Chapter 151 Sleep by myself, afraid of what?

A sly smile slowly spread across Oliver's lips as he asked the men on the ground, “Someone from the Windsor family sent you, right?”

Both of the criminals were stunned. Clearly, Oliver had guessed correctly.

"Which member of the Windsor family?" Oliver pressed on, his tone chilling.

The men prevaricated initially, but under Oliver's unrelenting pressure, they could only reveal the truth.

“It’s Victoria Windsor!”

‘How dare she harm Natalie…’

Oliver dragged the men to the window before he pushed them down and waited for the bodyguards to deal with them later.

“What if you killed them?”

Natalie hurried over.

Fortunately, there was a flower bed below. The two men were in pain, unable to speak, and their faces contorted in agony.

Seeing that they were alive, Natalie sighed in relief. Even if it was in self-defense, they could not kill the other parties.

Natalie recalled the men's words from earlier. Not only did the Windsor family treat Oliver with no respect, but now, his family members even tried to kill him. She could not help but feel pity for Oliver.

“Are you afraid to sleep alone?” Oliver asked gently. Clearly, he was going to leave soon.

Natalie obediently shook her head.

"I'll leave a few bodyguards here, so you can rest peacefully," he assured her. As he said those words, his eyes shone with killing intent and anger directed at Victoria. At the same time, he was also annoyed that he was interrupted by those two fools earlier.

At this time, Natalie said, "Don't concern yourself with those who don't care about you."

Oliver smirked. "Victoria isn’t worth my concern."

‘I’m only concerned about you…’

After saying that, he kissed Natalie’s cheek gently.

Natalie was still contemplating how to explain the mess in the room to the production team the next day when someone arrived to clean up her room.

The next day, there was an announcement about the villa’s inadequate security, and somehow the previous night’s incident was swept under the rug.

Not long after, the male models and photographers also began to arrive one after another.

Lyra, who had struggled to find someone the day before, somehow managed to obtain the help of a famous male model today despite her bad reputation and limited connections in the industry. Needless to say, everyone was envious.

Lyra initiated a conversation with the male model, but the latter only responded politely with a few words. Clearly, they did not know each other well.

At this time, Natalie stood near the door, waiting for Blake and Jane.

Mr. Evans strolled by, puffing on a cigarette. "Natalie, don't you see it? The opportunities you don't want are highly sought after by many!"

As Mr. Evans spoke, he glanced at Lyra.

Last night, Lyra had inadvertently witnessed Mr. Evans approaching Natalie and getting turned down. In exchange for offering herself, Mr. Evans found her a top male model.

At this time, Lyra turned around and saw Natalie gazing at her as Mr. Evans said something to Natalie. This made her recall last night’s events, and she blushed, convinced that Natalie was ridiculing her.

Natalie paid no attention to Mr. Evans, and shortly afterward, Jane arrived.

Jane was among the early arrivals. Most of the photographers had yet to come.

Only Hailey had managed to invite a top male model.

"Blake isn't here yet?" Jane scanned the surroundings but did not see Blake.

"No, he's a famous model after all," Natalie said reassuringly despite the sense of unease that gnawed at her.

At this time, a sapphire-blue sports car pulled up to the villa's porch. A tall man stepped out of the car as he removed his black sunglasses to reveal a highly recognizable face.

Before Natalie could say anything, someone called out, “Blake! Over here!”

Arwyn had effortlessly transformed herself into an elegant European aristocrat, gracefully lifting her voluminous skirt as she approached and warmly embraced Blake.

Natalie's smile faded instantly, while Jane's expression grew colder by the second.

"Jane, don’t be rash," Natalie whispered in a futile attempt to restrain her friend.

Before Natalie could stop her, Jane strode over with big strides. As she drew closer, she overheard Arwyn and Blake discussing styles and poses. Clearly, they were going to be partners for this shoot. Her expression grew colder now that there was no doubt that Blake had left Natalie in a lurch.

"Explain yourself,” Jane said with silent fury as she told herself to remain calm.

With no remorse in his tone and expression, Blake said, "Jane, I'm really sorry, but I can’t be Natalie's partner."

Arwyn's smile brightened as she chimed in, "Natalie, what a coincidence. It appears that the male model you contacted is also the one I had my eyes on."

Sensing the tension, the camera crew quickly zoomed in, capturing every moment.

The other contestants gathered, attracted by the drama.

Hailey pretended to be understanding and said, “Natalie, a partnership is a mutual decision. Given Blake and Arwyn’s friendship and their similar status, it's natural for him to choose her as his partner."

Jane’s gaze was extremely icy as she stared at Blake.

Sensing Jane’s fury, Natalie was worried that Jane would lose her temper. She quickly turned to the camera crew and asked, “May we have some privacy please?”

Mr. Evans smiled smugly and said, “Natalie, the contract states that we have the right to film everything in the villa. You’re not an investor. You can’t make demands like this.”

However, Arwyn knew that this matter might not look good for her if it was exposed, so she said, supporting Natalie, “We have some misunderstandings. Can we discuss this privately?”

Once Arwyn had spoken, the crew agreed immediately.

After the cameras were gone, Black replied truthfully and expressionlessly, “Arwyn suggested that if I agree to be her partner, we can generate publicity through some rumors. Mr. Evans also mentioned that if I don’t help you, he’ll recommend me for the next A-list show.”

Blake's nonchalance showed how common such things were in the industry.

Blake was very ambitious, aspiring to dominate both the fashion and entertainment industry. Arwyn’s popularity had grown recently due to her participation in the competition and her scandals. As such, he also knew he would be able to generate publicity with Arwyn. It did not matter to him if the publicity was good or bad as long as he was famous.

Jane looked at Blake Jane in disbelief as she said in a slightly trembling voice, “Blake, we raced together. I even helped you with your debut show. When you were almost replaced, I fought to secure your position! Setting all that aside, I thought we were friends."

Blake was dismissive of their friendship as he replied indifferently, “We were friends back then because you were the young miss of the Watkins family. Now, the circumstances have changed, and your status has dropped. Why should I jeopardize my future for you? This is the way the world works, Jane.”

Then, he continued to say words that cut deep, “Racing? Do you have any cars to race in now? Moreover, this Valentino shirt you’re wearing today… They’re from two years ago, right?”

At this time, Natalie moved to stand in front of Jane, shielding Jane behind her as she said frostily, “Blake, please leave.”
