so Jamie will arrive shortly to pick me up."

Natalie paused, sensing that something was amiss, yet unable to pinpoint exactly what. In the end, she found herself waiting alongside Oliver for Jamie's arrival.

As the evening progressed, the air grew cooler.

A chilly wind caused Natalie to shiver. Shortly thereafter, she felt the warmth of a coat draped over her shoulders, its scent a blend of a familiar masculine aroma and a hint of eucalyptus.

Oliver's hand lingered on her shoulder, his fingers long and slender. He was dressed in an elegant, luxurious white cashmere sweater beneath his coat, appearing especially refined amidst the winter chill.

"I don’t need your coat. Please take it back."

Natalie attempted to remove Oliver's coat, but he prevented her from doing so.

"Are you worried I’d be cold?" Oliver's voice was gentle, his hand remaining on her shoulder while the other held hers. His gaze was captivating.

Natalie's heartbeat quickened. "If you fall sick, I won’t take care of you."

Oliver did not believe her at all. He raised an eyebrow, saying, “Alright. Take off the coat then. If you do, it means you care about me.”

Natalie was rendered speechless by Oliver’s childish behavior. She gritted her teeth, thinking, ‘It’ll serve him right if he falls sick!’

As the dinner hour approached, students began to exit the library.

Natalie, already well-known at Sense University, appeared even more eye-catching at this moment.

Oliver, standing at 1.9 meters, drew the immediate attention of passersby. At a glance, his handsomeness was undeniable!

Despite her irritation, Natalie paid Oliver little mind, focusing instead on her phone while Oliver remained stoic beside her.

To an observer, they seemed like strangers.

A girl approached and asked, "Excuse me, can I have your number?"

Natalie's heart skipped a beat. Oliver did not respond, but she could feel his intense gaze on her.

Oliver appeared impatient, disinterested in talking to strangers. It was clear that he hoped Natalie would handle the situation.

Natalie looked at him briefly before stepping aside quietly.

The girl smiled appreciatively at Natalie, misinterpreting her action as considerate and giving her a chance to speak to Oliver.

With this, Oliver’s expression turned gloomy immediately.
