Chapter 782 Torturous Experience

Doris was a fan of Natalie, and Natalie felt it was her duty to save and protect Doris.

Doris thought to herself in confusion, 'Gave up? Leo gave up? How can that be?'

The organizing committee for the Supermodel contest had arrived and would soon be at the Moon Hotel.

Doris decided she must speak to Leo as soon as possible.

"Leo! Leo!"

Leo, following the crowd, entered the hotel and immediately heard Doris calling him urgently.

"Doris? Why are you here? Why are you dressed in the staff uniform?" Leo looked at her and asked, "Shouldn't you be shopping at the mall right now?"

Doris had learned that the organizing committee for Supermodel would be staying at Moon Hotel. For a chance to meet Natalie, she had taken up a temporary position at the front desk.

In any case, this was not important.

Doris said directly, "Leo, Natalie told me you’ve given up on her. Please tell me it's not true."

"It's true," Leo said with a sigh.

"You learned to walk the runway for her. You never showed such determination when we were in school. Now you've reached the global finals, why would you give up?" Doris asked, expressing her disappointment. Natalie is right here. You've disappointed me deeply."

Although Leo and Doris were not related by blood, they were close in age and had a good relationship.

Seeing the look on Doris' face, Leo felt a mix of happiness and anticipation for her reaction.

"Doris, have you noticed the man with Natalie?" Leo suspected that Oliver would be with Natalie, based on how protective Oliver was.

Doris imagined that if Leo pursued Natalie, he would treat her with the same care.

"Natalie said he's her husband," Doris said with a hint of disbelief, "That's insane!"

"Insane?" Leo watched Doris' reaction closely as he said, "Is the man with Natalie even more handsome, taller, and more model-like than me? Does he also have an excellent demeanor?"

Doris nodded vigorously. "But he seems to have a short temper. Although he looks like a gentleman, he’s also very aloof."

"That's him," Leo confirmed, saying, "He's Oliver Windsor, the reclusive CEO of RisingKing Group. Are you surprised? What’s the matter? Did you upset him?"

Doris turned pale. "Leo, be thankful for the law. If it weren't for the law against murder, I might not be alive. How can you still find this amusing?"

"It's okay," Leo patted Doris' shoulder reassuringly as he said, "No matter what happens, Natalie will protect you. I'm safe because of her too."

Leo had gone to Natalie's door at that time, but she turned him away. This rejection was too humiliating for him to share with Doris.

"Since he’s Oliver Windsor, you stand no chance," Doris said with a sigh, looking at Leo with a mixture of pity and resignation, as if to say, 'Fool, it's a shame you aren't good enough.'

Natalie and Oliver entered an elevator filled with other people. She held Oliver's large hand and shook it gently, asking softly, "Oliver, are you angry?"

She tried to soothe him with her gentle words.

Oliver, however, stared straight ahead, deliberately avoiding Natalie's gaze. It was clear that he was indeed angry.

Natalie knew him well; after all, his temper was fierce, and he was possessive. As she contemplated how to comfort Oliver, the elevator came to a stop.

The doors opened, and five people entered, their laughter spilling in from the cafe on that floor.

Natalie stepped back, positioning herself in the corner of the elevator. Oliver’s tall figure acted as a barrier between her and the others, shielding her. Then, she chuckled and looked up into Oliver's eyes. A playful sparkle could be seen in her gaze as she challenged, "Aren’t you mad? Why are you still protecting me?"

Oliver clicked his tongue gently and raised an eyebrow, his expression seeming to ask, 'Are you trying to provoke me?'

Provoking him was not a wise decision.

Natalie touched her earlobe awkwardly and stood quietly, waiting for the elevator to ascend to the penthouse suite on the top floor, which was exclusively reserved for Oliver at this hotel. The hotel staff had already customized the suite to meet Oliver's specifications.

Even if Oliver did not use the suite for a year, no one else was permitted to occupy it. This was one of the privileges Oliver enjoyed as a shareholder.

As the elevator ascended, Natalie overheard a few of the recent arrivals whispering to each other in low, hushed French.

"I wonder if the man who kissed Natalie today is her boyfriend. What type of men does Natalie like?"

"I thought Natalie was a strong, independent woman, but she's surprisingly naive. She didn't even know how to turn off the microphone. It's quite funny!"

"She's not naive. When she confronted the store manager, she was clever and quick-witted. That man must be significant. He has the power to fire anyone he wants."

"I heard that the Supermodel's committee is staying at this hotel, so Natalie might be here too. I wonder if we'll get a chance to meet her."

"I'm eager to see Natalie kiss that man again. It's so exciting."

In the corner of the elevator, Natalie dared not make a sound. She thought to herself, 'Why must I endure this? Why did everyone watch the live broadcast? Don't they have anything better to do? Now, everyone knows I forgot to turn off the microphone and kissed a man. The Supermodel's committee will probably find out soon too.'

"Honey," Oliver suddenly called out.

His words did not draw the attention of the others in the elevator, but they jolted Natalie.

She stared at him with a look that said, 'What is it? If it's not important, just be quiet!'

Oliver mouthed the words silently, articulating each one slowly enough for Natalie to read his lips. He was reminding her to hide.

Natalie thought bitterly, 'This is all your fault!'

She could not resist sneakily kicking Oliver.

When the others, who were staying in regular rooms, exited the elevator, Natalie sighed in relief. Unable to hold back her frustration, she fisted her hand and punched Oliver lightly on the arm, saying, "This is all your fault!"

"Yes, it’s all my fault," Oliver said with a chuckle, catching her fist and intertwining his fingers with hers.

After this incident, Oliver and Natalie never mentioned Doris again.

As they entered the suite, Natalie suddenly remembered something and looked at Oliver in horror.
