Chapter 422How to Coax Women

After a period of calm reflection, Natalie concluded there was nothing wrong with Oliver defending his brother; it was natural for one to protect their sibling, just as she would stand by Flora. It became clear to her that everyone had different priorities.

Marriage served to unite two people not only with each other but also with their respective families and friends. Although they come together as one family, individual preferences would invariably surface, often leading to disagreements.

Oliver was lying on Natalie's bed, his arm draped over his eyes as a shield.

For several nights, Natalie had shared this space with Tina, and the bedding carried Natalie's scent. Despite the very subtle scent of a child’s body wash, he could distinctly tell which side of the bed she had slept on. The scent on the right side was unmistakably hers.

He turned to the side and inhaled deeply as though by doing so he could numb himself, allowing him to pretend Natalie was right there beside him.

Oliver was at a loss on how to broach the subject with Natalie. It seemed like there was no way to admit that he had consciously ignored the issue and allowed Arthur to take Tina.

At this time, he received a call from the European headquarters.

His presence was urgently required for two significant meetings in Europe, where several pivotal projects demanded his direct involvement.

Natalie often forgot the fact that Oliver was the distinguished chairman of RK Group, especially since he had spent a considerable amount of time domestically. A man of his stature was expected to be extremely busy, yet he had chosen to remain by her side.

The following morning, as Natalie made her way downstairs, she inadvertently caught a snippet of Oliver's phone conversation and decided to return to her room.

Believing Natalie to be asleep, Oliver quietly approached the master bedroom, only to discover her crouching down in the walk-in closet, meticulously packing his suitcase.

The suitcase was splayed open on the floor, already half-filled with clothes and accessories, arranged in an orderly fashion for easy viewing.

A wave of emotion swept through Oliver, causing his heart to flutter and his throat to constrict.

"Europe is experiencing colder weather, so I packed two fleece-lined coats," Natalie remarked, her focus unwavering as she continued with her task. Her indifference hid her concern quite well.

After carefully selecting two pairs of appropriate sapphire cufflinks and placing them in the suitcase, Natalie stood up to close it.

Suddenly, Oliver moved forward, wrapped his arms around Natalie's waist, and drew her into a passionate embrace before he kissed her.

The suitcase tumbled to the floor, its contents strewn about in a chaotic manner.

Natalie made several attempts to break free without success before ultimately relenting and allowing the kiss. She whispered, “Be gentle!”

Oliver's passion seemed to reach new heights today. He embraced Natalie so firmly that she was practically lifted off the ground, finding balance by standing on his foot.

It took a considerable time before he released her.

"Natalie, are you still angry with me?" Oliver asked softly, his forehead resting against hers.

When Natalie tried to speak, no words came out, and she looked away instead.

Oliver pursed his lips slightly. Clearly, she was still angry at him. He gently cupped her face in his hands and asked, “Darling, how can I leave you feeling this way?”

Natalie looked down, avoiding his gaze. "Does it really matter whether you leave or not?"

The situation in Europe demanded immediate attention, and there was no possibility of postponement. Charles had relayed Liam's urgent requests to Oliver three times.

When Oliver finally left the house, he paused at the doorway for a lengthy five minutes, hoping Natalie might appear at the master bedroom window to look at him. Alas, he was doomed to be disappointed. A profound sense of heaviness weighed on his heart; it was a mix of suffocation and slight pain.

"Charles, how do you coax a woman?" Oliver asked as soon as they were in the car.

'Coax a woman? Why would I, who neither have a wife or girlfriend, know that? I don't even know how to pursue women!'

"Might I remind you that I’m single?" Charles replied before he saw the disapproving and disappointed expression on Oliver’s face. He mused internally, ‘Is it my fault that I’m so busy with work that I don’t have a girlfriend?’

Flora had plans to meet up with Natalie and Jane. She was saying goodbye to her fellow designers at a gathering when Natalie and Jane arrived.

"Wow! It's you!" a designer, who recognized Natalie, exclaimed excitedly.

Natalie had made a significant impact during fashion week, emerging as the fastest-rising newcomer of the decade and hailed as a unique talent. Many had said that she was just a step away from joining the ranks of top international supermodels.

"This is my best friend, Natalie Watson," Flora introduced her.

The designers were thrilled to meet Natalie, their admiration evident.

"Could you model for my finals?" one designer asked Natalie hopefully.

"Please choose me!" another implored.

"What are you thinking? Natalie is Wine's best friend. Why would she choose you?" a red-haired designer said with a chuckle before she asked Natalie, "But Natalie, can you recommend someone? A model as exceptional as you?"

The atmosphere was warm and congenial, with no hint of jealousy or rivalry, only mutual respect and admiration.

"Ah, I recognize you! You're... Jane! Am I right?"

The red-haired designer had been observing Jane and only ventured to speak after noticing Jane's familiarity with Natalie.

"Yes," Jane responded with a modest smile, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Beverly."

Beverly's excitement was palpable. "Wow! You actually know who I am! I've been a fan of yours for so long! I always thought you were talented, but your photography truly exceeded my expectations!"

Beverly regarded Jane with the admiration one might have for an idol, becoming an enthusiastic fan on the spot and even requesting a photograph with her.

Someone asked, "Wine, is she also your best friend?"

Flora responded with a smile, "Yes, she is!"

Even those designers not deeply immersed in the photography world had heard Jane's name mentioned multiple times, as her work frequently featured on the winners' lists of international photography competitions. This achievement sparked a sense of admiration and envy toward Flora.

The designers who had successfully made it to the top ten in 'The Designer' were recognized as the rising stars of the fashion industry. Within a few moments, they had exchanged contact information, eagerly anticipating future opportunities for collaboration. Such connections were priceless, representing assets that money simply could not purchase.

Afterward, Flora arranged for a private car to transport the other designers back to their hotel. She then proceeded to a restaurant with Natalie and Jane, where the trio chatted about past amusing experiences.
