Chapter 817 Sorry, Babe

In this situation, Oliver refrained from giving the diamond ring to Natalie. He feared she would mock his meticulously planned scheme, accusing him of getting her pregnant first and then offering the ring as a form of compensation. After all, the timing was perfect, and it was not surprising for her to interpret it that way.

Feeling deeply embarrassed, Jamie quietly withdrew and sent a text message to Collin.

Jamie: [Proposal canceled.]

Collin: [?]

Collin had worked tirelessly, even carving out time to prepare for the proposal. Now, he was informed it was canceled, he felt like a clown.

Jamie: [She found out about the pregnancy and fought with Oliver. Things are spiraling out of control.]

Collin: [Alright, I have no complaints.]

What did it matter if he had worked tirelessly? It still could not compare to the time when Natalie left Oliver, leaving Oliver to work overtime emotionlessly.

Collin could not help but feel that life really was not easy.
Meanwhile, Oliver entered the master bedroom and saw a small but soft-looking bulge on the bed.

The airplane maintained a temperature of 26 degrees. Given the few passengers, those who felt cold might need a blanket. Natalie was wrapped tightly, with only her face showing.

Oliver sat by the bed and gently extracted her hand from beneath the covers. Her fingers were slender, her skin delicate. She was a model, and her hands were as beautiful as those of a pianist rather than a violinist.

Oliver gazed at them greedily for a moment before returning the ring to his pocket, keeping it close to his body. He dared not let her discover it, knowing she was still angry and would not agree to wear it. He did not wish to hear her refusal, accept her rejection, or force her to reluctantly agree.

'If she refused, would I regret it forever?'

Oliver chuckled self-deprecatingly.

Before falling in love with Natalie, he had been an arrogant young master. He was Simon of the RisingKing Group, whom countless individuals sought to please and curry favor with.

After falling in love with Natalie, he desired only a single smile from her, never anticipating that he would one day resort to such sneaky actions.

He felt like a despicable person.

"Natalie?" Oliver patted the bulge on the bed and said gently, "Natalie, it's time to eat."

As she opened her eyes, he planted a tender and affectionate kiss on the corner of her lips.

Natalie frowned. Her face was pale as she said, "I don't feel like eating. I'll throw up if I do."

Oliver furrowed his brows and responded, "You never got airsick before."

"I have never been pregnant before. Wasn't it you who got me pregnant?"

Natalie lifted her head and stared at him calmly. Though her words were not accusatory, they still filled him with guilt and self-blame under her steady gaze.

Oliver reached out and gently covered Natalie's eyes. "I'm sorry, baby."

He then left the master bedroom, and the door closed automatically behind him.

Natalie extended her right hand and gently touched it, her gaze falling on her ring finger. She knew that just moments ago, he had secretly tried to place a ring on this finger.

In the dining area.

Lilian was eating and savoring the food.

The bodyguard also brought a portion for Casey, and soon an empty plate was brought out.

Although both were patients, it was apparent that Casey was more cooperative than Natalie, adopting a positive attitude toward recovery.

"Oliver, why are you the only one here? Where's Natalie?" Lilian wanted to share with Natalie the delicious food the chef had prepared today!

"She said she has no appetite," Oliver replied.

"Oliver, did you make Natalie unhappy?" Lilian frowned and said with a pout, "This won't do. I'll go and check on her. I promised Lucas to take good care of her!"

With that, she got up and headed to the master bedroom to find Natalie.

Oliver, usually very protective of his private spaces, allowed Lilian to freely enter and leave the bedroom just to encourage Natalie to eat.

After a while, Lilian managed to coax Natalie out of her bedroom.

Jamie silently stood aside. He could clearly read the thoughts in Oliver's mind at this moment: this cousin of mine is somewhat useful!

Indeed, Natalie had been swayed by Lilian's enthusiastic persuasions. She even mentioned Lucas to make Natalie feel a sense of obligation to eat.

However, her appetite was lacking, so she merely nibbled at a few bites before setting down her cutleries.

'She eats too little…'

Lilian, who had recently surpassed her previous weight of 100 pounds, was concerned. She herself, standing at five feet one inch tall, ate heartily, whereas Natalie, who was five feet six inches tall and pregnant, ate so little!

This was troubling.

Catching Oliver's meaningful gaze, Lilian doubled down on her efforts to encourage Natalie to eat more. Not forcing, but only encouraging.

"Natalie, try this! It's really delicious! Even the head chef said he couldn't make it as good as before. I asked, and he mentioned it's a modified recipe. Give it a taste!

"Natalie, you must try this! It's amazing! Could you make this for me after the baby is born? I bet yours will taste even better!

"Hey, Natalie, this dish reminds me of one you made before, but with a twist. I can't pinpoint the difference, so you should try it and tell me.

"Ah, this is a famous dish I saw on Instagram. You absolutely must try it!"

Thanks to a meal filled with such tempting suggestions, Natalie ended up eating quite a bit more than she intended.

Sitting by the bed afterward, Natalie gazed out at the stunning views from the airplane window, while Lilian exchanged a triumphant glance with Oliver.

Oliver chuckled appreciatively and handed a bank card to Lilian.

Lilian thought to herself, 'Yay! Natalie makes Oliver more generous!'

Liam was already at the airport early in the morning, where seven or eight luxury cars lined up, drawing the attention of many.

"Don't think this is excessive. It’s actually the minimum necessary!" Mr. Liam explained joyfully to Natalie, "You see, you're pregnant, so you need security, right? Casey got injured, so she needs a car, right? Miss Norton prefers to go back to her own apartment, so she needs a car, right? Jamie and the head chef have worked hard all the way, so they deserve a good car, right?"

In Liam’s view, a 'good car' meant a Bentley.

Natalie pursed her lips, no longer objecting as she used to. After all, Oliver had orchestrated even more ostentatious displays in the past. These Bentleys were simply par for the course.

"Liam, how did you find out I'm pregnant?" Natalie asked casually.

"Isn’t it because you..." Liam began, then paused, finding the phrase 'had an accident' inappropriate. He corrected himself and said, "Not only do I know, but the Old Madam also knows. She's waiting for you and Oliver at home!"
