Chapter 219 My Wife Will Pick For Me

Natalie's ears warmed with embarrassment.

"You can choose, I’ll pay for it."

She did not wish to select something like this for him!

Oliver hugged her and pulled her inside.

"Sir, ma'am, how can I help you?”

The sales lady approached immediately with a welcoming smile. She could tell from the couple’s attire that they were wealthy.

Oliver glanced at the sales lady and responded, "My wife will help me."

The sales lady smiled and said, “I’m sorry, but your wife looks really young. Why don’t you tell me what type of clothes you like, I can offer some suggestions!”

Natalie could not fault the sales lady for her assumption. Her youthful appearance was undeniable, especially since she seldom wore makeup outside of necessary occasions. Oliver glanced at the sales lady and responded, "My wife will help me."

Natalie could not fault the sales lady for her assumption. Her youthful appearance was undeniable, especially since she seldom wore makeup outside of necessary occasions.

In any case, there was no way she could leave the store now. She glared at Oliver discreetly and whispered, “Choose it yourself!”

"I will try them on for you. Pick the ones you like. You know my size,” Oliver said, stroking her cheek before he took a seat on a nearby sofa. Clearly, he was granting Natalie complete autonomy in the selection process.

Natalie bit her lip, caught between embarrassment and irritation. She was convinced that Oliver was expressing his annoyance at being brought here to purchase clothing for Lucas.

‘It’s not like I didn’t plan to get anything for him!’

"You and your husband are so loving!" the sales lady commented.

Natalie thought to herself, ‘Where is it loving? Can’t you see he’s deliberately making things difficult for me?’

It was commonplace for couples to visit and select these personal items together, and many other couples in the store were doing just that. However, Natalie felt particularly self-conscious about these matters, especially with Oliver's teasing.

She steeled herself to select underwear for Oliver despite being uncertain of his exact size. She figured it would suffice to choose larger sizes.

Eventually, Oliver noticed Natalie proceeding to the counter to make the payment and casually followed her.

"Darling, don’t you think you’ve underestimated me?”

Oliver inspected the underwear she had selected and showed his disapproval. They were too small.

He then asked, "Do you like this style?"

"You told me to choose it," Natalie replied. She had deliberately selected such a style.

"If you are bold enough to them, I’m bold enough to wear them," Oliver said with a challenging smile, "I’m only worried you won’t have the courage to look when I wear them."

‘Why don’t you try me and see if I lack the courage!’

These personal items were not overly expensive. Even from a brand like Burberry, the cost would only be a few thousand dollars.

After paying, she began to feel regretful, wondering if she had acted too rashly. Thus, she hesitantly went back and selected two plain shirts for Oliver, one dark gray and the other black. Both choices were subdued and sophisticated, undoubtedly suitable for him.

“Natalie!”

Shortly after they exited the Burberry store, they were approached by a woman dressed in exquisite clothes.

Lyra had undergone an incredible transformation in just a month. From head to toe, she was adorned with luxury: a Versace coat, an Hermès silk scarf, and a pair of Gucci lamb leather ankle boots.

A middle-aged woman, dressed modestly, followed her. She was presumably a helper.

Natalie asked indifferently, “What do you want?”

Lyra's attention shifted to Oliver, who stood beside Natalie. She had noticed Oliver from afar even before spotting Natalie. His presence was too striking and memorable.

Unaware that the exceptionally handsome man was Oliver, whose appearance could eclipse both young and mature actors in the entertainment industry, Lyra was intrigued. She looked at Oliver meaningfully before she asked with a smile, “Natalie, care to introduce us?”

Oliver did not bother to hide his disgust.

"If there is nothing of importance, I’ll leave first," Natalie stated, keen to leave. She still had to cook for Oliver.

Lyra's demeanor shifted as her polite facade crumbled. "Natalie, you’re still as arrogant as before. Aren’t you afraid that I’ll expose that matter?”

Lyra could no longer maintain her polite smile. She had never been a polite person anyway. Her entire persona was just an act. Moreover, there was no need for pretense with someone who knew her true character.

That matter referred to Natalie using Lyra to scheme against Adrian.

Although Adrian suspected Natalie's machinations against him, he lacked concrete proof. However, if Lyra spoke out, there would be no doubt about Natalie’s involvement in that matter.

“I’m not afraid,” Natalie said calmly, “If anything, you should be afraid.”

“Huh?” Lyra raised an eyebrow.

Natalie continued, “If you expose me, you’ll also expose yourself. For you, securing a position within the Harrington family is important. Even if you can’t marry into the family, being a kept woman is still acceptable, right?”

Natalie's initial confidence in approaching Lyra stemmed from this understanding. Lyra was an ambitious person, yearning for status and wealth. Lyra would not forsake any opportunity to enter a prominent family.

"I really didn’t realize you’re so smart,” Lyra admitted. She had previously viewed Natalie as a victim of Hailey's manipulation. However, the reality appeared far different.

If Hailey was not malicious and did not have the support of the Watson family, perhaps things would turn out very differently. Under those circumstances, Natalie would definitely be able to deal with Hailey. However, Natalie possessed a conscience, more so than many others.

Lyra, on the other hand, had long since forsaken her conscience. She asked, “Can we speak privately?”

Natalie nodded. She turned to Oliver and said, “Give me a moment.”

"How many times must I wait for you today?" Oliver protested, holding onto Natalie's coat, reluctant to let her go.

“Please?”

Natalie's plea was gentle, imbued with an unintentional charm.

With this, Oliver softened immediately. He released her and watched as she conversed with Lyra. With her fleeting charm lingering in his mind, he was tempted to draw her close and kiss her in front of everyone.

“Is he a toy boy or a sugar daddy? You seem to like him a lot,” Lyra remarked, her gaze shifting back to Oliver.

During the party on the private island, Lyra had been jealous and shocked when she learned that Natalie’s husband was Oliver Windsor. However, after Natalie facilitated an encounter between her and Adrian, her jealousy vanished. She knew she was no match for Natalie.

‘This man is strikingly handsome. He’s clearly not the disfigured Oliver Windsor…’

“Let’s not talk about him. What do you want to talk to me about?” Natalie said, dismissing Lyra’s question. She did not think Lyra was worthy of knowing Oliver’s identity, and she also had no obligation to answer Lyra’s question.
Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
